I am a BMW enthusiast. But this new M5 isn't that great. The CTS-V shaved off 14 seconds off the E60 M5 and yet this M5 only shaved off what 4 seconds? Im guessing their still using electronic power-steering. Plus the new E63 AMG has the new 5L Twin-Turbo V8 that should embarrass Its competition. I an more than certain it will outsell again but idk if it will out perform like it always has. The E39 M5 was the bench mark even to this day, the E39 Ms steering can not be matched.

You've never driven an M5 have you? Trust me, when you're bringing one down from 140mph to about 10mph on a race track, you won't be bored. And the E60 was far faster than the E39, I've owned them both. BTW, BMW tunes the exhausts louder for N. America, than Germany. However, if you really want to have some fun in a BMW just one word...135i.

I had a twin turbo Supra, converted it to single turbo...no doubt turbos can make a LOT of power...but no engine in the M5 will replace the V10. That was a legendary engine...lucky for me...I also own a E60 M5... :-D

@FUCK202 This is an M5, not some kind of rediculous supercar. It should be quiet and relaxing when driving slowly, and fast and loud when you want to drive it quickly. The old M5 with V10 was always too loud, and the power at low revs wasnt that great, so you had to always rev it up to 5000 rpm at least if you wanted to make it fast. The new V8 will have more power, and will have twice the amount of torque that old V10 had....and it will produce that torque from 1500-6000 rpm.

When it comes to power and EMISSIONS, NATURALLY ASPIRATED engines CANNOT compete with Forced induction! Period! They will be producing more horsepower and TORQUE while cutting back on emissions by 20%! And remember that the output of these engines have to somewhat conservative as BMW has to WARRANTY these Vehicles. Hope this helps. Im a fan of the V10!
