This is even funnier - A few months back I was looking for a recording 'Northern Drones' a 1976 piece for Viola and Percussion by Stephen Chatman, and all i found was your music, But i didnt think it was worth complaining about and i didnt ask you to change the name of your band.

@fsweeney1958 arite man relax. i dont have a prob with ruth or her singing here, i quite like her to be honest, but you gotta expect critism when you do a cover like this and give it the stock aiken waterman treatment. shows you missed the whole point of the original but thats fair nuff. what isnt fair nuff is the title . u prob wudnt have got any negative comments at all if you titled it with your own name or ruth, or just stated it was a cover, but then u wudnt have got the views either.

Hi, this isnt really SAW, - - its a couple of samples from a magazine disk, an acoustic guitar, a dobro and a couple of violas, there are no cheesy synths

i used to think that stock aitken and waterman had reached the lowest point in pop music , but i hadnt bargained on the simon cowell/louis walsh empire- can we go any lower ?

Respond to this video... ..as for your stephen chatman experience, thats unfortunate. i never heard of the guy, but aye theres a lot of shit videos on youtube and our band is as guilty as others for adding to that. i still think you should change the title tho, as a compromise mayb we'll change the name of our band to the northern dolphins. id like to hear ruth stummin a guitar tho, do u have any videos of that?

ha ha - i'll look out for the northern dolphins next time i'm in dublin.- there are no other vids of ruth shes a mum now, this was done in 2002, its hard for her to have time to get near a mic. but she still sings dolphins in the more 'traditional' style - all the best

fred neil, who was a free thinking beat, may have liked a 20 year old choosing to do his song , rather than the britney spears covers everyone was doing on the course, It may have even have done its bit to spread the word of this songto other 20 year olds that would not otherwise have heard it or listened if ruth had just been twanging on a guitar trying to copy the original - and to the best of my knowledge no one has died as a result of this arrangment. continues up

When a 20 year old student wants to rearrange one of your songs for a college project, i presume you will tell them to cease and desist, unless it meets with your approval.

a few years ago a record label brought out a tribute album of a band i was in, i thought it was great that someone wanted to contribute their interpretatons of our songs, regardless of how they did it, and its always interesting to hear how another person hears things

I think this is one of the coolest things I've heard in ages. Great voice, great arrangement, and great low-key "I couldn't care less" presentation.
