Who gets right behind someone in a hard braking zone like that anyway. Especially someone wearing a bright ass orange shirt alerting everyone that he's new.
But it was just a bad situation, you looked to be pinned in that position. Glad you're ok.
I wish I could have missed u up the inside. I try and never pull a move that would be unsafe. I know at the end of the day is all 4 fun and we all have to get back to work on monday. I was not out of control at all I just thought u were running hotter than that. sorry I couldnt miss ya.. hope we get to race again in the near future.
Hey Im the guy that made the mistake and ran into the back of Gixxersixxer. I made up a lot of ground out of the kink onto the straight and though I would get up the inside. saw u run and knew u were turning a good pace thats why I thought we were both doing in deeper than that. there was a guy on my left and if we had gone into T1 a little farther I would of had his inside line. I was running 1:03 on worn tires sat and sun morning, had on some fresh ones for the sprints.
He's doing fine now. Just a bit of rash on his leg. Initially had had a pretty bad concussion. He kept asking the same questions over and over again every couple seconds and had to go to the hospital
So if GS brakes as hard as everyone seems to think, how come the two riders that he split passes are not shooting up the side of him in video at braking?
I think Monger was asorbed with getting back around GS and lost his brake or corner marker, just a few random thoughts
I have watched the video five more times all the way through. Two Tyres is right and GS passes Monger the lap before after drafting him down the straight. If Monger saw this perhaps he assumed that GS was quicker than him and it would be safe to follow him through a corner. Again for the third time Monger's fault for making an assumption. GS was still hard on the brakes when he got hit at the 100, It appears as though he did start braking at 400. I have no skin in this game! Lots of brakes.
I actually find poor braking to be the primary thing that scares the cr-p out of me at races. I carry a lot of corner speed, because I'm fat and can't go fast on the straights, and have almost ass packed quite a few guys who park it in the corners. Follow an old guy who has been racing a while around the track and you will notice how fast they pull away in the corners. All braking, or lack thereof. Look at NJMP in the superbike race last weekend, perfect example of lack of braking. Race on!
I'm assuming the orange shirt riders are newbs. When I used to race in WERA back in 1984 they put a big duct tape X on back of helmets to beware of unpredictable behavior. That warning was ignored here. Following that guy so closely in so much traffic was not a good idea.
I agree that it is Monger's fault, but just because you are fast does not mean you know what you are doing in a race situation. GixxrSixxr you hit the brakes way too freaking early and hard. Any rider would have expected that because you were running as fast as you were that you would be carrying way more corner speed. The simple fact is that Monger should have respected the orange shirt more and given you more room.
i know times dont mean shit, but to run them times how can you say im not carrying corner speed. you make it sounds like im parking it in the corners.how can you tell me i hit them way to freaking early? i hit the brakes at the 4 marker. i just passed 2 dudes on 750's by carying more speed, of course im going to hit them hard. if monger is so fast he should have went up the inside of me and passed me since i need to "carry way more speed"
I did not say that Monger was so fast and I agree he should have gone up the inside, but hindsight is 20/20. If you are braking that hard at the 4 marker then I still say your braking too hard too early. Are you back on the gas before you enter the corner? Are you coasting before the corner? If you answer yes to either then you are braking too early. I don't think your slow, just think how much faster you would be if you carried more corner speed.
i let off the brake and apply some maintenance throttle and then pick the throttle up at the apex.. im not jensen or gaige and can trail brake to the apex then pick the throttle up immeditely and hammer out of there and of course i know i can carry more corner speed, all of us can, but im carrying enough speed that you shouldnt be running into the back of me.
look at the video again. The previous lap 45 passed monger in T1 on the inside. Monger should have been well aware of the speed 45 was carrying as it was more than his own. Monger just made a screw up. we have all done it. just admit to it without trying to pass the blame.
BTW, #45 i see you finished on the podium in Saturdays solo.
Nobody's pist at you GixxrSlxxr we all know it was Monger's fault. And we were all commenting on how fast you were being able to keep up with Monger and pass our buddy in the dreads. You expect most yellow shirts to just be lap traffic. You asked "How did you get on the breaks harder than you needed?" Let me rephrase that, you got on the breaks harder than Monger did, he was prepared to take that corner a lot faster. Sorry for the confusion.
Damn, talk about an asspacking - jk13072 is dead on, wrong guy was wearing the orange shirt for sure.
Man up, admit the mistake and move on. Blaming a guy you could have seriously hurt by a bone head mistake and while doing a few grand worth of damange to his bike is just about pathetic.
If Monger thinks that he is not at fault, maybe he should ask the provisional novice to give him his orange shirt so he can wear it around the track instead. Mistakes happen, dont blame your faults on someone else. Glad everyone walked away.
im the rider your buddy hit. how did i get on the brakes harder then i needed too? do you even know the pace i was running that weekend? i wasnt hot for the corner at all, and i was just tipping it in when your buddy thought it would be sweet to asspack me. dont you know you dont go into a braking zone right behind someone else? they tell you that in the riders school for pete's sake. its not my fault plain and simple, so dont try to make it out like it was
if the rider in front of him checked up, then why didn't his buddy with the dreads go by him? He had the inside line... He was rear ended... the provisional is hardly a new rider at all and was pulling 102s all day Sat...
I am the guy with the dreads! I seen it happen a little closer than i would have liked! It's Mongers fault but that guy hit the brakes so fuckin hard there was no way to avoid hittin him! i knew the guy was slow in this corner! I was gonna take him on the outside but we all know what happened next!
45 is on a superstock 600, pulled you on the straight and the camera bike couldn't pass so i don't know how slow he could have been considering you both are on 750's. He has to carry more corner speed and get a better drive just to match the extra HP and CC of the bigger bikes.
that's not me and he was paying attention, the rider in front got on the breaks way harder than he needed to for that turn. It was his first race weekend (that's what the orange shirt is for) and he decided he was too hot for the corner while everyone else kept pace. Our guy just happened to be the one behind him
THAT WAS NOT KOOL..............

WOW, way to ass pack someone!
just because he is wearing an orange shirt doesn't mean its his first time on the track. He actually dipped in to the 1.01 on sat.
I looked at my laps for Eric monger and he was only doing 1.05's last time.
Ass packing someone is the fault of the ass packer, plane and simple.
I hope the other guy who was hurt is ok.
