That is true. You need to disable all the wireless you know of so you can get an accurate reading. Also the sensitivity can be adjusted and the antenna can be lowered to shorten the range. this is a blog with details on finding them. spyville.blogspot.com/2009/04/­bug-detectors.html

Most any detector will work they all find wireless signals. but they do not separate the signals so you need to disable all the wireless devices you know of before starting to search

None of them will just point you at a bug you need to sweep the room for signals and determine what is causing the signal

ive been watching alot of this specific rf detectors, does it really work? is it worth 15-20 dollars i dont want cheap stuff
