  • I borrowed her wicca book and studied every entity that is listed in it and I know for sure that she does not know the history and myth surrounding each entity. She has not studied Christianity enough to know why she doesn't believe. And it is important for these young adults to be better informed before they bounce from religion to religion. Agree with your approach to these questions from teens, disagree with your religion.

May you find the One True God

    Peace

  • Quite impressive. I am a born again Christian who has been facing a teen (now she is 18) getting into wicca. I will not allow anything wiccan in my home, but what she does outside my home is her path to finding what she believes....I wish she had watched this video before coming to me...your advise was sound (although I strongly disagree with the pagan/wiccan path). It is great advice to study what you believe and why..too many people don't have enough knowledge about their religion.

  • this video is super great i think it not just for the under 18s i could be for everybody thanks 4 sharing

  • i am a christian witch my mom is very under standing i even attend a very spirit annionted church and i even sing for the church and i agree with u

  • I go to a Catholic school and they refuse to admit paganism to be a real religion and force me to get blessed etc. by a father every week. I try to be respectful that they believe in that but they are really annoying me.

  • Omg like my piano techer and bus lady i know theyre all like really old so they know the pas ttheyre all like "Dont do it it is devil worshipping it includes hell you should not get involved i was like oh ok :/ :)" But :/ i am so confused now cause im christian.and my dad when i talk about witches and spellbooks hes like come on dont be crazy good thing he doesnt know i want to be wiccan..and is it true that wicca is evil?Because i really am confused :/

  • @korbelic12345 it realy is what the person is like. if the wiccen wants harm to come to others then it is evil or came be evil but if the wiccen dose not want harm to come to others then it is good or can be good, it is just how you think about it and how the person acts with the power it could be to powerful wichcould make them go crazy with power and we all know that would be bad then again it could go the opposit as i said befor it is more of what the person is like.

  • @sealand421 k its like the wiccan rede umm no harm done

  • @korbelic12345 Wicca is NOT evil. We don't believe in Satan or hell or any of that. Don't worry about what they say. I promise you.

  • @ADayInTheOcean k :D

  • i saw this and i was like I HAVE TO SEE THIS! because i live in a house of Catholics so i have issues with them Blessed Be )O(

  • my mum is paranoid about my beliefs which is incredibly fustrating because i have explained what i'm all about and she isn't responding in a possitive way. i want to practice my faith more. i have considered myself wiccan for about 4 years now and i have studied wicca and read up about it till im blue in the face and i only have a handful of supplies which i have to keep secret. i would love to live in an environment where i can be comfortable practicing my faith.

  • @StephenEOfficial

    tell me about it....

  • I consider myself Goetian... But seriously NOT Satanic. Wicca , Pagan , Goetian it's all good to me if you know what your talking about. :)

  • My parent won't allow me to practice. They tell me I am going to hell and yell at me all the time. They have cried because I told them I don't agree with them. They still make me go to church and revivals and I don't agree at all. They preach againt witch craft and other religions. I feel like getting up and just leaving. To me they seem so close minded. I believe in who I am, but sometimes it is hard when they are so strongly against me. :(

  • @BRADpaisley21 look it may be hard to deal with and i know how you feel trust me but show them some facts and it might be better than the way it is now if that dose not work you might have to lie and i know that that is a hard thing to do to the people that gave you life but if they dont like that you want to be a wiccan than that is what you must just be yourself and if u must tell them this if they love you thenthey would want you happyand god loves us no mater the religon and he was actuly .

  • a jew and i know a lot of jews who love everyone no mater the religon or the way they act allso tell them that wiccans arnt evil they love the earth, anything, and everyone on it we are not negativeactuty we are the opposit. freedom of religon includs mine and yours.we all should be able to to pick our religon and not follow others if we want to thats why your you live were you live right so they should love you mater what so yea!!! keep trying my wiccan brother or sister.

  • I am pagan... 14 years old... My parents are christian... my mom said "I don`t have to worry as long as I know my kids are going to heaven" They don`t know i`m pagan... I tell them that I love incenses and knives... and stuff in order to get it... which is`nt lying... I really do, I just don`t tell them, why I like it.... Iv`e been trying to figure out a way to tell my parents... It`s really hard.....

