How about intelligent roads and cars in the future? A failsafe system in which cars run on efficient fuels/electricity and the cars speak to the roads by means of software.
I wasn't impressed at all. We don't need the vacuum to communicate, just automate it for every x days. Oven pre-heating should remain directly controlled in the kitchen. I don't see any real benefits of this extra information over the cost of connecting all those devices to my information stream.
I find it ironic to call this thing "social" while answering NO to the girl friend. maybe our future social network will be carpet, oven, fridge etc. :-)
I actually kind of liked the video. It's cute and even funny in a way. But then maybe it's a profound sense of loneliness that makes this idea seem strangely comforting.
I wonder if computers today want the future to look like this. Socially insecure humans trapped in sterile cages who get organic food delivered through a tube at the press of a button while half of the world starves to death fighting over genetically modified Frosted Flakes.
Object s3xuality or objectum s3xuality, in German objektophil (OS), [1] is a pronounced emotional and often romantic desire towards developing significant relationships with particular inanimate objects. Those individuals with this expressed preference may feel strong feelings of attraction, love, and commitment to certain items or structures of their fixation. For some, s3xual or even close emotional relationships with humans are incomprehensible.
Hi, Great to get your comments. Our research has shown that people love social networks and having things connect “socially” is easy and usable.
Example: The lights should be off while we are at work. If we forget, the house does it for us. Our car is friends with the media store and downloads music we like. Technology we control.
The ending of the film is "..to be continued". Perhaps AFTER this video ends, David gets a haircut. Perhaps he called Sophia back and they go out for a drink?
Jesus you guys tried really hard to make that as creepy as humanly possible. Funnily enough none of this video feels very 'human'. This shit right here is not good. I would have had the house encourage him to slay Sophie like a true bro.
@partizan1616 it depends how humans use it... its not the technology who made the existence lonely, but humans themselves. (technology has always existed)
If 50 billion things will be connected, imagine how will they cooperate. It will be funny :) My Music system and vacuum cleaner will both run android 4.0, the TV and Air conditioning will have iOS installed. When my custom Linux refrigerator wants to send a message to my iOS TV to display that he is out of beer then it won't work, so it tires to push a notification to my Android 5.0 phone, which unfortunately can't turn off the version 4.0 home music player, so it will signal the vacuum cleaner.
Wow, that is creepy and reminds me a lot of Ray Bradbury's story where people get to a point where they never see each other face to face and their homes take "care" of them. *shiver* seriously creepy.
wait is this a complete animation using 3d software, or did they just mix in a couple of real sequences? Because otherwise, thats one of the best models I ve seen so far.
this vid is a massive FAIL. You could read this so many ways- don't how if this is pro-tech or anti, or somewhere bizarrely in between, and not even sure if we like the characters or not. what exactly is the message here? the whole thing is creepy & murky.
I think it's a well done video... Somehow it might show at least some parts of our near future - and it is horrible, don't you think so? I don't wanna know everything prepared and so on when I get home after work.
Seems like a bunch of useless chatter between inanimate objects. Pointless noise from things that I don't care about. Who f'ing cares if my couch feels it needs a refresh, whatever that means.
The whole thing seems as useless as a tweeting toilet. Flush this future.
"Let's liken our customers to an annoying hipster git who lives in a smug house and who, given the chance, will turn down the chance of a real human relationship in favour of take-away food and football."
BRILLIANT! You've done it again stupid advertising agency!
Was a good "rough" attempt at showing what the future would be like, but I foresee some major differences. Emoticons will be replaced by real pictures or voice. the phone would not be as bulky, would be flimsy and could be used as a watch. The car would be driving itself or at least have a solution to the distraction of interacting with a computer while driving. His clothes would be computerized and computers would not be making jokes at each other (I am sure this was in jest though).
so basically stay at home, watch football in a language I can't speak, eat dry looking chineese, while you could have just answered and talked your way into getting some ass.. no thanks
C'est vrai que c'est magique tout ça. Etre enfin seul pour le restant de ses jours et ne communiquer qu'avec des objets muets, ça donne vraiment envie.
Anyone know of a good tutorial to produce this kind of text animation ?
