  • Where's the 2nd part?

  • Billie was a real cutie

  • I just can´t watch this show. It´s too sad that Edith died

  • Can someone upload the hole Episode of this

  • 'What crapola",indeed!

I can remember watching this show, for a while anyway..We didn't have cable,so our viewing choices were pretty limited. But we watched this on Sunday evening, along with The Jeffersons, and Alice..and some times,Quincy.

Having said that,I don't remember Billie or the black housekeeper at all....

  • Gloria, Stephanie and Billie all came to realize that the conservative values embraced by Archie suited them far better than the liberal standards of the other people in their lives. Gloria certainly came to appreciate Archie more than she did Mike. Stephanie came to resent her father for leaving her, and even faulted her late mother for running off with another man and leaving her behind. Billie actually hauled off at her carefree father in one episode, and ran to Archie for support.

  • well u close the door...the arabs are killing me off withthe price of oil

  • Comment removed

  • I never watched the show that much. Who is Billie supposed to be?

  • @IndyJDguy I think Billie was Archie`s niece.

  • Too bad archie isnt around today too see that we have a real meat head in office! rofl...lol

  • @TheITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ

A real meat head in office! Very funny indeed!

  • bet gloria wishes she was that size today! lol she was kinda hot in all in the family..too bad she will have a big mac attack. lol jk

  • Archie was SUCH a redneck a-hole. But a funny one.

  • @tripjet999 just like you is! you big dummie! lol jk

  • @Everlidis1 its here under "edith dies archie bunkers place" she had a stroke in her sleep

  • Mike was always a total asshole! UNemployed and Archie supported him AND paid for Mike to go to college. Then what does Mike do>? Takes off and leaves Gloria and his son to have an affair with a co worker Quits his job and moves with the girl he used to work with to a commune!

  • @jerzeytpke Come on, we're talking about a fictional character. Rob Reiner didn't want to play Mike anymore so the writers got pissed and made him the bad guy. This storyline didn't make any sense. Mike had become much more conservative after graduating and moving out of the house. Why would he move to a commune? Not to mention communes were really something of the early 1970s.

  • @IndyJDguy

Well, I would not say Mike got conservative. He simply got older and acquired more responsibilities. However, it can be said that Mike never got over his left wing liberal days, and that he was a powder keg all those years just waiting to explode. He tried with all his might to embrace the conventional lifestyle, but simply could not pull it off. This scenario is actually not unrealistic at all.

  • never seen this one before... what happened to Edith??

  • @Everlidis1 Its here its under "archie bunkers place Edith dies" She had a stroke in her sleep.

  • What happened to Edith?

  • The sad thing is that entertainment like this will never be seen again on national television in this country; not because they can't re-broadcast it in the form of re-runs, but because America has fundamentally changed so much in the last two decades in the direction of fascist, political correctness. This show highlighted both sides of the political spectrum of opinion in both a serious and lighthearted way,but that's not "politically correct" to do so anymore in the liberal-fascist New Order.

  • was this after the first season? because this was on tv and I forgot to videotape it. I want the episode STEPHANIES DANCE!!! man i am stupid: is this archies maid? 0:14 is that stephanie and a friend?

  • I wish they would release the rest of ABP on DVD!!

  • @CrackerJD they wont due to low selling...

  • @enisorian lol

  • 03:04 pretty sad part! Nice they remembered Jean Stapleton's character!

  • mike has always been a useless meathead

  • Never seen this ever. Thanks for uploading this!

  • Humboldt County's on the map now! lol.... it's a great place to live. I love it here.

  • This is after Edith died, right?

  • @RileySkye100

    Yes, it is.

  • Quik milk mix! I remember when it looked like that, before they changed the name to Nesquik. lol.... (cheap thrills, memories...)

