She looks so....... innocent and curious! Thats one of my favourite things about her, not only is she EPICALLY talented, she is so modest! I wanted to see the whole GMA song though...... oh well :) Love you Emily! (In a non creepy way........ lol.)
"She does my spinning song I did at 7 but I never did it." - sometimes I just don't understand the new reporters. "I don't even do it like that today." They confuse me. The guy who reported Emily would have been fine if only he had looked at the info sheet before he spoke. Since he said Mozart wrong and almost said competition instead of composition. Ya. That is all I have to say here. Oh and Emily does seem to take musci seriously. According to this interview. :)
She's really well spoken for a 6 year old. Extremely well spoken for a 6 year old. You would have a hard time getting that lucid of a response out of many people regardless of age.
when i was a kid adults around me would say children are to be seen and not heard, well personaly id rather listen to a talented child speak and play than listen to the mumbo jumbo that comes out of most adults mouths these days, older isnt wiser, some of the most intelligent ppl i know are children
I can play like that and I am ten and she is nine. I am playing at the Glasgow music festival on front of thousands of people. I can play all of au clair de laun.
Her parents are killing her natural gift. She definitely should avoid publicity and all kind of public performances at her age.She should practice all day and come out at 17-18 years old at least, not sooner, but in perfect condition to play close to perfection.Unfortunately America has a big problem...not enough patience. They turn this girl into some "freak genius".That is sad.
@dncviorel somebody's extremely jealous, you sound like Salieri talking about Mozart....a child playing in the streets of Salzburg, too many notes I think. If everyone with this kind of talent waited until they were 17/18 to perform they wouldn't be called prodigy's would they?
Just knowing that you think she should "practice all day," tells me all I need to know about your opinion concerning this talented child -- it isn't worth two bits.
TIKTAk do you know what the name of the song is Emily wrote and played a few seconds on the WGN9 special they did on her for her instructor Emilio? she played a little of it while they were saying she composed for him since he was ill.... it was such a lovely sounding song, i would love to hear the rest. Thanks :)
Whoever cued them to talk while she was still playing should work at McDonald's. When someone is playing classical music, shut up. It is also customary to continue to shut up for three seconds after they finish. Morons.
@hungvuhungvu actually Emily has been quite busy this summer, she has performed in China, Italy, Skokie, Ill and recently at a summer camp plus at the Coronado Theater in Rockford
@highestcrown the press might be the cause but its the piano she loves it its not like at age 3 her grandma said "sit down and play the piano!" no she was drawn to it
Okay wow. It's not just the fact that she can play amazingly - it's her playing for herself and that's what makes it amazing. She completely loses herself in the music and you can see on her face and in her movements how much passion she has and that's SO amazing! AND you can just tell she's going to grow up and be gorgeous and she's amazing! Oh you're so amazing Emily. Stay humble!
i am only 14 and i have been playing the piano for like 6 or 7 years and im still not that good, but i can play fur elis and some other songs really good.
I understand emily won an ascap award for her composition of northern lights, I loved it. Truely an amazing little girl. How much yall wanna bet that there's a hundred more little girls out there at the same capacity that the media or the world will never know about.
Emily Bear is quite possibly the most musically-talented person on Earth today. And she is a beautiful little girl, to boot. I'm awed by her gift and feel uplifted ...and depressed at the same time...depressed that I'll never know even a sliver of what Emily Bear already knows, at the age of 7. God bless her and her family. And God blessed humanity with this little girl. Her first composition was called ''Sunday Morning''.
Wait, in another video she says she was 3 when she started composing, and in this vid she says she was almost 5 when she started to play. Explain this....

Yeah, I think they sure missed out by not having a larger piece of that tune played for them on air. Just a few teaser opening bars, where she even sings along herself! (Where were their priorities anyways... :) )
