  • it is a really big one

  • God i love spiders

  • This is hard to take :()

  • i remeber doing this once in my garden put the fly onto its web the spider was out in under a second gave me the chills lol

  • good vid though ,that fella was hungry, i am betting it was indoors eh?

  • I feel totaly better now that i know it's the 'common house spider' :S

  • seriously spiders kill in the most horrible way imaginable.

first you get wrapped up - their silk ismeant to be as strong as steel used to make bridges - so imagine being WRAPPED in it - definately no escape! Then.. they paralyse you anyway , youre still alive, just paralysed - then later on, when theyre hungry they come back to eat you (alive) so you feel all of it.

Thank good most of them are only about 1 cm

  • @superdave31 most give a small parallyzing shot first , than wrap

  • @superdave31 actually, if you're paralysed like that you can't breath either, so you'd effectively suffocate (most likely) before the spider started to eat you. That's no help though. Also, the tensile strength (how hard you can pull it before it breaks) of spider silk is vastly higher than the tensile strength of a steel wire of the same thickness - unfortunately it's much too stretchy to be usable for construction, if we could get that much in the first place.

  • For Golden Orb Spider...I got no clue, but hey, do I look like an Expert on these?

  • If spiders has fur, it will attack you, if it doesn't it wont attack you

  • what about the golden orb spider?

  • not true black widows dont have fur and they are known to be very aggresive

  • @holysnackpack They are NON aggressive. Only in self defense and as a last resort do they bite.

  • Those are cool spiders. We have them in your fence too. They're wickedly fast. They don't bite, when I catch them they just sit on my hand.

  • they can do it's just unlikely that they will. If you are unlucky you can be bitten. Me? I've been bitten 3 times!

  • any side effects? lol

  • just swelling and it itches like crazy, it's like being stung by a wasp

  • commom in your house, not in mine!!!

    I clean mine!

    :P

  • do spiders have eye's.

  • Yes 8 eyes

  • scary web lol dont wanna put my hand in that shit nice movie tho 5/5

  • very good movie dude!

  • best spider ever^^

  • WOOP WOOP!!

  • :D ahahaha the spiders liek, THANKS FOR DINNER!!!

  • um what antidote ehh im french if that matters and uh the fly didnt seem parallive dare

  • "The reaction time to the fly being dropped on the web seems unparalled to any other insect." It's not an insect, and the reaction time wasn't that fast. Nevertheless, good cid.

  • While i was watching this video i was locking all over my room lol iam afraid to touch the dark ground at my room i hate fucking spiders!

  • me toooo!!!!:(

  • @Wortszin dont check under yer bed but above it... they repel down like army rangers an crawl in yer month an hang out. Then cum back for 2nd tomrrow

  • that was freaken awesome!

  • Spiders aren't insects.

  • i got the chills omgggggg lmao scary

  • i have arachnaphobia, just whatching this video make me creeps

  • It looks like a grass spider. They live in tube webs. But this could be a house spider...

  • Has anyone heard of them being called 'Brown Recluse' spiders? I thought a brown recluse had more destinct features like the brown violin on the back and curved in front legs and mutch larger than this one in the video... Anyone know what kind of spiders were used in Arachnophobia? Did they use grass spiders in some of the filming???

  • I'm almost certian that they used the australian huntsman as the main spider. (As in, the ones that swarm the house and kill everyone in the movie). Check them on wikipedia, they're exactly the same as the spiders in arachnophobia.

  • I once had a huntsman spider lay eggs in my bedroom which hatched and there were hundreds of baby spiders that almost entirely covered my ceiling! We captured and released some of them but sucked most of them up with the vaccume cleaner. A few days later I was in bed, tossing and turning. Unable to sleep, I turned on the light and the mother spider crawled out of my bed! She was the biggest huntsman I've ever seen!

So you could say that I've sort of experienced Arachnophobia (the movie)

  • the spider was kickin it.. next thing BAM! Dinner

  • I see the exact kind in Nebraska all over the crevouses in our foundation and bricks on our porch, even in the garden and grass! I've heard them called 'grass spiders' and also 'wolf spiders', but trust me wolf spiders are larger and more dangerous..I wonder if these things bite humans, I'm sure they do it's their common defense towards predators.

  • My grandfather and I were playing around with some wolf spiders once.when you tap next to them they just face you.I imagion they can bite, but not usualy unless you do somthing to piss them off.

  • thats one big spider!!!

the biggest spider in my house was the size

of 4 quarters (although i live in NH)

    any way thats scary!!!

  • theres NO fucking way thats a 'house spider'. I hate them so much, I don't want a 'house spider' it makes wanna cry because there could be one of those in my house somewhere.

    holy shit

  • thats scares me... makes me more scared of spiders....

  • thats a big house spider

  • spiders are fuckin cool, and that comes from a guy with arachnaphobia =)

  • Omg I'm gonna cry.

    Spiderthingack!

  • If you slow down the video, you can see the spaider in mid air jumping onto the fly! Whoa.

  • ive seen one of those things in my basement! i couldnt kill it it was to fast. then i saw it a few minutes later and hit it with a hammer haha

  • my fucking bitch ... i seen this one in my house and i wanted to kill em but hes just fast. kill the bastard

  • spiders are cool. They eat horrible flys!!!!!

  • omg what if that was my toe! i hate spiders! i try to let me them outside if they are tiny though.

  • That video was so scary. I hate spiders. people who like spider are just freaks.

  • maybe you're the freak

  • awesome video of one amazing creature.

  • I jumped in my chair here!! That noise and that beast running toward the camera! Better go check myself, before I wreck myself!! ha

  • Why is it that people who are afraid of spiders mostly like snakes?

  • its not the common house spider

  • hey i am so fucking afraid of those creatures. I do really know that this behaviour is cheap, however, what can i do about it?

  • Cute

  • It's a house spider, though it lives at the attics, garage, etc :)

Spiders are cool if you know how to handle them. If you are afraid of these fine creatures well maybe you're paranoid or have arachnofobia?

I did not like spiders too, but hell now I have two of them: Brachypelma smithi and Psalmopoeus cambridgei (one fucking speedy spider ^^).

  • so I know that spiders basically "suck" the insides out their prey out and do not eat it whole. What does the mouse look like after its been "eaten"? post a vid of that I would like to see it.

  • i like spiders for what they eat they kill annoying flies and really annoying midgies

  • yeah spiders are fucking ugly shit!!! i hate em why cant they just die :S

  • yeah gd point Shobecool, but big or small i cant stand them

  • I don't think the spider is very big guys...look at the ratio to the fly...

  • CHUFFIN BIG FLY!!!!

  • that spiders MASSIVE!

    hate them sooo much!!

  • i dont liek the look of that spider!!!! i hate big spiders! lol are you sure thats HOUSE spider? i aintever seen one like tht n i hope i dont have to!

  • WELL THATS A BIG FUCKING SPIDER TO ME

  • That looks allot like a Tegenaria Gigantica except its smaller size and silverish back. All I can say is that its a female.

  • Lolz did you purposely put that dead fly into the web? Would be nice if you got it from all angles.

  • That's interesting that the funnel spider went after a paralyzed fly rather than a moving one. If the insect doesn't move, they usually don't even know it's there. They act on vibrations from movement. Very good footage of the spider and the fly. Maybe National Geographic might have themselves a future filmographer on hands.
