  • so this massive structure is made from steel?

    and it floats on water?

    and it still burns?

burns so bad that you can't extinguish it?

burns right through the steel containers and hull and sinks it?

    laws of physics fail

  • Youtube is for videos.

  • environmental dissaster

  • Woops my bad turns out to be korean Not Chinese

  • la marina holandesa lo hizo

  • Was it realy necessary to fire on that freight ship? :P

  • @Peacekeeper118, warships would fire back :/

  • flicker is for photos, youtube is for videos

  • Beautiful...

  • I was going to guess that it was the Atlantic Conveyor after being hit by an Argentinian exocet missile in the Falklands War.

  • A slide show disguising itself as a video.

  • it smells money..

  • do they have insurence on those containers

  • It's funny how in the middle of the ocean you can get mostly clear pictures like this but the surveilance video from a 7-11 doesn't even let you know if the robber has a face.

  • Hello GEICO. Click.

  • imagine if thoes crates were full of exsplosives.

  • This explains why my ship never came in.

  • Damn. There's goes my Hyundai...

  • @triathlete77 Well, hyundai is crap anyway:D but yeah sucks to have your car in it :D

  • oh so that why all my canned tomatoes are burnt!!

  • It's indeed the Dutch Navy, I was on that ship it's called Zeven Provinciën

I't was a huge fire, at night you saw the melted iron pouring down in the ocean.

  • @patricklieffering Hi Patrick

Thanks for the information. It must have been a horrifying experience, I am glad you are safe.

  • @patricklieffering

    Yeah holland!

  • @patricklieffering Actually, this is the danish 'Absalon'

Zeven Provinciën has a much darker deck

  • Chinese Crap. crazy stuff they carry from China that may explode at any time. I'm a Merchant Mariner and I've seen the weird shit leaking from the containers from China. Just good to see the US Navy on scene when they need them. It's a good feeling

  • US Navy lmao it's the DUTCH navy, it's a good feeling.

  • hard ships-- is that what theyre calling it now? lol just kidding

  • The Hyundai Misfortune (Its actually the Hyundai fortune, only that happened)

had an explosion of an unknown origin.

It's beleived to be a pool chemical?

Then a second explosion not much later of Fireworks on the ship.

  • You know whats feeding that fire? Cheap textiles from China and some Ikea Bóink particle board furniture.

  • True that alot of water is available but excessive water could add alot of stress and could cause other damages or break the ship into 2. stability calculation must be carried out. methods like starvation and containment is more effective rather than spraying tons of water.

  • on board can be chemicals who can react with water so they can be explode or something too

  • The navy ship is the Dutch frigate Hr. Ms. De 7 Provinciën..

  • l.o.l. HYUNDAI,yes HYUNDAI :P

  • l.o.l. hyundai "misfortune" it looks like someone put a big firecracker in all those LEGO'S :P

  • "Hundai Fortune" is the ship caught on fire

  • that is one hell global warming pollution!

  • i think the cargo is not declared what it has inside of it, hope the crew will survive.

  • Bad !!!!!

  • A container consist of fireworks caught fire while at mid ocean. If not mistaken at Indian Ocean.

  • ironic how there is so much water around but it cant be used to put out the fire.

  • Funny how the word "ironic" at times can be so right while being so wrong...

  • Steel containers would not stop a fire if it was hot enough.

  • Did everybody survive? I sure hope so...

  • NO NINJAS turtles !!!

  • NINJAS

  • ships name is hanjin pensylvania.

imo classified cargo like nitrates caused this fire i heared...

  • Thanks for the info they were just pics sent ot me that looked interesting

    All the best

    dave

  • Hi,

it think that was caused by one or more containers with fireworks.

  • That's one is Hyundai Fortune, not Hanjin Pensylvania.

  • @Seppel10k No, it is not a Hanjin ship. It is a Hyundai ship. They are both South Korean companies, but Hanjin seems to be run much better. I specialize in refrigerated intermodal containers and sailing on huge containerships/ working on the docks in the best paying merchant marine and longshoreman unions in the world.

  • think of all the bmws..

  • thats the same ship I video taped a couple years ago. Were you on scene as well?

  • i geuss some IMO no?

  • imo - international maritime organization. A body under UN to take maritime issues

  • how the hell did this happen
