This looks really nice. I had a similar (possibly the same, actually) Japanese game for the PS.
I'll have to pick this one up at some point.
I recently bought an N64 off Ebay and the first two games I bought were Wave Race 64 and a game I surprisingly hadn't heard of - Space Station: Silicon Valley. Shocked that I hadn't heard of it as it's from DMA Design (a fine Scottish developer!) and it's pretty damn special!!
It's a 3D platform game so it's pretty similar to Mario 64 in that respect.
It was way ahead of its time as far as I'm concerned and I reckon if they released it today with fancier graphics people would see it in the same light as Little Big Planet, Viva Pinata, and World of Goo as far as bringing something new to its genre.
I will post a video of the game when I can figure out why my webcam is being silly.
I picked the game up on Ebay just over a week ago and was happy to get it for £4.49 with free postage.
That was the first time I went over my £3/£4 rule for retro games but since then I've been interested in Japanese Megadrive games and that rule has been thrown aside...
It has the manual but it wasn't in the original box, being an ex-rental from some video store, and came in a video case.
I saw the video, had to have it, bought it, and I'm chuffed! :-D
Mm, interesting title...although it looks a bit dated today (like many chunky N64 adventures) I expect having a big town like that to run around was pretty impressive back in the day. :) Great coverage as ever.
There was another RPG on the N64 in a similar vein to this. Can't for the life of me remember what its called but I think it had quest in the title but besides that I think the number of RPG's was pretty much zilch for the system.
Yes just had a quick look - some crazy prices on there.. although there's a couple of cart only on BIN for £8.99 which I guess is a decent price for this game at the moment...
The N64 is a great system, I survived on just having this console for many years... though I never had Goeman.. mainly because I didn't really knwo what sort of game it is. I'm still not quite sure from your vid, but it looks interesting enough to look out for
I remember this game lol. I had no idea what was going on and I remember getting stuck at this big dirt hill or something.

You play it on an LCD screen and the picture seems to be great! Do you use an upscaler or something?
Greetings from Brazil.

@GanbareGoemonTV No afraid it's a HDTV screen :( It's a 32" Samsung.
Lorfarius 1 year ago
@Lorfarius So, you simply plug the console straight to the TV? The picture seems great for an N64.
GanbareGoemonTV 1 year ago
@GanbareGoemonTV Yep, into a Scart Adaptor. Nothing special.

@Lorfarius Glad to know it. I'm sticking with my old style tube because of my classic consoles.

There's loads of these games across all the different systems. Might be worth picking up a complete collection.

I've heard of Space Station but never actually seen it in action. What type of game is it?

Might be a chance of it appearing on the Wii shop.

Looks interesting never played it it kinda has elements from mario 64 and ocarina of time with the collecting elements.
Do you know of any other rpgs apart from ocarina of time and majoras mask?

Just be a bit careful with the prices on ebay. It fluctuates from anything between £5 and £15. A close eye should pick you up a cheap copy.

I've heard about Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon but never seen any reviews about it. Anyway, it looks fun.
5 Stars!

Thanks :) Strangely enough this game doesnt get a lot of love on the N64 but its probably one of the systems better titles.

Have this game but only played it for 5 mins, will give it a proper go now. Keep up the good work!

I'm still not sure after playing it for several hours either :p Closest comparison is a mix between Mario 64 and an RPG light.