  • Flora, I could not tell any better! Right on! Listen to me, boys and girls, THIS woman is RIGHT. This is the very first video with which I actually agree. I am a Christian Wiccan, I do believe in The Creator (Christian God) and I do believe and practice Magic and Wicca. Many people says these two is unjoinable, but, as for me, it IS joinable. So, heed the words of Flora, and Blessed Be! )O(

    P. S. Just listen very carefully what Flora is saying and I hope you shall be on the right path.

  • as an universalist minister and 1st degree pagan priest and also back again member of the oto ,the way i broke it down to my parents was teaching them and having substantial evidence backing up my believes again research against a vague sorta belief you have to do reasearch to back up your arguments or discussion and that will be also good for the foundation of your beleive system BB)O(93

  • omg thx! finally someone mentions Spirit :) thts my element and most ppl dont mention it. I'm going to try your advice to my mom, she thinks im smoking pot in my room cuz of the candles. Hopefully she'll be ok with the whole pagan thing

    Blessed be )O(

  • Even though my mom isn't a Christian and purely a Witch, she's not open to the concept of anything. She thinks of herself as an eclectic solitary witch, but not religious, and not open minded to rituals, or anything. I try to talk her into it, but she's against it. No rituals, no sabbats, no esbats, just reading about it and planning on doing it, but never actually doing it. I don't want to work alone. I want friends who are witches like me. It gets lonely, you know? Great video! :D

  • I sorta knew I wasn't Christian when i was 7-8. I was terrified to tell my grandparents who are raising me. My birth mother was a pagan priestess and I saw how her parents treated her, which eventually lead to her suicide. I began to practice in hiding. I kept all my tools and supplies locked in a foot locker which I slide under my bed. About a year ago I told them and they accepted me. Today they practice paganism and have found inner harmony! I am so grateful. Flora's videos helped alot! )O(

  • @eliask93 that is amazing! but i do feel very sorry for your mother... Blessed be! )O(

  • im 14 my mother said i can be a wiccan but i dont know where to get started?

  • Thank you very much im 11 and i love stones and nature and when i was 6 i loved pagan things

  • i practice at like 1 - 4 in the morning. ... i dont see how i could tell my mom... expecially when her bible wants me to be burned at the stake. i only know what i get from the web.. Im a 14 yr. old wiccan in a christian house.

  • im 15 and extremly new to paganism....i feel like im very in over my head and overwelmed, can anyone give me advice as to where to start?

  • This really made me think...im always like 'yes im pagan' but i never really wondered why? Why do i believe this? Thank you for posting this....

  • I watched this because i know what your videos are about but as soon as you said "who live in a christian house hold" i was like "YES!!!" lol :3

  • hello am 17 and currently living in a Christian household -_-...sucks

ADOW- Attention defi....OW SHINY!!!! XD funny

  • I'm not sure what to do, the Pagan faith really resonates with me, but my family is Catholic. I'm stuck.

  • @TheLyreGuy hey! im in the exact same position as you. im even going to a catholic highschool. i would really love for you to message me and tell me all about your situation, maybe we could help each other. im 16 btw, so feel free to hmu :P

  • Wouldn't coming out "harm" your family at least emotionally? So, I guess I'm asking you to help me understand how this would fit into your "harm none" interpretation? I am NOT in any way trying to be condescending! I am curious because it seems as if it would be... contradictory?

My personal veiw is: When it all boils down to it, they are harming themselves by not being able to accept the lifestyle of another.

  • betraying my own. I just want to experience it. My family is actually a hard-core Christian believer. So I will stay on the Christian path but -- I will study.

  • I believe in God. I really do. I am a baptist and I believe in only one. But I am very interested in this, I can't say that its wrong to believe in Gods and Goddesses but I don't. I was just simply convinced. I wanna practice stuff like this because its very interesting and it amazes me. My mom found out once that I was researching this and she got mad at me. I thought she wasn't gonna talk to me again. So I keep it a secret. I believe if she found out she would be disappointed but I am not

  • When I started my year and a day training, my mom asked me what Wicca was.

