Guys remember it was dark. When power lines clank together causing arcing and transformers explode it can cause many colors in the night sky. You could have brilliant blue-white lightning-arcs, green or even red and orange.

I saw similar flashes in the First of the two big Earthquakes when Landers went in Southern California which if I recall was about 6:00 AM and still dark.

This doesn't explain the rainbow sky in China but still we need to slow down a bit before jumping to conclusions.
