I'm going to whine now... I'm aware this is a source mod, but it seems kind of unatmospheric to be be taking soooo many elements of half-life 2 (about all the sound resources, textures, props, ENEMIES [why?...] etcetc.) and mixing in constant jump scares stolen right out of Fear the first. I am missing atmosphere building, narrative apart from "generic spooky house, bodies, generic, zombies, generic, little creepy girl, generic". But this is just the prologue, hope it gets better down the road.

@NextTec101 It's a Half-LIfe 2 mod, though you need to have Episode 2 I think to get it to work. Think that version of the game has some assets the game needs. Though it is free, and last time I checked, they released the level data to go with it.

@Overboard928 i do believe it drains away a bit faster. probably just to add to the atmosphere. an unlimited flashlight would just have you feel way too high on yourself, but with this crappy one, you have to stop every now and then to let it recharge and that makes you vulnerable and stuff :\ game dev likes to scare the shit outta you

@NorwegianCarWrecker The problem with that is the regeneration time of the flashlight is so fast that it's almost pointless to even have it run out. I'd honestly prefer if it were unlimited but very dim and flickery or if it required you to find and use batteries.

Why did it work in Dead Space? Because Dead Space had this thing called atmosfear.