I made her a 62 side power point. It was LONG~

  • i said it to my mom but she got mad and now i'm crying inside :'(

My dad is very in to the christian path so i don't know what to do.

hes coming home for 2 days and i don't know what to say to him.

    Please help me now.

  • @wiccanwicca hey, if you still need some help, you can message me. im 16 now, and believe it or not, ive been on the path for about 3 years now. my parents STILL dont know. but i make it work. hmu if u wanna.

  • you're video was so helpful thank you for putting it up. I'm starting to sit down and really think about what being pagan means to me. I had never listed and put together why i love it so much i just kind of went with my emotions. living in a christian house hold i keep it a secret, but before i tell it i want to understand myself and see if pagan/wiccan is what calls to me and why. Again thank you so much!

  • I want you.

    lol joke!

  • lol this sounds like a school assignment. "find what you believe in and back it up"

  • there are those people who dont want anything to do with Christianity and thats ok. however i feel as if being Wiccan, you can also incorporate many Christian theological ideas. the idea of Deity having much love for you is one thing. the idea of loving your neighbor, and believing Jesus as a teacher are other beliefs. in my opinion the three beliefs of Deity having one form, sin separating you from Deity, and Hell are somethings that i dont see in the Wiccan religion.

  • My parents are Atheists and they are against every single religion in the world. Thats why I´m so afraid to tell them. At least if they were Christian, I could tell them something about the origin of their holidays.. I need help!!!!!! Blessed Be )0(

  • @FireWillow06 I can relate. My mom is an atheist and she made me question my belief in God when I was very young. She said that she encourages me looking into faiths as an adult, but I have not been raised with religion. I am now interested in Paganism and Wicca, even though I have yet to read books about it or do any rituals. But, just keep in mind that you are not alone. Stay strong with your beliefs! )O( blessed be

  • Thank you so much!

I thought Wicca and anything similar was bad, but I got a little interested in Wicca after I watched "The Craft" (which was scary, but had a few good things). Then I realized that...yeah. If it's not against "Do what you will, if it harms none", I'm okay with that!

Anyway, I guess I am just glad that you helped me with finding my true self. I am still Christian/Catholic, but I am looking into Wicca...very much.

    Thank you!!! :)

  • Blessed be 2 you! Sound advice and very well played. It is very hard to advise youngsters about this kind of shit. If their folks are Christian, chances are they want to be Pagan simply because they know that will piss their folks off! Then again, there will always be the odd one who has a genuine reason to believe. Tough ground to walk on and you have done it quite well PixieFlora! Respect.

  • I dont know what I believe exactly but it seems right that theres a God and Goddess, because its about equality and I hate there not being equality! I love nature and using herbs and stones but I my Dad thinks its strange and my Mum said she would be fine with it, but I think they think Im kinda stupid for wanting to believe what I do.

  • yayyyy is like your catch phrase

  • what is pegen and wicken?

  • @LiveLaughTheatre Pagan and wiccan. We're an earth based religion that generally worships both a goddess and a god. We also worship the elements (Earth air water and fire), And we strongly belive in the three fold law (What you do will come back to you but three times as strong) Hope I helped. If not, google is awsome!!

  • @LiveLaughTheatre Its spelled Pagan and Wiccan.

  • what is pegen?

  • @LiveLaughTheatre it's supposed to be Pagan and Wiccan

  • hey umm im 10 and mi mom and dad will let me practis mi migic and i need a good spell book could you send me a good link of a real spell book

  • @afkfriday1029 Try "The Spells Bible", it's a great book! :)

  • My step-grandmother gave me a book on Wicca. She said it would be nice to have another Pagan in the family, so I should read up to see if I was interested. I SO WAS! I love everything about Paganism. I love the whole Nature worship idea, and the God and the Goddess. I have told my mom about Paganism, just random facts so she could get used to it. She got me a book and she even let me order a pentacle necklace. Yet, she doesn't want to let me practice Paganism.

  • man this video would have helped me if i saw it a year ago :p XD thank fuly my parents are supporting my belife even tho there not pegan

  • Ok if your so called religion bases its art on nature. prove that a "rock" carries energy. I would like to see that.

