  • Giving isn't only giving monetarily. Stop being self centered and start serving where the Lord wants you to. Time at the congregation volunteering, soup kitchens, ministering to fatherless to elderly... not only tithing is giving

What If ure in need? A good steward will manage a way to pay the tithes, not to skip it. Skip it meaning.. not a good steward.

I pray that anyone reading this will have a sound mind to receive.

  • wow, I feel sad to see these comments, so many confused... can see that a good bible study is so important.

Dear people, if u wonder shud u tithe? this is what Jesus said "...yes, you should tithe, but you shouldn't leave the more important things undone." Matt 23:23 (TLB)

If you wonder if is a must?

Lev 27:30 (NIV) "A tithe of everything belongs to the LORD: it is holy to the LORD." We're not giving it, we're returning it.

  • CCKL rox!!!!

    i love my church!

  • tremenda fusionnnnnn!!!!

  • hala

  • i was there,on both nights, WOOHOO

  • Get people in....rile up their emotions and then collect their money and preach at them and send them on their way. Be honest with yourselves. How many christians have a time of day for you when you DONT give??? Be honest please. Givers of 10% and spend majority of their time at church are the ones who are favored the most. The poor in spirit never get fed by the word of God anymore, they get the guilt trip of not giving because that is why they are still poor. We must help the poor. Not ignore

  • u are correct in what u say aubhar, i am very confused why people dont look at the bible with the holy spirit, not to man

  • @aubhar I MUST disagree!! I am currently unemployed and going to a small church and I truly get fed the word of God!!

  • I got this same effect when I went to Judas priest concert when the crowds whistle and yelled. These churches are great money makers when it comes to tithes and offerings. Always guilt tripping the sheep into giving tithes and offerings. They do this through Malachi 3:8 and they say...who rob God? Then the pastor tell stories about others being blessed immensly because they gave. But very rarely these blessings never happened in their own churches. Always someone elses. You sheep are being duped

  • I pray that one day you will understand why we give tithes and offerings. I also will be praying for your salvation because you were created to praise Him and i believe one day you will be serving Jesus with your whole Heart.

  • Jacob never paid tithes but he made a vow to God Gen. 28:20-22

does not ask for money but fruit and vegtables and meat. Deut. 12:6-7).

levites were the only ones were worthy to take T AND Offerings and the tithes were for the poor...not church building and getting more members to take money from them.Leviticus 27:30-33

GIVE WHAT YOU HAVE, NOT WHAT YOU DONT HAVE.(II Cor. 8:10-12, The Living Bible).

    II Chronicles 31:5, 6, 12

So study the scriptures before you judge me. the old law is gone.

  • I think let's not be legalistic about tithes and offering. All in all, it's to demonstrate your trust and commitment to God. God never ask you to give what you don't have, but what you have, you give back to God as a form to recognising that He will provide for you. Do you think the God of the universe, who created the heaven and earth needs our money?no, He doesn't. As you give with a right heart, God will bless you, regardless of the amount. If ppl guilt trip you, don't be trapped, that's all.

  • i truly agree with u dude...that should be the most reasonable and practical way to carry out... no doubt!

  • You are duping yourself with your own words. Sorry man, but you're going the wrong way. I go to a decently large church and the pastor stands up every morning and reads off praise reports about how people tithed and gave based on faith and the Lord repaid them for trusting in him. That happens at my church, it happens every day, of every week. He reads them every Sunday to encourage others that are in a tough situation to step out in faith and just believe.

  • I have not tithed for a few years and I been blessed over and over again when I help people out and lend a hand. I also got 8 bags of groceries from someone last week. My wife and I were the only ones knew we needed groceries. i needed certain things for work, next day they were there waiting for me and i did not tell anyone. Not once have i given money to the church. I believe in helping the poor, widowas, handicapped etc. i am writing a book call "who is really robbing God? Pastors!

  • Well, that is absolutely great the God provided for you guys. It's good to hear stories like that. However, it seems that this is all about money, when it's not. You said that "The poor in spirit never get fed by the word of God anymore". In my life I want to know about God, I come to him and ask him to reveal himself to me through his word, the Bible, and he does it. It all comes down to faith. And not all pastors rob God, a lot of them do these days and it's sad but not all.

  • I don't understand why you think tithing is so bad. God commands that we as believers in him, that we should tithe the first 10% of our income. Now, if God, the Creator of the Universe, commands it, then shouldn't we obey? You listen to authority over you, if they say to pay taxes you do it right? Same with God. He commands it and we should obey no questions asked. The money raised from the tithe is used by the church to help the church grow and minister to people. That's what it's for.

  • The old testement = LAW

New testement = Grace through Jesus Christ

Show me in the new testement where we are commanded to pay 10% tax? Read the whole book of malachi and keep in mind...Father God was speaking to the isrealites. The gentiles were not in existence yet. Only the jews were to give tithes to the levite priest only! I pray you wake up and study what the word says to you and not your pastor. Ask your pastor to preach Gen. 28:20-22 and then see what he says....

  • Ok, I am Assembly's of God, so we tithe at our church. Unlike you, I will continue to listen to my pastor as he is a man of God. He preaches it, and I listen and learn. However, where in the Bible does it say that the Old Testament is no longer valid or shouldn't be considered anymore? Tithing is a way of supporting the church, and it's ministry to reach out to the lost. You obviously don't understand that.

