In the modern world, the only basis for legitimacy of countries is the United Nations. Israel was created by a majority vote of the UN. That was legal. The Arab states attacked Israel and aimed to destroy it. That was illegal. As for the Jews wanting to steal Arab land, both Gaza (now independent) and the West Bank were conquered legally in a defensive war. Islam is a destructive faith that will certainly destroy itself and all it's believers, we need to battle it where ever it raises it's ugly head, especially in Israel and America. Anyhow, there's only one really good way to settle the Arab vs. Jewish dispute in Palestine. The Jews of Israel ought to intermarry with the Arabs of Palestine, and the resulting group would no doubt be the rightful owners of the land.

Jews and Arabs are both ultimately sons and daughters of the same soil. As for me, I do have a land, it's AMERICA, but all the same, the Jewish people have a hard time finding a rationale for coming from somewhere other than the ancient Near East. The strongest alternative candidate might be Khazaria, but that doesn't explain the use of Hebrew (which is related to Arabic) and all those biblical mentions of Levantine places.

That might make for a lively debate between you guys and Germany/Poland/ the Ukraine (where many "Jews on religion only" might have had their ancestors). The trouble here is that "Jews on religion only" and "Jews in ancestors" may have lived side by side in Europe for centuries, and how would we know for sure?

Also, mind if I point out that the first known people on Palestinian soil were neither Arab nor Jewish - they were Homo erectus, "erect man", and are extinct. After that came Neandertal man. And THEN came people like you and I. I suspect both Qahtanis and Hebrews contributed to the Canaanite people, and at least part of the Jewish people is descended from Canaanites.

If an Arab sold land to a Jew, would the Jew then have the right to the land in question? In America, that's what would happen: land would be exchanged for money, and thus be owned "fee simple" (and, of course, regulated by zoning laws and a mortgage and property taxes, but the owner would have the right to tinker with the land).

Let's just clarify the fact that Palestine is a Roman term given to Judea 2000 years ago. They named Judea after the Jews' bitter enemies, the Philistines, who were not Arabs and of course not Muslim since there was no Islam back then. There has never been a state, kingdom or country called Palestine in history so far.

I suspect the following peoples of contributing to Ashkenazi Jews: Canaanites, Romans, Sorbs (eastern European Slavs), Egyptians, Kurds (northern Iraqis), Phoenicians (fancy name for "Canaanites"), Mongols (!) and Khazars (not very much, but they worked their way in there), and various other eastern Mediterranean peoples. 1) Israel is 60 years old not 100
2) Israel DID move out of Gaza, this is why its being ruled by Hamas there now cause they made a cue and kicked Fatah out, thus eliminating democracy there.
3) the British not only didnt moved all the Jews to Palastine, they tried to keep them OUT (see the "white book" regulations).
4) Palastine was a province of the Ottoman Empire, then of the British, there was never an Independent STATE of Palastine there wich means it doesnt belong to them more then the jews