  • @TheShelbyiskool It's a basic physics lesson that you learn in school : at the deepest level we are made of atoms that move or "vibrate". And atoms consist out of the nucleus ( protons and neutrons) and electrons and inbetween them is energy. That's what keeps the subatomic particles together. So, yes, everything is energy. Have a beautiful day :)

  • @TheShelbyiskool how dose a rock not carry energy? i would love to see that

  • I have tried to talk to my parents about Paganism MULTIPLE times. They're Mormon and refuse to even let say the word "Wicca". I've now been practicing on my own for almost 3 years. I have my own youtube channel and I think my mom knows what I'm doing (because I have my altar set up in plain view) but she refuses to confront me on it. I think once I turn 18 (in 2 and a half years) I'll tell them that I don't believe in their religion. There's not much they can do about it then (:

  • My mom's atheist, and my dad's agnostic. So its alot harder to convince them to even understand believing in anything, not just to tell them that I want to practice. They'd think I'm completely nuts. My parents have literally called Wicca "harmless but derranged", not knowing that I practice. So I don't think I'll be telling them anytime soon...

  • I've been interested in Wicca since I was 12, I'm 15 now. I told my Dad about it, he said It's completely up to me, but I told my Mom and she got really mad at me cuz she's Catholic. I have to do to this stuff without her knowing. This video inspired me to tell my parents. Thanks, you rock. =D

  • this is a VERY good video i have to practice in secret because of the whole christian thing and i still worship god,so i absolutely must practice in secret, and ive held it out for 3yrs,cant wait till i get my own house so i can be ME.this video rly touched my heart.you are a very good person.blessed be

  • When I told my parents, my mom was fine with it, but my dad started forcing me the read the Bible and actually physically forced me to genuflect in church and take Communion. It's still going on...it hurts.

  • my dad is the one who thinks that magic is dangerous but he knows me and i really want to practice wicca i think if i do it will open my mind and see the world better than i do now. i'm 10 and smethings your saying don't make scence but i can remember what i learned about the stars and somehow i know what your saying thanks for the advice -Riley

  • I wish I could come out to my parents about me being pagan. But the last time I even tried to defend the craft I was thrown into a george forman grill and was strangled then smacked. My incense, my candles, and my journal were all thrown away and I was told that If I were to believe or practice such a thing that he would gladly hit me again. If i were to come out and say my beliefs that would ultimately lead to divorceTurns out my mom promised that she would divorce him if he ever touched me again

  • This is soooo comforting coming from a parent yourself! It gives me great confidence to one day tell my mom what I believe (once I figure that out for myself!).

  • today i decided that i would tell my mom i am wiccan. she then asked what wiccans believe and after i told her she said, oh if thats what they believe then i am wiccan too. nice to know i might have another wiccan in the house :).

  • My parents are both Christian, but they're basically okay with my being an Eclectic Pagan, although my dad regards it as something as a joke. My brothers are something of a problem; one is really little and always tries to get into my altar stuff. The slightly older brother is Christian, and is rather uncomfortable with my beliefs. Blessings to everyone here, and thanks for the advice, great video! :)

  • ha ha i acually DID write a paper about Wicca to show to my parents, and they took a look at the title "what wicca is and isn't" and they threw it away :(, at first they just blew me off and told me to go prey for forgiveness O.o but now (after 5 years of my studying) they finally told me "ok just don't practice in the house" which is ok because outside is a better practice area in my opinion ^.^

  • I'm 16, I've been blessed with a mom who is okay with me being Wiccan as long as she isn't made. I've slowly been getting my brother to relax abit and he has start too. I've always grown up Christian but it just so forced..and fake. I've always been attracted to Wiccan, herbs, stones and everything. When I got together with some of my pagen friends & was talking to them I got to learn more & then I told my mom & she let me. It feels good letting them know what I believed & them saying okay

  • My dad doesn't care, it's my mom that does cuz shes a mormon, and plus, I don't have a backyard where i could do rituals and stuff. (too bad I'm only 14) :(

  • I'am so confused with da christianity n pegans...???

  • shes right, u guys. im not joking, here. idk about ur parents, but mine turned out 2 be rly open-minded. my parents lived in santa cruz 4 a long time (its this rly crazy town in california. look it up. u should get some info. i went 2 a pool there. saw a guy with peircings on his nipples. yea. talk about disturbing). well, this past samhain, i came out of the broom closet 2 my mom. she was totally fine. she went out and bought me stuff. im wearing a necklace she bought me right now. so its ok.

