Man, just one well-protected goblin maceman in the wrong spot at the wrong time, and the functioning of your fort was almost COMPLETELY arrested. Glad to see it didn't end in tears.
My current fort is fully grown with 218 dwarfs and is getting about 17fps. That's actually good from what i've read elsewhere, but it's getting to the point of annoyance.
Yeah, our dwarves were completely taken by surprise! One the bright side though, we did fend them off (though at a great cost) and our blacksmith is near completion of the armor!
The problem is that when an enemy is unconscious or helpless, *every* attack will target the head, and you just couldn't punch through that iron helm. Unfortunately, I don't think broken bones lead to bleeding, either. I've been bitten by this before, but at least it was ogres and not a single goblin. :)

Thats quite good. I have half the fort for 25fps, with a pump stack and other things it might get to a crawling 10 fps :(

This pretty much proved that your army is pretty much shit.
And getting ambushed before you got all your hammers was pretty much disastrous.
Hopefully the next attack will be a bit less... bloody...

yeah, it's nearly impossible for wrestlers to get the killing blow on something in Fortress Mode.
i also have 2 questions.
1. Am i the last miner alive?
2. and does your fiancé play dwarf fortress? :P