  • Hated that Gloria was always so snotty to Archie...I never saw these episodes. Thanks! This series was my favorite sitcom of all time

  • ALL GREAT SHOWS LIKE GREAT TIMES COME TO AN END. SAD THAT THEY HAD THE CHARACTER MIKE LEFT HIS FAMILY TO LIVE ON A COMMUNE. I HAD THAT! ALL THAT EDUCATION AND HE LEAVES HIS FAMILY FOR WHAT? THEY REALLY SHOULD HAD GLORIA AND SON VISIT FROM THE COMMUNE. THE REAL WORLD IS THERE REGARDLESS AND IT REALLY SUCKS. I GUESS I CAN RELATE TO WHERE THE CHARACTER MIKE IS COMING FROM. I JUST HATE FOR THEM TO DIVORCE AND POOR EDITH DEAD. BREAKS MY SPIRIT CAUSE IT REALLY HITS HOME AND HEART. THOSE WERE THE DAYS

  • Was that student of Mike's a blind girl? And Ronald Reagan is the greatest President we ever had or ever will have.

  • The problem with Gloria is that she's just like Archie... Those two on the stairs was the funniest thing ever. As much as Gloria loved her mother, she was NOTHING like her at heart. I just love All in the Family so much. I'm just sorry that Mike couldn't "live in the real world." Shouldn't an obligation to his son and wife take precidence over making a political statement? Usually I agree with Mike in an argument, but this is where we part ways...

  • Without Google, they had no place to look things up.

  • i didn't know the bunkers house had a window between the dining room and kitchen

  • Like the three bears, back than, almost good, now looks like shit, here just right!

  • Comment removed

  • never seen this....quite interesting! :) sorry to hear about meathead

  • Mike, the big liberal, is so concerned about nuclear war and the poor, so he decides to address these problems head on by running to a commune with a girl half his age. Gloria may have been on the liberal side as well, but she was still Archie's daughter, and was imbued with the basic values that he and Edith instilled into her. The only instance where I feel sorry for Mike is that, if everyone remembers, he lost his parents when he was very young, and was raised by various relatives.

  • I know this is completely inappropriate. And, I'm sorry. But, I want to have sex w/ Sally Struthers so freakin' bad!! :)

  • @klwewf

    Yikes. Even NOW?

  • what season is this from

  • This isn't a great episode but still it's a triumph for Archie. After all, he DID change over the years: he became less racist, more friendly and a loving grandfather while the meathead became worse. Why was the meathead living in Archie's house in the first place? He could have taken a job and done evening classes. Instead of that he lived of his wife and her parents. Didn't Mike study sociology? That's not even a real science. Mike represents everything I detest in the baby boom generation.

  • @videoclog it is funny Ronald Reagan also studied socialogy

  • @truvianni LOL

    Don't tell Mike!

  • @videoclog It is strange though because I never heard it mentioned what precisly it was that Mike got his diploma in

  • @truvianni In the episode titled 'Edith Writes a Song' Mike said that he's studying in sociology class.

  • @videoclog I know what you are talking about but he said that he learnt about life in the ghetto in his socialogy class but he does not say that was his major. It could have been one of the many classes he was taking apart from his major.he also teaches statistics in 1 episode which would be strange for a socialogy major to do

  • @truvianni Imagine having Mike Stivic as your teacher. Not a very pleasant thought!

  • @videoclog The name Stivic is very strange.I know for sure it is not Polish

  • @truvianni

You are correct, it sounds Croatian.

  • @spartacus3ful actually I know it is not Polish because though I was born in NY I speak Polish fluently and have been living in Poland for 20 years. In which time Ive never met anybody with that name and even asked a university teacher in the Polish language who told me it is not a Polish name.I dont even think it is Slavic. Also Polish does not use the letter v and the c is like s so in Polish it would be Stiwik.Think it is German.

  • The little boy said he went to a commune. So my idea is that he went into a religious convent. He grew a beard! He got together with another woman who was part of his commune. Well in real life, he just written out of the series.