  • i grew up with super strict catholic parents who wouldn't let me even mention the word wicca. i lived in a big enough city that there were books on the topic at the library, so i ended up spending a lot of time there. there was no way that my parents could find the books that way

  • I've just turned 15, (3 days ago, actually. C: ) And thankfully, I have loving parents who aren't really strict and let me be me. Plus, my friends, even though most are Christian, support me and treat me as who they knew me before I found the path. C:

Unfortunately, one of my pagan friends has strict Christian parents who don't even let her research Paganism. :C

  • I'm 18 and I tried telling my Catholic parents about my Wiccan religion and they nearly kicked me out of the house. They would have, if I hadn't told them I was "converting' over to Christianity. I hate to lie to them, but it's what i have to do until I can move out and start my own life. I still practice my faith though, in secret. Just waiting for the day I can be free and maybe come out of the broom closet.

  • good luck )0(

  • My father is a Pentecostal Christian and I was born and raised in that religion but for some reason I've always felt that the religion wasn't for me... I have always been fascinated by the Wiccan religion... I have been studying and practicing it. I've spoken to my mother already and she accepts it but If I told my father he would disown me...

  • There are two books I highly reccommend for teens in this situation: Become A Teen Goddess! By Francesca De Grandis (for boys as well as girls) which has a whole section in the back of ways to start a dialogue with your parents and even a sample script. I also highly reccomend Elements of Witchcraft: Natural Magick for Teens by Ellen Dugan, which is full of advice and spells using everyday items that will allow you to practice while you build up the courage to tell your parents.

  • WOW!

You just reminded me with this video, I had this rock, that was somewhat cloudy blue and was smoothed and looks like a raindrop.

I could feel so much energy radiating from it.

    But I lost it.

I really hope I can find it.

  • Thank You so much :) This is great advise. I keep wondering about how i should tell my parents that I want to become a Pagan, But all my family is christian, so its kind hard, but thanks :)

  • A Penpal could help aswell, someone to discuss belief with. If your family can't understand the transition.

  • this will help many people! i guess im so lucky beacuase my mom is pagan so is my gradfather.

    blesses be

  • I'm 20, I tried talking, I tried a paper, but not about my faith, but about how I feel at home and about my girlfriend. Nothing helped. So I gave it up.

I'm dying inside, because they don't accept me, but I tried everything already.

    Blessed Be

    Dallan

  • if your twenty save your money and move out

  • I told my christian grandparents whom i lived with that I was Pagan I tried to explain what I believe and why. They got very mad and said they would not have a Non-Christian living in there house and now I'm in foster care. They hate me now and want nothing to do with me.

  • I'm a fairly new, but very knowledgeable follower of Asatru, who lives in a Christian household, and was raised that way as well. My parents and family indirectly make fun of and slander my religion all the time, thinking it's nothing serious, something of non-import. I've told them I don't follow Christianity anymore, and they are fine, but they aren't very understanding of myself being Asatruar. (Haven't told them, but heavily hinted.) Your videos help alot Pixie, thank you.

  • Great advice. :)

  • I really loved this video, I was thinking to myself for a while is this really right for me. But then you mentions the stones and signs and I realised how much I've been ignoring! x

  • Thanks so much for these kind words...check out my new video series...they may help you with your next step in the path...

  • From the time that I was 5 I knew that I was different from other people for one I loved nature, I collected stones, flowers, etc when I was about 10 I knew I wanted to be a wiccan/pagan but growing up in an orthodox home that wasn't possible during my younger teen years I studied more. Last year my mom asked me something about a spell and my face lit up and I told her what I believe in and she is happy with my beliefs.

  • Yay!! I am so happy for you!

  • @CharmingPixieFlora

I'm not of your religion, because personally I only believe in animal spirits, inner self, earth energy.

But, oddly, I believe in like... Poseidon. I would be in the ocean and pray to poseidon for bigger waves. Weirdly, it worked. So in a way we are a BIT similar, but I watched your spirt animal/power animal video and loved it. Sadly, I can not visualize. Only black. But your work is amazing. Inspired.

