I'm not sure if it works here, but I'll say it anyway.

Hold Ctrl while placing a note to flatten it.

Hold Shift while placing a note to sharpen it.

It seemed as though you didn't know how to do so. Then again, this isn't the same Mario Paint Composer that I use, so I'm not sure.

@rndmshtaccount So this is the original Mario Paint "composer", it's the actual composer that came with the Super Nintendo game. In that, you can't sharp or flat notes. The footage in this video is from the SNES game.

I haven't tried it yet myself. But i was able to find the program that you can download. Just google Mario Paint Composer and some sites with it should pop up. It was version 2.0 that was the latest to be released. It is free too!

Well, if using the composer is stupid, then the orchestras should have only one instrument.

What's the problem in having more breathing space in your works? It's nice when the limitations fit into your preferences, and nycer4lyfe was certainly not happy with it. I think it's better having a well-made song than one severely handicapped by the program's limitations. It would be ok if the limitations fit the nycer4lyfe's needs, though, so it's a metter of taste. BTW, nice rendition.

A few things. RetroGamer is right. I wanted more space to work with, and that's what I get with Composer. But it still has it's huge share of limitations. A very limited sound library, as well as only two notes extra to work with, than the 3. I don't have any melodies with 7 voices or anything. So I would really disagree that MPC is a nintendo themed fruityloops.

I also think it's great that people are still watching these videos, thanks guys!

technically it's FF6 because FF 3-5 were not released in the US. But in US yes it'd be called Ff3. If you want to play the 3-5 games, get the psp to get the 2nd' and another one, the others are on the Game Boy Advanced i believe.

I'll bet that's part of it, but also the song goes out of the natural minor scale in a few places, and since you can only compose with the "white notes" (no sharps or flats) in Mario Paint, whoever wrote this had to compromise/improvise a bit in places where the song goes out of A minor. They did a great job, especially considering the limitations. A lot of the other songs on youtube done with Mario Paint were probably chosen because they use all white notes (i.e. "Never Gonna Give You Up")

I will tell you this. Just tie your love for video games into something that involves a vocation that you plan on entering. Example: If your a sports star, get madden/nba/fifa/mlb anything. In most of those games you can customize how you play the came, with football for example you can create and call your own plays. That being said, Madden just helps you practice the plays your learning in real practice! You got this man.
