Your formation flying skills are incredible! Don't know of a sim pilot with the ability to maintain such a tight formation whilst pulling some of those manouevures! Simply incredible!
Thanks, but please know that this video only shows my best results. What you don't see are the many re-takes and failed flights that were required to make the video. I usually spend many hours to set-up the scenery, flights, and camera angles... If this were a one-off video shoot, the result would look much worse. Anyway, thank you for your kind words. Take care - Morgan
@penneyfour Oh, trust me I know that there must be loads of previous attempts to make this look as perfect as it does. Just marvelling at how you managed to get all of this video spot on, I mean the formation flying is certainly one big factor as well as the video choreography is another. Perhaps the best Flight Sim formation flying video I have seen on here.
Hi there. The scenery is satellite imagery with objects placed on top of it. I used TileProxy to use the satellite scenery in FSX and software called Whisplacer to easily add objects on top of it.
Sorry for the delayed response... I basically use the default proxyuser.ini file. I just have the LOD radius set to very small and detail to 30cm. In this way I have very high resolution close to the aircraft but low resolution further away.
You also might want to take a look at tweaking your FSX.CFG file.
My special settings are:
FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=1.33
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=30
MipBias=6
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096
Computer is Intel QX6700 Quad Core and Nvidia 8800GTX
Thanks, yes I did "fly" the cars for the added visual effect... It was fun, but not a first. Other YouTube FS video makers are expanding their scenes to include moving ground vehicles as well. Take Care
Thanks. Well, autogen trees are not compatible with TileProxy... and TileProxy is what keeps my interest in FSX. Recently I discovered a wonderful tool called Whisplacer that allows FSX users to add scenery objects on top of TileProxy scenery. Hence the buildings, trees, etc in this video.
The main software I use for video editing is Ms Movemaker, but this video and other recent postings have been with Sony Vegas. However, Ms Movemaker can also produce quality vids in 1080p.
As ever sir, a superb job!!!! That F4 looks very nice also, havn't seen it before? and i have a much higher system spec and yet it doesn't perform half as well as yours even on lower settings, My FSrecorded aircraft bounce around the sky grrrrrr..... keep up the amazing work and all the best.
When using FSRecorder, I suggest that you lock in your frame rates at a rate as high as possible, but also something that your computer will stay stable with. On mine that is around 50 or 60 fps. If it won't stay stable, lower it down. The "bounce" you refer to is unstable frame rates... if you can stabilize it... the airplanes will not jerk around on playback.
Hmmm, thanks for the hint, this works quite well when i lock in low frame rates (30-35) my problem has never been getting highe frames on my system, it is that they fluctuate rapidly from 150+ at times to 11fps the next second which causes undesirable effects such as the ground moving by jerkily, must be an AMD and/or ATI thing.... i see a core I7 and a Nvidea card on the horizon i think. Thanks for your help.
Thanks.... Well, I used FSRecorder to record all scenes with multiple aircraft, but each aircraft was piloted by me... So yes, the phantom formation was accomplished through much sweat and toil, :)
Thank you. Yes I have a sound card. But I use an Edirol UA-25 USB Audio Capture device to record my guitar and various instruments. Also I use sequencing and mixing software to compose the soundtracks you hear in the vids.
Well, recently I build my own. The sceneries in this video are a mixture of TileProxy (Satellite images) and FSX scenery objects placed on top using software called Whisplacer. Take care.
Thanks, for both our sakes, let us hope for a 2010 that brings greater success with just a tad bit less time spent at work and more time with family and friends. I know this sounds crazy, but my personal goal is to complete an album of eleven full-length songs this year.

When I'm using TileProxy, I have low frames in an altitude of maybe 500ft.
Also, it only loads 20km or so of your circuit. Can you modify this?

Sweet video! - I love the camera movement and the cars. The music added a nice warmth to the video :-)
(note: Tileproxy is a great program - but seems to horde your HD space)

Hahaha, you actually "flew" race cars through the Silverstone racetrack. Added a nice and realistic touch to the video.

One more great video.