  • @Barbiequeen89

LOL? who doesn't do that when there 10? i ate ants when i was 8 oh yeah i'm real close to nature. Then your family is condemning you to hell.

  • @TheShelbyiskool No, my family isn't they are very loving.

  • @Barbiequeen89

Any family who would openly let there daughter work the arts of the occult and commit so much sin in believing that nature powers your evil arts when surely that is impossible or that even yourself power this "Magic"... You believe in no God... Which is wrong and you should repent but you won't because you think that a strong love for nature makes you special which means nothing. Your family allows you to follow this path because they are BLIND as you are to the truth.

  • @TheShelbyiskool For your information I am an adult which means that I have the right to believe in whatever I want, second I have the freedom of religion, third I do believe in god, fourth I don't believe in "Hell", fifth what makes you think that you are any better just because you go to church or read the so called bible doesn't make you better!

  • @Barbiequeen89 I used to collect stones and flowers as well, infact i would give them as gifts for birthdays when i was younger.

  • @Barbiequeen89 You are so lucky :) Blessed Be!

  • i am blessed with a father who is understanding and supportive of my choosen path )O(

  • last week i braught up being waccan with my dad, and he imidiatly got mad at me he is christian and i understand that, but im so upset because he refuses to listen to my veiws he thinks that its a cult religion and he wont understand me, i dont know what to do this has helped and given me the courage to bring it up again and insist that thats what i am since i have been practising for a month or so on my one, thank you for giving me enough curage to do that, i thank you.

  • You're very welcome!

  • @CharmingPixieFlora i want to keep my christian faith but i want to do magic what should i do then?

  • @Duetaranamy56 Sorry for my answering this question. Google the book "Aslinn Dhan's Christian Witch's Book of Shadows". ;-) Hope that helps. :-)

  • yay Eclectics :D ... im eclectic wiccan too :)

  • I told my mum straight off, I never thought she'd care; she isn't religious, I wasn't even christened. She said that she didn't want me to get involved with Wicca because it was a cult religion. I know it isn't but it still really got to me. I know I'm not in one of the worst situations but it feels that way because of the shock that she said it. I just never thought she'd care. I really don't want to bring it up again because she hasn't. Do you have any advice for my situation???

  • Just let it go for now...give her time to get used to the idea. Do more research on your end and prove to her that it isn't

  • i have whatched some of your vids and this one is the one that speeks to me the most i belive some of the cathlic religion but mostly i belive the wiccan pagan religion and both of my parents know and i am relatively open with my friends at school and i have had some poroblems with people that think it is evil and it is hard but i don't care what other people think as long as i'm doing what i want to do and thogh i'm 13 i am very spiritual

  • I think alot of the time when parents dont undertstand is due to a combination of, Ignorance, fear and selfishness. but it isnt always like that.

When i brought my magick books and told my mom about them (im not pagan BTW, but im looking into it every day) she said "you do as you will, just dont get into the dark stuff". I am over 18 but i still like to have my moms blessing (just makes me feel more at ease).

  • I am 14, I started studying when I was 12, I told my parents sraight up. They support me, heck they even go out and surprise me with new items. Stones books etc. My father gave me his deck of tarot. My father himself was pagan, so he understands, but my mother isn't has always been christian. She doesn't care, but she does not like to know when I do spells. It kinda makes her nervous.

  • This is very nice of you! Thank you!

I think that this is very thought out and just might work! Yay!!!

I printed out a bunch of Q and A charts and Similarity and difference charts i love the "educating the public" section from Circle Round it's really helpful and i know you love that book, as I do! It's in the spirit chapter on pg 402 :)

    Thanks and Blessed Be!

  • I love love love that book! It is a must for every Pagan not raised as such.

  • i just gotta say i love the colors in your house :D

  • Thanks! Like i said to someone else in a comment, I love color...it is all around us in nature...I think more pagans should embrace the power that each color has. Yay!!!

  • I was blessed with understanding parents. I choose to study wicca for several years before I called myself a wiccan. And when I told my parents they thought it was really cool.

