  • Hey Arch, did you know that David Yates is directing and producing a Doctor Who movie here in the UK?

  • Yeah, I hated that shaky cam thing too. I found it annoying as hell when the camera was focusing on one character and you could see it shaking a little. e.g. When Harry was arguing with Ron.

  • 0:38 You first :P

  • Question Archfiend. Now I'm just guessing that you've seen DH2 by now and if you did like it do you respect DH1 a little but more by seeing how it lead into DH2? Now I respect your opinions fully but I personally loved DH1 and after seeing DH2 I came to love it even more. I just want to hear your thoughts on the matter.

  • @BigDC100

I like DH1 more now after seeing part 2 but that still doesn't excuse the blatant omissions in DH1 like not even showing Mad Eye in any sort of fight let alone him dying.

  • @TheArchfiend

Yeah I did agree with you on that point. Even though I love DH1 I do wish that they had given Moody a more fitting way to leave the series other than just having Bill come in and say, "Mad-Eye's dead." And I do wish they they had put more emphasis on Snape becoming Headmaster. Other than that I, personally, don't have any complains for DH1. The acting was good, it was faithful to the first half of the book, and it was a great lead-up to DH2...in my opinion.

  • I'm a huge Harry Potter fan too! Midnight openings are fun haha. Anyway even though I did like Part 1 I do think they should've changed some things.

  • So... are you gonna make a video on Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows?

  • So that Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2 is out now, I think it's safe to understand the connection between the two movies. Yes, they're both based on the book but it's more like part 1 is basically build up and exposition leading up to the events of part 2. Yeah, it's a bit boring but it's not as boring as Half-Blood Prince. Yeah, sorry guys. Didn't like Half-Blood Prince. Didn't even think the book was all that good.

  • i like Hp 7 part 2 better than part 1 :D

  • I don't think Harry Potter is in Hollywood.

  • One thing I recalled liking was the shooting style =p. Also, if we can believe the book we're going to have lots of hogwarts in HP7-2

  • Out of curiousity, what was with 6:06

  • @TheRello99 It's called the meaning of life.

  • I personally loved this movie but hey that's just my opinion. I think Part 2's going to be epic and maybe you might even like it. We just have to wait and see.

  • instead of being an adventure it was an action....

  • @arexyouxepicxenough

    LOL Indeed

  • yeah i couldn't finish it

  • well I like the movie and the book... but... I wish there was more... I hope part 2 makes up for the books flaws... there better be a dragon scene and It better NOT end with ALL IS WELL!? ...all is well? WHAT THE FUCK!? What a slap in the face! Even though the ending was disappointing in the book... I am still going to go see part 2 in theaters this july, hopefull, that the saga can redeem its self and end on a good note. make some revelation that wasnt in the book & LET HARRY KILL VOLDERMORT!

  • i've come to give you your donation archie, watching your videos and getting you the money : )

  • hahaha nice pic at 6:06

  • I'm an adult who also is a huge Harry Potter fan. I read all the books and I saw all the movies they released. I can see your point about the movie being different. It's disappointing not to see Hogwarts at all and what's going on there. I hope the second part of the movie will redeem the Deathly Hallows story.

  • seriously u are to retarded to see epicness in the movie. the only thing that u do now is to whine about it, again taht is the only thing that u do in your low IQ videos.

u need to know my opinion of the ,ovie.

the moovie is deiffrent yes it isand to me it was to much alone time with harry, ron and hermine but that do not make the movie bad fucktard. this movie is like all the others a great harry potter movie with great fight, acting and music. what more do we need retard? twilight fan boy.

  • @relilimex1

    Cool story, bro.

  • @TheArchfiend so u admit that u are a twilight fan boy. seriously how old are u? u act like a fagget with your whineing.

  • @TheArchfiend This movie was AWESOME! I loved the part when Buzz Lightyear was whacked and hit the mountain. Oh wait, that was The Deathly OWLS, not Hallows.

  • @Poisonnachos

    I C wat u did thar.

  • @TheArchfiend although for once I do need to agree with the douchebag you replied to. For example: You said that one of the bad things is that Hogwarts is not seen in the entire movie... However that's part of the plot. But I do agree absolutely about Mad-Eye, I got a bit pissed at it as well. The movies have always annoyed me with one fact: the fact that the movies cut out 50%-70% of the IMPORTANT details.

