Path 2 was my favorite path as well, plus that boss one pain in the ass. That has happen with me as well with the metal smasher as well. I also like the Venom Surface on path two as well, it different from the other two.

I think I know why you had trouble with the boss--both times he tried to smash you, he would send metal bits at you (you destroyed most of them each time, but one or two pieces would survive and hit you--so it's not the smasher itself that was giving you trouble).

The route 2 venom is the easiest of them all and plus the music really get's ya pumped up which I wish that music would play while facing andross.

After you play Star Fox 64 You forget that you dont have to shoot a Bomb into Andross' Mouth

I usually don't need to--I go for his eyes first, then his hands as he floats there, whining about getting shot in the eye.

When facing Andross from Area 6, though, I keep a bomb to take care of his eyes after his face blows up.

Wow, this brought back memories. i must've been about 8 years old when i got a SNES and this for my birthday.

Whats slightly disturbing is how i remember every single sound in the game so clearly. I think this game must've been so frustrating for me as a child i never really fully recovered from the emotional scars.

@2:50 You only had to defeat one half of the boss. The other half was meant to spontaneously combust (The pilot of it escaped, I checked GAMEFAQS).

RRgh i cant beat the stinkin metal smasher boss!! i always die! i have this game on my laptop for an emulator... i dont know how to beat him...T.T

The secret is to only shoot one side of the smasher as I did, and you won't need to battle as long, though in this vid, this was the first time I saw the boss just spontaneously blow up when one smasher was close to death... Luckily I recorded it! XD I still have trouble timing the brakes, but I luckily did it right here! :P

Hmm... I personally liked Star Fox Assault. It had a lot of potential, but the story was WAY too short, but the muliplayer is a lot of fun! Adventures was OK to me. Decent length, and story, but the whole Zelda theme at times made me forget I was playing as Fox! :P

Heh, well actually, I don't really think that shooting it in the mouth helps to make him absorb less blocks, I just did that for fun, since you won't get absorbed anyways! It kinda seems that way cause since the animation is so fast, the sound is kinda out of sync... :/