  • I wish Mike and Gloria hadn't separated....In my mind, it never happened!

  • @christytina81 At least they didn't get divorced. Maybe they just needed a break away from each other.

  • The irony of all of this was that the show tended to take sides with Mike on things and Archie couldn't seem to do or say anything right. Archie was the bigot, Mike was the enlightened yet perhaps arrogant progressive. If that's the case, Archie scored the coup de gras here. Even if he was uniformed and ignorant due to his upbringing, he knew what was important in life and always tried to do the right thing. When the chips were down, Mike joined a commune while Archie stood by his family.

  • @surfer53 Despite no formal education, Archie always had lots more common sense than his meatheaded son-in-law.

  • "Ya know alotta your intellectuals today is toy-nin"

  • The subtitles are in Dutch for a comedy show.

I didn't know Dutch people had any sense of humour at all ???

  • @cheeriosinabowl No it's the Germans who don't. LOl.

  • Angel face? LOL!

  • I never realized it Michael "meathead" Stivic had a nervous breakdown !

  • @ManTexDal No other TV audience member knew it either until years later, when this original non-aired episode, at the time, showed up on the DVD. In the original airing they moved right to Gloria's spin-off episode instead of this one. We sort of knew though beforehand that something like that was going to happen to Mike because of the information about his nude nuclear weapons protest revealed in the Thanksgiving 1979 reunion episode.

  • It's weird to see the transitions from All In The Family to Archie Bunker's Place.. So much has changed.... Even Archie seems to be a lot more different than what he used to be..

  • jesus they kill of edith split up mike and gloria this was a depressing show

  • Communes seem to be similar to cults.

  • Joey looks like the kid from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the Gene Wilder one, the good one

  • @moviereviews4life You mean Chalrie?

  • Why did the meathead join the commune after a split from Gloria?

  • @TimFrith24 He (much like these Christian fundamenalists) though Armageddon was happening and the fact that goverment was going to be a police state soon.

  • This show really had a lot of good qualities to it, largely due to the excellent supporting cast: the two nieces and Mrs. Canfield at home, and at the bar, actors such as Martin Balsam (Archie's Jewish business partner), Anne Meara (the head cook), the two Hispanic cooks, the gay waiter, Mr. Van Rensselaer (the blind patron), and Archie's friends, Barney Hefner and Hank Pivnik. There was also the young lawyer, Rabinowitz, who for a time dated Archie's niece Billie. A lot of stuff just clicked.

  • he changed so much after his whife died. so crazy:/

  • After all of that, I can finally say that after all those years, Archie was right on the money when it came to Mike.

He was definitely a MEAT HEAD!!! Dead from the neck up!

  • @NYG4LIFE123 You realize they were fictional characters, right? It's not like the character would have done that if they didn't need to create a premise for the spinoff. They should have killed Mike off- what they did made absolutely no sense given what we knew of their relationship.

  • Aside from "Archie Alone" I had watched NONE of "Archie Bunker's Place"

GOOD GOD!!! The whole show changed!!! Stephanie grew up. He's got another niece running around. Joey's grown up. Mike & Gloria split. And now Archie has a DUN DUN DUN. Black House Maid!!!

  • so that girl with Stephanie is Archie's niece .. when did she come into the show? and does she live with them or something?

  • @tabs157

The niece was Billie, and she was the daughter of Archie's carefree brother Fred from Baltimore. (In the very early episodes of AITF, her older sister visits the house, and gets Archie mad when she goes dancing with Lionel, the black neighbor). Here is another irony: Fred was the liberal brother, but he could never seem to hold a marriage. If you remember, his last wife was an 18 year old girl. Billie came to NY because she could not accept her father's lifestyle.

  • The show really began to mellow out here, but in a rather positive manner. Archie becomes less right wing (at least in terms of having a black housekeeper, etc.), while Gloria becomes less feminist and more motherly. Everyone is still subdued, as if they still have not overcome the death of Edith.