  • @TheRello99 I'm pretty sure Moody got killed off screen in the book as well.

  • @Headbanger142 he does. However the way they dismiss Moody in the movie is really irritating. I mean, at least in the book they mention him again several times. Meanwhile, in the movie the very last time you hear about Moody is Bill coming in saying he's dead

  • @relilimex1 What the hell was that?? Was that even English?? Go back to school xD

  • @relilimex1 your retarded

  • @goonerhugo your a dick

  • I kind of felt this way with Percy Jackson.

  • i agree they shoulda showed Mad-Eye getting offed. Sure, you don't 'see' it happen in the book, but when Bill reports that he dies, you could show a little 'flashback' clip of Bill's memory seeing him die. Your comments about not ever seeing Hogwarts I agree with as well. I can't stand Yates, I appreciate your opinion man, but I thought the movies have gone completely downhill since Goblet of Fire

  • @BhpF u mad bro?

  • Was i the only one to realise this major plot hole? in the book dumbledore shows harry a memory from a house elf who served a lady who tom riddle killed and stole the hufflepuff cup from while tom was working at borgin and burkes in the movies dumbledore never shows harry this memory in part 2 of the deathly hallows harry is supposed to break into gringotts to get the cup which has been turned into a horcrux but according to the movies he doesnt even know it exsits yet.....

  • @VGAfusion check out 'problems with the half-blood prince' by themrfraz...he's got a movie review of DH part 1 too

  • Comment removed

  • i respect your opinion. very interesting. i liked the movie tbh i thought it was one of the best. =)

  • all those unexplained things may be explained on part 2 :/

  • The guy who told them about Mad Eye's death was Ron's cousin, Charlie.

  • @harokatty Wow, okay, don't ever answer any questions someone has about Harry Potter, please. Charlie is definitely Ron's older brother.

  • @BeautifulBellaJen Will do. =D

  • @harokatty Sorry... Looking back, I feel like I was looking for a reason to troll.

Awful day today. Sorry for being a bitch. :]

I'm just happy people love Harry Potter.

  • I expected to see some sort of comment about Harry's and Hermione's dance scene.

  • @BhpF there's a difference between being bald and having a shaved head dumb fuck.

  • finally someone else who agrees with me in thinking that while past HP movies were great the 7th one was complete shit!

  • @TheArchfiend First of all, you said that you read the book, right?

So you should know that Harry, Ron and Hermione are not in Hogwarts through like 3/4 of the book.

When Mad-Eye dies no one except Fleur and Bill know that he is dead.

And the other did not see it happen.

Logically, since the book is about Harry and Ron and Hermione, who did not see him die, they don't need to show the part where he dies in the movie.

And it was just like it was in the book: Bill came in told them he was dead.End

  • I knew it was going to be like this, fillers are always rubbish.

  • Totally agree. Pretty hard to disagree with all of this. Too be honest it was still a decent movie and I will be waiting out for the next one although it didn't live up to standard. They really could have put the book in to one film. To be honest I thought they could have done it far better with two movies anyway.

The ending was probably the most aggravating I have ever seen.

  • @BhpF

    *benefit

  • The whole series has been building up to Deathly Hallows, I think (which is why it feels different from all the others). Moving from the comfort of Hogwarts to a real wizarding war. I liked it, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time even though I've read the series. The only thing I was disappointed with is Dobby's death. It was a damper compared to the written version. Didn't convey the same sadness.

  • @BhpF

"usefull in you're life" *useful *your

That says it all right there. Again, go back to whacking off to Emma.

  • @BhpF

Go back to jacking off to Emma Watson pics, fanoby.

  • I would have to read the book again before I comment on this video without making an ass of myself. My memory is a little fuzzy on if they really did waste that much time showing Ron and Hermione jumping around from place to place hiding out. I do have one question, though. Why did you bring up the movie not taking place in Hogwarts? I know in the book they didn't go back to the school for quite some time until looking for the last few Horcruxes. I just don't understand the issue there.

  • Actually, the three main characters (Harry, Hermione, Ron) aren't only hiding from the Deatheaters, but their main goal is to seek and destroy the Hocruxes.

