u people need to bring back the Polyeb bass strings. We want them back now. Dont b taking crap away from us We want all the elixir strings back the polywebs. Bring them back as well
I will never use anything other than elixir's for bass or guitar...they are the best for tone, sight, and last the longest....I've tried dozens of other brands and stuck with them a few rounds....nothing beats Elixir. I've considered seeing if they'd sell me 1000 sets 25 percent off...they ARE the best, no opinion, fact.
For all the reasons in the video, I use to use Elixir strings, but I found they much harder to bend than other strings. If they'd make more bendable Elixir strings I'd come back in no time...
For my electric guitars, I used to bounce back and forth between Ernie Ball and GHS before I made the switch to Elixir, and I haven't looked back since. Granted, a set of Elixirs are twice the price of most other brands, but you get what you pay for. I've noticed a vast improvement in my tone and the length of string life.
they have a great sound to them and they last forever, they cost about twice as much as normal strings do here though and are worth it they last more then twice as long. I'm yet to try the elixir strings for acoustic though, been stuck to martin acoustic strings for years haha
A word from the moderator: We want to educate people about string coatings and how they work, so that players will understand why we believe our coating is superior. @squierstratmaster The coating will wear off the tops of the windings just from general abrasion, but you are right -- it still protects the space in between the windings and that's where gunk will kill your tone. Still, if 3 days is unusual for you to see that, give our customer service team a holler so they help: elixirstrings@wlgore.com. Thanks!
@ElixirStringsMedia cant complain bout it.....love ur strings and it doesnt hurt my turn at the least bit........it might be unitractive to a guy with a magnify glass but thats it lol
@squierstratmaster All coatings wear off eventually. The tops of the windings wear first, because that's where the string is abraded by fingers, picks, slides, (teeth?). The space in between the windings -- were gunk accumulates -- remains protected for awhile longer. So you are correct: The wear you see on the tops does not affect the tone. If you ever feel there's something unusual going on, please contact elixirstrings@wlgore.com (or 800-367-5533 in the US, M-F, 8-5ET). Thanks!
@richogem I've never played Elixirs and I've never really wanted to. One thing I've learned over the years when it comes to anything is that simpler is better. I'll stick to my D'Addarios.
@gjmvi Yeah, if you have highly acidic sweat, you can rust out strings in one night....but good luck doing that with Elixirs. Or, if you do extensive stretching, then any string will break. Elixirs are great, and also a good choice for beginners because they're easier on the fingertips than regular strings.
try that strings, when i bought my guitar, the strings gets old in 1 week and i spent a lot of money and time buying new string, 8 months ago i bought elixir strings, and stills sounds great and they look like new strings
@metalmetalseven The solo is from Firewind's "Head Up High." You can find the official video on YouTube. (Wish YouTube let us put a URL into these comments, but they don't!)
@hellspawn781 All the gauges Gus uses are available as single strings; no plans to create a packaged set out of them at this point. Some stores carry our singles, many do not. You can check our website Products pages, a link to Single Strings is at the bottom of each. There you will find some Buy Now links for online dealers that carry a particular gauge. Wish I could give you a URL to use, but YouTube doesn't allow them in comments! :(
Come on, I don't know if those strings are better of not cause i never tried them, but you're not going to play better with them lol stupid commercial shit
@Mordadigsjalv I've had 4 pairs of these strings now, both acoustic and electric, and they are the best I've EVER tried...and maaaan I have tried many!! just try them, they are worth it ;)

I use Elixir strings, and I'll never go back to uncoated strings. The playability and lifespan are unmatched by other brands.

@richogem what do you mean man, you didnt know strings can go bad after one gig? LOL you are right, this video had me laughing.
gjmvi 2 months ago
@gjmvi its just that the wrapping makes the player think he doesnt need new strings, when he actually does.
anyone whos using elixirs is hurting his tone, his guitar, and his wallet.
which ultimately means -- hes a complete dumbass.