  • cool thank you

  • Who is that girl with Stephine

  • @Buffro20 that's billie. archie's niece

  • It is amazing seeing Sally Struthers then compared to now on still standing were she play's Bill Miller's Mom

  • I hate meathead I always wanted archie to give him the business. I though she cheated on meathead with some other guy. did they get back together and meathead leave with that other girl.

  • was gloria considered a "hot" girl on this show.

  • i never thought they would seperate but meathead always had weird ideas about life. i never seen an athiest in his right mind anyways. athiests are just people looking to avoid accountibility.

  • @shewstring2000

Listen. Speaking as an atheist, I assure you that not believing in God has nothing to do with avoiding accountability.

People seem to have this strange idea that just because someone believes there is no god, they have no morals. It's ridiculous and insulting to believe this about people.

I'll tell you what I believe in. I believe in treating people with empathy and respect. Not because of any fiery hell awaiting me if I don't, but simply because it is right.

  • @Marbles471 Hear, hear. Only people who are naturally malicious do good simply because they're afraid of being caught. The rest of us manage to do good even when we don't fear that an omnipotent being is watching us.

  • @Marbles471 I am a very faithful person. I have no doubt whatsoever in the existence of God and pray that people who do not believe in Him will one day find Him.

I am in no way defending atheism. But, I know many atheists who are highly moral people, who do not deserve to have their integrity degraded with the judgmental assumption that they are not upstanding people.

God is the source of all good, and resides in the heart of all good people, even atheists who do not know He is there.

    Peace.

  • @baguazhang77

Thank you. And I care far more about mutual respect among people than trying to convince the faithful of anything.

    Peace likewise.

  • Figures Meathead went to live in a hippie commune.

  • @WhoFartedInHere34 Didn't most hippies go on to become yupies in the 80s?

  • @truvianni Nope. They somehow became professors and stuck with it.

  • @WhoFartedInHere34 some did but most became yupies like that guy who was so anti Vietnam yet went on to make a fortune in the 80

  • @WhoFartedInHere34 Should hv had meathead die of a drug overdose lol

  • Did Rob Reiner not want to return to the show? Or the writers just decided to leave them separated for "creative reasons"?

  • @Rosebud331 He started getting good as a movie director, and was in such demand that he couldn't make a return even if he wanted to.

  • @Rosebud331 The Gloria spinoff was already being developed. Sally was committed to it, Rob Reiner already had started his career as a director.

  • @PhaedrusNYC

The ironic thing is that Carroll O'Connor at one point had walked off the show due to a contract dispute: that was the time when the writers hastily came up with the three part episode in which Archie is missing at a veterans convention, and everyone is trying to locate him. The common belief was that it would have been O'Connor who would be the first to walk (as many stars of shows do), but interestingly enough, he would be the last holdout on the show!

  • @telamon2011 ...Very interesting indeed! Usually DOES work the other way around!

  • The language comes from Holland and they speak Dutch.

  • This episode shows that Meathead erm I mean Mike was a douche bag all along. Who would have thunk huh?

  • Casting on this show was brilliant: Gloria and Archie physically look like father and daughter.

  • @KellyGreen5555 I agree. And the father daughter bond looked so genuine.

  • Wow Gloria sure looks great in this 1

  • does meathead ever come back?

  • Dayum gloria was nevr more fuckable as far as I'm concerned--she finally got that hip-to-ass-to-waist-to-breast ratio that requires an all-nighter. & for a white girl she sure had that big mouth with those those dick suckin' thick lips!

  • @iiwatcher : LMFAO

  • @unclebobpart2 Word up mayne. XD

  • @iiwatcher thanks 4 sharing that, you impotent toad

  • @desertdreg You're welcome you deformed ovary.

  • What ever happened to Denise Miller? (Biilie Bunker What a beautiul woman she was on this show.