  • I actually liked it. I felt like the book, while good, was really cluttered and not paced very well. The movie is trying to space it out a bit more to fit all they did, so they have to cut some things out. LOTR had to cut things out, it's just the nature of literature and film transitions. I thought they did it pretty well.

  • I thought it was awesome! I loved when the robots came and befriended the smurfs, but then ended killing them all along with Buzz Lightyear and thousands of orphans due to an avalanche caused by Buzz Lightyear's explosive death.

  • Wait a sec. In another video you said this was amazing... ?????

  • HP7 was always going to be a staging movie but the ending was pretty weak, and the half blood prince was shit, it was 2 hours of a guy fucking around with a wardrobe

  • I loved that movie

  • I've always thought Daniel Radcliff was the shitest actor ever. he ruins the harry potter series for me. his expressions are so dull and sometimes dont even make sense

  • 6:06 = Epic.

  • I might be wrong Archfiend, but I read the book a year or two ago, and I was pretty sure that Harry, Ron, and Hermione DIDN'T go to Hogwarts (until the final battle, that is).

  • hopefully part 2 will be better, nice review by the way

  • wtf 6:06 hahaha xD

  • I just came home from watching this in a movie theatre. In decided to watch it before watching this video, and so I did.

Well, the first thing that caught my attention was the fact that they started off showing a close-up of some guy's face (I know you covered this). I haven't really read any of the books so I guess I don't know much about the subject, but I thought the movie was pretty good.

Some of the dialogue got boring, but I thought it was worth watching it.

  • Good review, I might see this installment, looks interesting.

  • This was the best film since the first one. PERIOD.

  • Comment removed

  • Your review is right in line with how I felt. I thought the ensemble moment in the beginning was a taste of things to come but after that and the cheap thrills of the first act it became excruciating to sit through. The I felt no frame of reference for all the haphazard places they traveled to and the dialogue/acting did not illuminate any characters. I've never read the books so everything seemed incoherent with ridiculous amounts of dues ex machina.

  • thx for spoiling the movie of a book i already read XD

  • In the book they don't describe mad eye's death, so I don't see why should they show it in the movies. Also they don't describe how is Snape running the School. The movie, as the book focuses only on Harry, Ron and Hermiony, to give us their point of view of not knowing what's going on in the "magic world". If they showed stuff like the state of Hogwarts it would destroy that feel.

    Sorry for my crappy english

  • @Pipoca19

For the billionth time, Mad Eye's death WAS in the phucking book. It tells of a confrontation with a death eater that defeats him and takes his eye. The movie didn't even remotely address that.

  • I liked this film, though it did have me confused. I haven't read The Deathly Hallows, so I didn't really know about the extra bits. But it was a bit reccuring, though I hope they suss it out it part 2.

  • @CMBHQ its cuz part 1 was the beginning parts and in the book it was slow and boring thats why the book is like 10,000 pages long. Part 2 will probably show the action of the book.

  • Mad Eye died the same way in the books. I'm glad they kept to it.

  • @AutumnViewer

For the billionth time, Mad Eye's death WAS in the phucking book. It tells of a confrontation with a death eater that defeats him and takes his eye. The movie didn't even remotely address that.

  • @TheArchfiend Actually Voldemort appears and blasts Mad-Eye in the face with a curse, causing him to fall from his broom to his death. This is all briefly described by Bill, then everyone quickly proceeds to forget about him within a page. The point is Mad-Eye's death is, in both cases, is not "on camera" and quickly brushed off by all the characters. A quick, unexpected death to such an important character helps illuminate the fact that they're fighting a war - where death can come at any time.

  • I kind of disagree; I mean I was disappointed but this movie was exactly what I expected it to be (a stepping stool for part 2)...it just sucks that we waited all this time to see pretty much an unfinished movie. I'll admit that I'm even more excited for part 2 (which they can't really mess up considering that from now on the plot is going to have non stop action scenes) but still I wish they released both parts because I don't mind sitting through a 5 hour harry potter film.

  • lol "I am a HUGE fan of the Harry Potter films- SHUT UP!"

  • This is sooooo true. I saw it, it sucked ass.

  • I liked it, but then again I haven't read the book for about 3 years so I really don't know how faithful it is.

