I was a professional singer in Europe for more than 30 years. It;s amazing to hear your accomplished technique so firmly fixed already. I hope you might consider a career in opera. Of course there are no body mikes there, but I have no doubt you'd project out to an audience, even over full orchestra. Whatever you decide, I hope you continue to post videos so others can enjoy your immense talent. Congratulations! Ernesto Vasselli
WOW!Thank you soo much for your kind words! It is such an honour to hear positive feedback from an accomplished professional.I am currently studying classical singing at McGill University with Stefano Algieri and he is helping me build my voice and technique tremendously.I love musical theatre and opera, and hopefully will be able to do both.
wow erin, i feel like such a loser for commenting cause i know you and all so saying that you're increadible's kinda a given :p you know you got this song stuck in my head for like a week during camp! it was playing on loop 0_0 you're too damn good, can i take some of your talent, and you can have my purple pants.
Wow! absolutely the best. G&S left us some of the most beautiful songs ever composed, both in music and in lyrics. Although the operettas are supposed to be lighthearted, which they are, they always, always deserve to be sung with a vocal technique that is no less than operatic in stature. This is when the true genius of these two men can be appreciated!
Bravo, I can tell you have been working on that one! Your chorus is spot on too.
Where do your instincts tell you to do next: more G&S operetta? If so, I'd love to hear you as Yum-Yum in Mikado. Or a musical like South Pacific or My Fair Lady? OMG you have the world still in front of you and may one day sing Un Bel Di.
Thank you so much!I actually sang Three Little Maids from the Mikado and was Yum-Yum.I really love Broadway, but I also enjoy singing opera,I just don't see myself in an actual opera, but I'd love to do recital work.
Your voice is incredible! This is one of my favorite songs in the world, and it was a pleasure to hear you sing it. I would give you a standing ovation, if I could. Encore! :)
aww thank you so much!I just finished a 2 year music program at Vanier College in Montreal,Quebec,Canada.I will be going to McGill University in the fall to study classical voice. But my real dream is to sing Broadway and one day perform on Broadway.Thank you for your nice comment!I really appreciate it :)
Young lady---you are a real "class act"--I was an accompanist (piano major) in college (25 yrs. ago)! You recognized your accompanist...a rare, but very classy thing to do! Thank you !!!!! Very nice to hear you! Best of luck to you!
aww, well thank you so much!I always make sure to acknowledge my accompanist. He is a fantastic man,and if it weren't for him,I wouldn't sound half as good.He will follow me no matter what.Often I'll do a rhythm wrong,or come in too early, and he just catches up to me without a problem, and after 2 years of working with him in school,I'll miss him when I graduate in a few weeks. Thanks so much for your kind words! Do you still accompany?
