Have you read the graphic novel? If not you may not enjoy as much as some people because the graphic novel does not have that many fight scenes and Manhattan was nude in alot of the comic.

In case you weren't aware, Watchmen isn't about fight scenes and action. It is one of the slowest graphic novels out there, and it stays slow throughout the novel. About Dr. Manhatten, please grow up. First of all it's the human body; get used to it cause it's all you're gonna be seeing the rest of your life. Second of all, stop worrying about his penis and start marveling over his godlike status. The sex scenes symbolized Dan's fear.

I saw the movie

I think basically first 60% of the movie is very good - pretty much stuck to the story and managed to catch many things from the graphic novel.

UNFORTUNATELY . . .the rest of the 40% of the movie did let me down simply because they changed too much of the story.

The thing that makes me really wonder is WHY DID THEY CHANGE THE STORY toward the end? Based on what I saw in first half of movie, Zack Snyder could have pulled it off - THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THE CHANGES.

didn't really like the movie as much as i thought i would. I felt like it was very slow and long. I like long movies but not when they're slow, Overly political and the sex scenes just felt out of place and could have been edited out. i'm not apposed to sex on screen but it just didn't fit and not after the action or death scenes. The Plot , SFX and "the few" action scenes where really good. But he slowness combined with length and overly politcal storyline made it an overall C- IMHO.

I personally think it was a B movie. It will probably be the best watchmen movie that will ever be made. If you have no idea who the watchmen are, you are going to be lost in this movie. The movie has a blurry story line, switching back from flash backs of each individual character. It leaves the view with a weird message. Personally if you have no idea who the watchmen are it really isn't worth seeing. For fans of watchmen, it was good. It stuck to the comic pretty much which is good.

just saw this movie 2day and the 2 and a half hour cut off the film was aweful it was almost unbareable to sit threw.. albeit the fight seens were absolutely amazing and it was filmed beutifuly it was not as true to the comic as i had hoped.. they altered the ending and for some strange reason they changed the scene where walter burnss the place down and becomes rorschach. they took alot of back story out and it just seemed jumbled together. I am still very exited to see the full version on dvd

I'm a big marvel fan. I like some DC characters. Anyway as must see. I say wait for the DVD

I loved this film. Soundtrack was bad and so was the sex scene, but i loved it overall.

I've got the original first prints which cost quite a bit and i'm quite a big Watchmen fanboy and this film grabbed me. Not the same as the book, no. But a very good different type of superhero movie.

Don't expect X-Men. Expect parody and satire of your thoughts on superheroes!

No, IMDB's rating that is 8.5 is only the "User Reviews" which is the 1000 people who saw it so far. look how many 1~5s there are. The people who actually watched the movie rated it as a 1~5 because it was not that good. the people who rated it as a 7+ are the people who just went to go see it and didnt know what it was about. It was actually a pretty bad movie. The actual critics who rated the movie are giving it poor rates and newspapers are giving it 2* out of 5*

Don't go see it. For fans, it doesn't allow you to connect with the characters emotionally like in the book, and for non-fans it is marketed as an action movie when it is really a 2hour 45min long boring pile of nothing. So everybody loses. Everything you saw in the trailers and movie spots are all of the action scenes. Buy the book or the motion comic on itunes. You'll have a much better experience.

2hrs and 41 minutes wasn't enough time to make this great. 3hrs wouldn't be enough. Snyder cut way to much and I blame WB and the MPAA for that but we'll just have to wait for his ultimate final cut later this year and hope that it lives up to what everyone has been waiting for.

i agree, the movie would have been so much better if they had kept the ending the way it was, especially the giant squid lol, but i think they should have introduced the newspaper seller guy and the guy that was reading tales of the black freighter, and the lesbian and her lover and they should have shown the conflict that rorshach's therapist had with his wife (they should have shown rorshach's full profile), all that conflict accumulating at the nuclear blast, that was so powerful in the book

They did film the Tales Of The Black Freighter, they just knew they could never use it in the movie. It's going to be released as a DVD, then put into the film in a special edition DVD.

I don't understand what is so "unfilmable" about Watchmen. Its hype like that that annoys me. Watchmen was a good COMIC BOOK, not the greatest I've come across, but good. I don't think there is anything that was done in that maxi series that can't be translated on screen as far as the visual arc of the book is concerned. As long as they stay close to that you have a good film right there.