  • I'd say that is what usually a part 1 in a two part duology is like, only building up to the events in part 2and it was basically the same in the book with mad eyes death just being handwaved and harry, ron and hermione running around all the time. Also with everyone else just being mentioned they were probably just potraying events fromm harrys point of view i think...

  • @SadismIsJustAHobby

yeah i agree, this movie followed the book more closely than the others and they basically did the best they could with it. the book didn't talk about what was going on at hogwarts either and they did have harry watching the marauder's map in the movie which is basically the only reference to hogwarts in the book. the movie reveals mad eye's death the same way as the book as well. the 1st half of the first book is a lot of sitting around Grimmauld place and in the forest

  • It's like in the demonata series when ********* dies they just say "Yea... ******** died." like it was nothing.

  • Half-Blood Prince being a favorite while Deathly Hallows a disappointment? You sure you didn't get that mixed up?

HBP was awful. Literally NOTHING happened in it, except Dumbledore dies. They only talked about the Half-Blood Prince three times in the whole thing, and all were just either passing mentions or minor scenes. I wonder what the relevance it was in the first place. Also the fact that it was NOTHING like the book!

Nothing happens, they mention the title thrice, and it's not like book.

  • @uknownada

yes that's what i was thinking too. i walked out of HBP pretty disappointed. they took a lot of liberties with the script like having no battle at the end and skipping 3 of the flashbacks (they should have at least had the one with the cup) but then decide to set the burrow in fire which never happened in the book. they should have focused on the other parts of the book instead of just teenage drama

  • Prisoner of Azkaban Was The Best one

  • Comment removed

  • The movie was disappointing. It seemed like they tried to make it dark and depressing it just for the sake of it. It wasn't a bad movie by any stretch, but it was a bad Harry Potter movie. However, it had some good action and effects, but I don't really consider that a focus for the series. Also, too much time was devoted to particular parts (such as them trying to figure out how to destroy the 1st horcrux, that took almost half the damn movie, LOL)

  • i think the dudes are diorientating us. this movie may be bad, but then again, maybe they are tieing loose ends and all that shit.

  • @MrCyberSiren

The dudes are what? Diorientating? What the hell were you going for there?

  • @TheArchfiend sorry. disorientating lol

  • @MrCyberSiren This movie is a pile of diarrhea donkey shit!

  • WTF Some kind of squishisaurus monster in the middle of the video...

  • you know what i hate how fucking trailers are just the highlights of a movie you watch it and your like wtf.....i got more enjoyment out of the trailer because they put all the funny or good parts in it

  • @puretube100

The trailers of this movie damn near show all the action scenes end to end.

  • I haven't seen the movie yet. didn't mind the spoiler or els i wouldn't have watched this video. lol. but too bad you didn't really enjoy the movie. I've heard by other people that the movie was great. so i guess ill just have to see the movie for myself to decide that i guess. but yeah thanks for the movie review.

  • Of course it's a disappointment, don't you see how old the actor looks? In the first movie, the actor was young enough to play as Harry Potter. But in this movie, when you look at him now, it's just pointless to go on with the same actor who continues to age faster than the fictional character in the books.

  • I worry someone already said this but the werewolf was the one who said mad eye was dead... still sucks they didn't address it more

  • UPDATE: The film was already made more than $118 Million than it's official budget.

  • I love Harry Potter as well.

I will admit Shaky Cam was a bit annoying. But the other cinematography was great.

The apocalyptic feel was awesome, epic. But I can see how someone would be upset by it.

The death eaters battle in the beginning was pretty disappointing. Not to mention the owl died as well.

Snapes running Hogwarts? I didn't even catch that!

The going around and dialogue was meant to help to an apocalyptic feel. Sort of like Jews hiding from Nazis.

    Your opinion is respected.

  • Like many people have been saying when they read the book, dude there still camping.

  • There were some unexplained things that I don't understand in this movie such as what to everyone at the wedding? Did they all die? Did some survive? Why would they have a wedding when Voldemort is on the lose? How did Harry find a random shovel on the beach? Where was Dobby in the last 4 films? What happened to Longbottom? I just love how Draco had a huge role in the last movie, but in this movie he has less then ten minutes of screen time! LOL!

