Oog that was kind of a depressing lecture for us skeptics...all about the resurgence of anti-evolutionism and woo. Too bad she didn't get to go into Popper also :(

After hours of guys talking on 'religion versus science'...

Atheists - 'You're wrong and illogical and your life is a joke'

Christians - 'Yeah but at least we're not going to hell like you'

..now this fabulous lecture with an honest appraisal of the whole story and a whole new angle on magic. WHAT A BLOODY RELIEF! Karen Armstrong, Mary Midgely and (my new heroine) Courtney Raian seem to grasp the complexity. It sure beats New Atheists explaining scientific testing for the millionth time.

Scientology? Christian Science Monitor? UFO cults? Double dark? The rocket scientist occult lodge cross over?

Some of the politics were vague: when is Magic Science Religion motivating politics vs used as propaganda? Liberal vs Classical Liberal vs Neoliberal. The are left and right think tanks but look at the numbers.