  • However, God owns everything including our money. So, why don't we give back to him what is rightfully his. He gives so much to us, but you can't just give him 10%? I believe in supporting the church, and I believe in supporting the Church's efforts to draw people to Christ. That is what my tithe is used for and that's why I give it. You have your own belief, and I have mine. Your tithing problem is between you and God only. I love to tithe, and I give it with a cheerful heart.

  • If the people of the Old Testament were commanded by law to give 10% then how much should we give under grace?

  • Ok, I have read it in the new testement and it says if you are in need, do not give. Also, be ye good stewarts with your finances. Example, you make 400.00 per week, you pay 200.00 for rent, 100.00 for food, 50.00 for electrical bill, and 50.00 for telephone.... (How can you give $40.00 when you are command to be good stewarts of your money?) Pleaseeeeee in the name of God wake up and start searching the scriptures. Your being robbed by your pastors if he is money orientated.

  • I've never heard anywhere in the Bible where people MUST give 10% of tithes. THe main thing is we should give with a cheerful heart. That's found in COrinthians. It's up to people to give what they want. We shouldn't impose a limit, that will fall into our own preaching. We should not add to what God has said in His Word. If that matter is remained silent, then let it be silent. If you like 10% tithes, then it's of your cheerful heart, then it's a good thing :)

  • Umm.

    1 Timothy 5:17-18

Elders who do their work well should be respected and paid well, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, You must not muzzle an ox to keep it from eating as it treads out the grain. And in another place, Those who work deserve their pay!

Of course, if pastors are paid ridiculous amounts of money, that's not so good.

  • @aubhar Did you know that God can bless someone to lead them to Him?

  • @aubhar Giving what you don't have is apart of trusting God and having faith; like the woman that gave "I think Elijah or Ezekiel" the rest of her food when that was all she had left for herself and child, but since he was from God she had faith

  • THEY SHOULD COME to malaysia AGAIN!!!!!AHAH they both rock

  • i agree with helloitskevinagain...

  • In my opinion..

    Hillsong wins at fame!

but theres no fame in worshipping God!

    :D

  • totally agree

  • Good drumming for sure!

  • I think its hard to compare the two. Hillsong has created this genre of worship. Planetshakers has put their own spin to it. And they write songs differently. I just came from a Planetshakers concert. I feel like PS songs are songs from your own heart and focuses on personal worship between you and God. Hillsong has a lot of unison and is more about corporate worship. There's a lot of exceptions, but I'm just speaking generally. Praise God for both=)

  • Christian Extremism??

  • no, just extreme marketing.

  • extremely good marketing... and no more extreme than any other music in the world.. at least they don't use sex and stuff to market lol

  • true aye.

  • Well, I think it's more than just Planetshakers or Hillsong.

It's the time 4 churches all over the world unite in Christ,

It's more than just which one is better than another,

It's the time 4 us to move hand in hand to bring the presence of The Kingdom of God in our community,

It's the time 4 us as part of Christ's body to win more souls and bring back the lost to Him.

So stop comparing one to another!!!

  • Mike Guglielmucci is from hillsong or planet shakers?

Anyway, most of the Planet shakers' songs are rock songs. Very lively!

Their similarity is... both lyrics are so touching.

  • Planetshakers are WAYYYYY better. Hillsong gets to much publicity.

  • if you're going to say one band's better than another based on how much publicity they recieve, then why aren't you pushing vineyard UK or Generation unleashed? both awesome bands, with some different sounds out of the london group and some pretty darn good technical work from GU in the US.

i want to live to see australian youth realise that there are more than two worship bands in the world..

  • well they can probably realise that.. but as far as aus goes.. hillsong and planetshakers are the biggest and best.. but there are lots of other awesome ones.. even in australia. like citipointe live

  • When are Planetshakers come to Malaysia again?

Their band is so alive!!! Love all their songs of praise....

  • Both groups are awesome! Hillsong and Planetshakers are the best groups in the praise and Worship category, no doubt for that!

Planetshakers I think is more for youth people, but Hillsong for me is an universal movement that God uses to change conceptions in Christian music. The best of both has been the well achieved musical evolution through the time that they have served the Lord!

  • i think this is old

  • they will be at city church kl???

is it a concert or smtg..

  • they are the best

  • i Think both groups aare great 'cuz they worship the Lord... it doesn't matter if their music is rock metal or whatever... the most important is the inspiration of their music... GOD!!!!! and in my personal opinion first i listened hillsong but i love planetsahker's music too... i hope they can come to MExico very soon again!!! because hillsong's concert in August 2007 was amazing....

  • Oh cool, they came to Malaysia.I thought they were coming this year ;)

    Oh well,They ROCK!!!!!!!

  • Hillsong is better

  • one night a man dreamed he was walking with god on a beach

Scenes frm his life flashed in the sky

and each scene there were 2 sets footprints on de sand:1 belonged 2 him and 1 2 god

after de last scene he looked back

He noticed dat many times along the path of his life there were 1 set of footprints

He oso noticed it hapened during his suferings

This bothered him so he asked de lord

"Y did u leave me at those times? there is oni one set of footprints"

"It was at that time i carried you"

  • when is this all happening?

  • yo escuche primero a planetshakers y despues a hillsong asi que para mi es primero planet y ademas es mas rock imaginense a estos dos grupos tocando en un solo disco

  • no they didnt!

there songs are completely different from hillsongs. and they aim more of their songs at youth and younger ppl. theres no way they copied hs tho!

    planet shakers r sIk!

  • This is cool! Can anyone give more details on whom from Hillsong and whom from Planet Shakers are coming to CCKL? Tks