  • Wow! I NEVER saw this episode and am a HUGE AITF fan....Thanks so much for uploading this....GREAT job!

  • At 1:18 he says "The Arabs is killing me.." and Saddam Hussein can be seen in the background, to the right. WHOAH.

  • who is the other little girl here with Stephanie where did she come from?

  • I think the show first tried to find a place for the new black neighbors (the police detective and his wife) who made their appearance in the later All In The Family episodes, but they simply could not be fitted in. Mrs. Canfield was a relevant character for awhile, but then it did not make sense to have a housekeeper with two teenaged girls living in the house, so she was eventually dropped from the show as well.

  • This is so interesting given the fact that Archie incredibly mellowed in his later years. There was a time when he would never allow a black person inside his house, and now he has a black housekeeper. Billie, his niece, has to be the youngest daughter of his alter ego (liberal) brother from Baltimore, Fred. Her older sister appeared in one of the earlier episodes when she went out on a date with Lionel (the black neighbor) and Archie went ballistic.

  • @ligreekguy Lots of racists had black people in their homes...in fact, I'm pretty sure we fought a war over it.

  • @PhaedrusNYC

Well, yes, slaves, but not housekeepers! Do you remember the episode when Archie and Mrs. Canfield are shopping together in the supermarket, and one of his lodge brothers harasses him about having a n----- in the house, and Archie socks him? And the episode where he tells the Klansmen not to burn a cross on Mike's front lawn because of the blood the black doctor donated to Archie? Archie was more prejudiced (generalizing) than he was racist.

  • @telamon2011 I don't think it's worth arguing over, but of course racists in both the North and South had black housekeepers. There's a wonderful book and soon-to-be movie called "The Help" that's alll about that. By the 20th century, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who even hired white housekeepers- they cost too much. If I recall the first episode you're talking about, I think he was being harrassed because they implies he was romantically involved with Canby.

  • I honestly don`t know what Gloria saw in that hypie of a husband of hers

  • tvland should put this series on along with Maude since both were spinoffs

  • thank you for posting this. what language is the subtitles in? I am going to guess Dutch but I'm sure I'm wrong

  • @video77ab Your guess was right

  • @weightfeather1 She was to Edith sometimes, like in the rape episode when Edith didn't want iedntify the rapist Gloria screams, "I'M ASHAMED OF YOU, YOU'RE NOT MY MOTHER ANY MORE!" And I cheered when Edith slapped the shit out of her!

  • @pgy002 That wasn't disrespectful, Edith needed a kick in the ass for not standing up to the guy who raped her. It was tough love, nothing more. The guy would have hurt someone else if Edith hadn't gone to identify him in a line up, someone needed to make her see that, and that's what Gloria did.

  • @tmwalkerm Well Gloria's little spoiled daddy's girl ass had never been raped nor been through that so she didn't know what Edith was feeling, so she need to back the FUCK off! And plus that was her mother she was talking to like that! It's off there were definitly times when Archie needed a kick in the ass, but when Mike "gave that to him" everyone's like, "Hell if I was Archie I'd kick his ass out of the house!" What's the deal with that?

  • @pgy002 You obviously know NOTHING about the show, she had been a victim of sexual harassment and hadn't wanted to press charges for the same reason Edith didn't. Get your facts straight before you go spouting off.

  • @tmwalkerm Being sexaully harrassed is a lot different than being RAPED, or even almost raped. I mean a someone looking up your skirt and wholf-whisteling is not as sever as someoen cornering and physcially forcing themselves on you!

  • @pgy002 And yeah I know there are a lot of typos in my post, it's b/c I'm typing fast and dont really care right now, so thought I'd save you from pointing that out as a comeback like most people do.

  • @pgy002 Absolutely its different, but the feelings of helplessness and fear are still there either way. Gloria didn't want to say anything when it happened to her, same as Edith didn't want the police to know what happened to her. All I'm saying is, if Gloria could get through it, then so could Edith, with her family's support, which she wanted no part of at the time. Also you have to remember that things have changed in the 40 years since this was on, this was huge tv back then.

