God, this just makes me think this version was a swing-and-a-miss for KEY until they redid it in 2006 and had CLANNAD and AIR TV. They learned, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE AN UPGRADED KAZAHANA/AFTER STORY!!!

@rockangel4586 Kanon 2006 is a remake they both happen at the ssame time but kanon(2006) is dubbed better quality and it dosnt have an OVA i know u wrote this 3 months ago but im just saying it for other readers aswell.

ive only seen the 2006 version of the kanon anime. Whats the differences between the 02 and 06. I cant really watch the 02 one now caus it'll probably draw me in and im 2 busy @ the moment to go into otaku mode and watch a whole anime series. I know theres only 13 eps but still.

i know there is a new kanon. the same story but the new version is better. you only have to search: kanon 2006 episode 1 then you can find it. it have 24 episodes

Thanks for posting, I do agree that the second Kanon is richly detailed but the first one is always what started it. And of course what animator worth his or her salt is going to settle for mediocre if they can do better. I do like that they cut out for the most part Yuichi's calling girls idiot. As for this OVA you have to admit to see Makoto again is great. I'll ask this have they done any Kanon past this series or the second one. Curios?

Kanon 2006 has Kyoto Animation animating it. The same animators for Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Air, and my favorite of all CLANNAD.