  • Awsome video! I posted this comment already but I'm not sure if it worked. lol

Would you be able to make a video about how I can help my parents get more spiritually involved? You know, like a way that I can show them a little bit about what I do as a Wiccan. My mom is extremely ecclectic and takes beliefs from a bunch of different faiths. But my stepdad's family is extremely Catholic, and he tries to be openminded, but I want a way to show him my spirituality so he'll better understand me.

  • That is a tough question. You can't make anyone be more involved with you spiritualy. You can just "Do your own thing" and they may just say "Hey, that looks pretty interesting, mind if I join you?" Or they may ask you questions about what youare doing. Just practice daily, your path and they may start to see your side of things.

  • I've recently come out to my dad as ChristoPagan and he seems to have no problem with it. The problem is going to be coming out to my mother. She had a brain tumor a few years ago and while the cancer is gone it has left her with a short fuse and almost no logic. I am afraid that if I tell her it could end our already fragile relationship. Luckily for me I live with my two best (and Pagan) friends and am able to practice freely. :-D

  • I am 15 years old. I think that if I built up a good case like you said my parents would just say if that's how u truly feel they will support me 100%. It makes me happy to have Open minded parents...I can remind them that when they were a kid growing up in a catholic home they didn't agree with it and thats what made them change...Ill just let them know how I feel..

Thanks so much for this video

    Blessed Be!

  • beautiful :]

  • (part 2) My dad actually started buying me random pagan things like books and a calendar! What I'm trying to convey by writing this is that I completely agree with CharmingPixieFlora. In many cases, parents really are willing to listen because they love their children! Even if it takes them a while to accept it, telling them is better than keeping it a secret and having them find out at a bad time, like when you're in the middle of a ritual. Good luck to anyone coming out!

    Blessed Be! )O(

  • (part 1) Luckily I have not been under 18 for a few years now... it was so hard for me to come out to my parents. When I finally told them, they were shocked and wanted me to talk to a woman at our church. So I did, and the woman actually knew a lot about Wicca and told my parents that it was a peaceful, earth-based religion and that they shouldn't be worried; it was natural for me to explore religions at that age. As my parents learned more about Wicca, they became more comfortable with it.

  • how do i practice when my parent will not let me? i need somewhere to do it, but im not even aloud to read about it!

  • 95% of Magic is in your Brain. Learn to Visualize your intention, your circles...go for a walk and see the Goddess and God in everything around you...The elements, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit...they are all around you...

  • u dont need tools or anythin. pagan/wicca is nature based wth gods an goddesses, an the rule is an ye harm none, do wht ye will. just pray to a god or goddess. i pray to cernunnos an diana, ull feel them around you if u reach to them. :) message me if u need more info at all.

    blessed be!

  • Of course you can practise

It doesn't matter if you have tools

In some cases it's best not to link ritual with tools

  • i was very lucky to have parents that were supportive. they are by no means pegan themselves but the support me in my path. thank you for this amazing video!

    Blessed Be!

  • Well, I think people are afriad of what they don't know anything about..That is why, as a Wiccan and Pagan, you need to know how to explain to people what you believe in and separate fact from fiction (hollywood version...ie. devil etc...) Once you explain it, it usually doesn't seem so traumatic. : )

  • That is awesome that the priest said to follow your own path. Yay!!!

  • (pt. 2) She told me she didn't accept the fact I'm pagan, but told me that because I'm her daughter and she loves me she would pray for me. I gently but firmly made it clear that she could pray as she wanted to, but it wouldn't change the fact I am what I am. My mother told my father, and he's actually quite curious now--although it won't sway his religious views (or lack thereof). He'll ask questions, but my mother mostly doesn't bring it up, which is fine by me. :)

    I consider myself lucky :)

  • Oh Honey...I have two sisters that have been praying for me for years!!!! LOL...That is too funny...I am glad your Dad seems cool!

  • hey, i just watched this (great advice, btw...all i might add would be to use this time to study the spiritual aspect. i was practicing in my youth without really being aware!, like you said, study the god/dess in nature! pray to her with a single white candle...whatever!) but i came up with another topic: Paganism In the Workplace....!