  • It was bullshit they leave Dobby out of all the films and stuck him in this one just for a cheap shock death!

  • @sprinks83

THANK YOU! When i heard Dobby say "I will always be there for Harry Potter." I'm in the theater screaming BULLSHIT or something along those lines.

  • I'm a huge fan of the books, so I'm always upset when they don't put stuff in the movies.

But a lot of people were saying that they cried at Dobb'ys scene, and I even heard a few sniffles in the theater. But it's nothing compared to the book. I actually cried during the book scene, but the movie didn't do it justice. As I said before, it was too rushed.

  • THE TRUTH:

    1.Half Blood Prince

    2.Chamber of Secretes

    3.Order of the Phoenix

    4.Deathly Hallows

    5.Prisoner of Azkaban

    6. Sorcerers Stone

    7.Goblet of Fire

    Do not deny it.

  • @GmasterRED

    *DENIED*

  • @TheArchfiend Agreed. Majorly

  • @GmasterRED

    1.Half Bllood

    2. Order

    3. Deathly Hallows

    4. Goblet of Fire

    5. Chamber

    6. Prizoner

    7. stone

  • @brunobb1 Are you sick ?

  • @MrDJHandex lol, why am I sick?

  • @GmasterRED Half Blood Prince was the WORST Harry Potter movie, fuck all happened in it, how can you like that one above the others?

  • @LokizarroX

Lol wut. It was a great movie. The GOF was the worst one. The acting was terrible, the plot was wild and incoherent.

the HBP, on the otherhand, the acting was great, and the story actually made sense. The charecters of Snape, the Malfoys, Bellatrix, Harry, even dumbledore were good.

The most important thing was, you could watch it without being a big fan of the books, and still be entertained.

  • David Yates is a pretty shit director, in my opinion. He's the problem for every wrong thing about the movie.

The acting was good. Emma Watson should have looked more traumatized after she was tortured by Bellatrix though. They should have at least showed Dobby's tomb stone, the final scenes seemed rushed.

But on the whole, I liked it. I forgave them for most of the shortcomings BECAUSE it was split into two parts.

  • I just saw it last night. It was pretty good for me. Not bad, like the 4th one was. I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10.

My personal faves are the 2nd and 6th movies.

  • I don't think you can fairly review this film until the second part comes out. It's basically one film chopped in half. I don't agree with most of your points because I feel you missed the point of most of the scenes but you are entitled to your opinion.

  • Meh, I liked it

  • 5 and 6 sucked as movies but on books they where great

  • they only did the shaky-cam thing during the snatcher chase scene. i loved how the whole feel to it was different, lik it made u realize that they were no longer in the safety of their school, but out in the dangerous wolrd-or howevr you wuld put it. and how they showed mad-eyes death was almost exactly in the book. and if u remember, ron wanted to kill 1 of the deatheaters in the cafe, guessin it mite'v been the 1 who killed madeye, so its not lik they all just 4got bout him.

  • @IDyedMyCatPurple That was like two minutes of footage in the cafe when the Death Eaters attacked them. It was hardly worth Mad Eye Moody.

  • shiiit

That's pretty heavy for someone to not recommend it, like I could see disappointment coming (not title of course, being that the final movie has such high expectations), but to not even warrant a watch is shocking

Well ok, question here (if you had a sick enough mind to do it that is), should MOTY come down to Deathly Hallows and Eclipse, would you say this movie was bad enough to vote that bastardization of vampires in for a third time?

  • Harry Potter sucks...what do you expect?

  • Personally, I thought it was the best movie of the series but whatever, we don't all have the same opinions.

  • 6:06 lulz

  • I couldn't even finish watching this video.

  • The half blood prince was so much more boring I thought.

  • When I saw this movie, the audience was completely silence except one person who awkwardly stopped clapping when he heard no one else do so.

  • Why does he so easily dismiss aspects of the movie that were not elaborated on as things that are never to be addressed further, despite the fact that there's another 2.5 hours we've yet to see. Come on now.

Though yes, this installment was far weaker than the previous ones, though understandably, given how it's only the first part. The story did lag quite a bit in the middle portion of the movie, but I wouldn't say I hated it, but I didn't love it.

Also Archfiend, opinions are not facts.

