I know it sounds ridiculous, but check eBay. Every now and then you'll find someone cleaning out their garage and don't know anything about instruments and be able to pick up true prizes at a fraction of the cost.

If you know enough about the model to be purchasing one, you should know how to spot a real vs a fake anyway.

it depends on the song.

for "out of my mind" and "i'm gonna find another you" i personally prefer the sound of his gibson ES-335.

for almost all the other ones (mainly the ones with the trio) the strat is just perfect