  • (pt. 1) I agree! I told my mother one night when my heart couldn't hold it in anymore, and at first she tried to blame herself by saying she didn't take me to church enough (she doesn't go to church anymore). She tried to blame the fact that I never really fit in with the youth group, but I told her none of that was the reason I am a pagan now. I explained to her what I believe and how I practice (sabbats, esbats, etc.), and bought her a book, "When Someone You Love Is Wiccan" (close enough ;P).

  • Cool! I'll have to check out this book!!!

  • great advice I LOVE THAT ,,YAAAAAY" part :D:D::D:D:D I'm over 18 but this video is very helpful

  • Great advice!!)O(

  • Hmm. This sound's like a good advice. But most christian's don't want to hear it. I feel Christianity is very close minded and don't think for themselves. That's the type of people in church and in my family are.

  • That is why you need to do research and have reasons why you believe what you do.

  • Very good advice, as always!

  • thank you for making another great video :) many blessings

  • no one said the pagan path was an easy one. i started practicing when i was about 14-15. my best friend and i had nothing but a couple of books and TONS of bees wax candles we made. i didn't share my personal beliefs with my mom for several years, until i was SURE that this was the path for me. no one ever asks a christian to justify why they are christian and tho i do understand why you say you should make a good argument, the heart wants what it wants.

  • Well Said!!!! Bravo!!!

  • After reading the comments I am so glad that my parents didn't have a problem with me being a Pagan. My parents are atheists and they don't want to know anything about Paganism, but that's fine... It's my path. They make an effort to understand though and try to think of what i might need; my mom bought me a book on Witchcraft last month, really sweet :-).

    Blessed Be )O(

  • OH Yay!!! HOw exciting!!!

  • Wow

After Reading all these comments I feel really lucky that I have a Wiccan father

  • (part 2) my parents don't like me networking with other pagans outside the house publicly and gaining a more active role, they are dead set against me joining a moot. my dad is against the idea of me having a handfasting when I'm older as he wants to walk me down the isle. and although that probably won't be for a long time yet I still like the right to hypothetically do something. he doesn't understand that I can't make a vow to a God I don't believe in as it wouldn't mean anything to me.

  • (part 1) I'm 17 and I in some ways can practice freely. My parents already know of my path and accept it as I have two alters, one for the Goddess and God and one for the Fae and Even though my family is Christain based I'm still alowed to do my own rituals at home.

  • Wow, after reading some of these comments I feel incredibly lucky to have parents that dont have a problem with paganism.

  • (Part 1) I think this is a very hard thing for a lot of ppl these days. Wicca/paganism has grown to the point that it is almost unnecessary to be in the "broom closet", but still many of us struggle. I am 23 and fear telling my mom and step-dad. I want so badly to be free with my faith. I have expressed it on my myspace and starting too with YT, but I still cant tell my parents. continued --->

  • (part 2) I worry that if I dont tell them, that my grandma may find her way onto YT and see that I am Wiccan and go running to my mom. Then here will come Father ready to perform and exorcism lol. Thats not the way I want her to find out, but if I tell her, it may ruin our already fragile friendship. Fortunately, I currently live with my dad. Although I cant practice, I am able to have the books and some tools without worrying about them noticing or caring. continued---->

  • (Part 3) I will soon be on my own again and look forward to casting large circles in my living room lol. Any whoo, To tell my mom, or not to tell my mom-- That is the question ;) If I choose not to risk out friendship and someday I get married, I know Ill have to tell her then cuz I am definitely having some sort of pagan ceremony :) Well done on the vid! btw, this comment was intended to be this long :) Light and Blessings!

  • Thanks for sharing this...It gives all of us reading a lot of insight as to how others share in the same path of what to do.

  • Thank you very much for this video! I now have even more ideas as to learning more about my faith. I've tried talking to my parents but they are very strict jehovah witnesses, so I try to learn as much as i can about wicca in my own kind of way. Thanks!

  • lol

  • Thank You!, HEHE.

    Brightest Blessings

  • Hey great video!

I was fortunate enough to have family who is understanding, or my mom and dad at least. I'm 18 years old, and I've been researching the Wiccan path since I was 16. I've attended a few pagan events, and it rings true to me down to the very soul of me. I think that faith in deity is part of the growing up process, so what makes you feel uplifted!

    Blessed be,

    luna