  • You said loose.

  • I guess the scenes with Harry, Ron and Hermione going from place to place were to give more character development, I agree that it did brag and got a little boring, although I prefer it more than the Half-Blood Prince, the book are always better then the movies, by the way what are you thoughts on Deathly Hallows Part 2?

  • Sorry Archfiend, but Deathly Hallows followed the story much much better than Half-blood Prince. for instance, in the Half-Blood Prince they never conveyed that Snape was the one that overheard prophecy. They missed a huge emotional development from Harry which is very important to the snape-harry relationship. Sorry but the fact that you prefer half-blood prince to the deathly hallows shows that you dont know what ur talking about. Take it easy

  • In the book, they handle mad-eye's death with the exact same words, "Mad eye's dead."

  • @theepiclegendoflink

For the billionth time, Mad Eye's death WAS in the phucking book. It tells of a confrontation with a death eater that defeats him and takes his eye. The movie didn't even remotely address that.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheArchfiend

Agreed. I was really disappointed that they didn't show his death. They show the death of Hedwig, but when it came to the death of Mad Eye all he got as a moment of silence. And isn't the eye in Dolores Umbridges office door, Mad Eyes magic eye?

  • Comment removed

  • @theepiclegendoflink Yeah, but that has nothing to do with anything. This is a movie that is seen by loads of people that haven't read the books. For them it's more of a "uhm, wtf?" experience. It wouldn't have been a bad thing if they had decided to actually SHOW Madeye's death in the movies. Sometimes following the books to all expenses isn't the most importat thing in the world. IMO making a movie both book-readers and non book-readers can appreciate would be a better goal.

  • Im just glad I read the last book well before I will see this film.. I'm not looking forward to seeing this - maybe I shouldn't rofl..

  • 333rd video. Well done.

  • @TheArchfiend I'm sure you've gotten requests for this before, but can you do a video about the TSA procedures and the whole TSA groping adults, children, and whoever else doesn't want to go through the full-body scans?

  • David Yates wanted the shakey cameraness in this moive because he wanted the scenes in which Ron, Harry and Hermione are aruging to bring a feel to the audience. Guillermo Del Toro was interested in directing this Harry Potter and I think he should have, I think David Yates is the worst Director for the series. And the whole splitting the film into two parts was obviously to make more money. As you say Arch Money makes the world go round. That is all. lmao/

  • Guys they only had to go back to Hogwarts if they were taking N.E.W.T.S and they don't have to take them, hence they go find horcruxes....

  • the thing that bothered me was the fact that dumboledore never decided to leave the most powerful wand created to harry in his will

  • Holy shit that guy on the video, his site sucks a lot. HTML gone fucking bad.

    By the way.

Neil Tennant ( Pet Shop Boys ) + Ed Norton from American Story X = This guy.

  • @zooropah82

    no u

  • im sorry but they have all sucked and the last 3 especially the books are so much better and its sad to see them butchered buy terrible acting and awful scripting

  • lmao mad eye moody died

  • 6:06 haha WTF

  • I was disappointed with Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince, I felt they rushed things. Especially HBP, I was looking forward to the battle at the end :(. Hopefully Part 2 will be better

  • I thought you are going to pause through out the video like "I think this movie is dissappointing because........" till the end.

  • Comment removed

  • @krazykid7777777

    lol

    Wow. Just wow.

  • @TheArchfiend they didnt graduate from hogwarts but they didnt go because voldemort has control of it via snape (i wanted to say via, i dont know if i used it wrong or not). but they will go back in the second part

  • @krazykid7777777 No you're a dumbshit. They could of gone back to hogwarts to finish schooling but they had to find the horuxes to kill Lord Voldemort

Did you read any of the books.

  • @krazykid7777777

No, they didn't. They were supposed to be in their 7th year at Hogwarts, but dropped out so they could go look for the Horcruxes. Get your facts straight before you start calling people fuck heads and dumbshits, because then you just look like an idiot.

  • @krazykid7777777 uh, no they didn't, they set out to find the Horcruxes

  • @krazykid7777777 If you're going to call someone a 'fuckhead' know what you're talking about. They didn't graduate moron, they left school.

  • love the avgn 'tribute' part lol

  • 6:06 wtf...