  • @pgy002 Actually, both of them went through very similar things. Gloria was more than sexually harrassed. She was attacked in an alley, her clothes were ripped, and she would have been raped if she hadn't fainted. Both Gloria and Edith were almost raped, so Gloria had a pretty good idea what Edith may have been feeling. She said what she was feeling and she said what Edith needed to hear.

  • @anscibecca86 I still applauded when Edith smacked her! She was always disrespectful to Archie, and acted like a spoiled brat, so I feel she had that coming for a LONG time.

  • @weightfeather1 I think she was worst more in a SPOILED way. I don't think Archie would have talked to his parents the way Gloria did Archie.

  • pillow 10:07

  • Was this the begining of the Gloria spin-off?

  • @gtz1975 Yep- it was a "bback door pilot."

  • They were an awful couple. She was too emotional and he didn't really respect her feminist ways. They were a mess.

  • I never could like Gloria she was SO disrespecful!

  • Say Mynjunkyard,where is part 3&4 of this? Thanks,Peace.

  • whats with all the young girls when did all in the family become the fucking facts of life

  • he was rough around the edges but had a soft spot and did love his family so much even though he wasn't always good with showing his emotions. It must have been very hard for him to take Edith's place.

  • I love their relationship.

  • "The poor pay for the welfare of the rich"??!

Give me a break..I guess Mike became even more libtarded.

  • @woodykinskileone Uh Moron it's true. When wallstreet is bailed out it's by the Government. Where does the Govt get the money? The poor working people you fucking idiot

  • @jaroncreed Not to mention the rich working people. And who abuses the welfare system?Lazy niggers that don't want to work, but that is being redundant

  • @woodykinskileone Did you HAVE to say the N***** word??

  • When did All in the Family go in to syndication?

I ask because,I have vague memories of watching it when i was a kid(I was born in 1971),but don't know if we watched it in syndication,or if we were watching new(at the time)episodes in the regular time slot.

I do remember watching .....Place on Sunday evenings before Alice,Jeffersons and Quincy.

I also remember watching the spin off,Gloria..I think she played a vet in the series?

  • What awful writing!

  • @joeypolanski why would you say awful writing??

  • the lady who played the house keeper just died yesterday...

  • Wow- you can tell its the 80s its funny because all in the family was such 70 style

  • Original CBS Airdate:February 28, 1982

  • Thanks for uploading! I like how they finally show Archie in a good light and Michael in a bad light. Without the racism, Archie had a lot of redeeming qualities.

    @7:15,

Meathead had a point about the national debt though.

  • The black woman is Polly - married to the police detective Ed - who moved in next door to Archie and Edith. Stephanie is Edith's neice, I think and I have no clue who that other young girl is.

  • @aviationwingnut No, this was Ellen, Polly's sister.

  • @snoopy64116 Oh okay, thanks for the info. I haven't seen many Archie Bunker's Place episodes. I guess I was getting it from the AITF episode where the detective and Polly moved in next door.

  • Who the hell are these three women?

  • @thx291 still wrong, Mike was left indeed, which is a good thing, but he certainly wasn't the kind of guy to leave his wife and child. He acted very supportive most of the time.

  • Work changes some people. It's easy to be supportive and caring when you're living off of someone else. Once Mike had to theoretically work for a living, he became a douche. Plus, the times were swinging to the right as the conservatives, having dropped racism, became popular again by turning the economy around. Archie's commitment to his family was good and Mike's tolerance was good, but tolerance is only a true virtue under adversity.

  • Thank u for uploading this :) do u have any more episodes of Archie Bunkers place?

  • Obviously, there was a bond between Oconner and Struthers...

  • Archie's living with two teenagers and has a housekeeper who is an African American?
