Dwight flopped in the FINALS, he didn't have his first dunk till like game 2 or 3. Against the Cavs, easy dunks every game, not the same with the Lakers. Amar'e always steps up.

Tim Duncan isn't a center. Also, wasn't David and Ewing mainly known for scoring and rebounding? Anyway, Shaq would give Dwight trouble in his prime. Shaq had more muscle, bigger frame and was very active. But the game isn't how it was when Shaq entered the game. All anyone can make is comparisons & assumptions since Shaq isn't in his prime anymore and Dwight hasn't really reached his prime yet (imo). Howard does things Shaq did then: score inside, rebound, block, etc. which is why I said that.
Dude David Robinson and Tim Duncan played on the same team when Sahq faced them. Either one of them were centers. Shaq would dominate Howard on every aspect of the game, Shaq had better overall stats his rookie year. Howard barely reached those stats last year.

However, Dwight is more athletic, quicker and still adding to his game. And, believe it or not, Dwight shoots a better FT% plus has a little more range than Shaq since he's been working on his jumpshot. Dwight is starting to pass out better but he is still pretty one-dimensional... either way, I think he's getting there...

When Dwights under the rim, he has focus that most bigs have now: Slam It or Block It!!! But yeah, Dwight does lack some post moves and only seems to move in one direction majority of the time... Still, he's making progress....
Dwight didn't do it single-handedly. He had a group of all-stars. Nash is too old. All Amar'e really has is Barbosa and J-Rich. I think that Leandro Barbosa and Mickael Pietrus should be in All-Star Game 2010.

@ahaji thats the reason howard is the most underrated player. everyone says he has no post moves or jumpshot. yet last season you could see him spinning baseline, sinking mid range shots, and of course dunking on everything.

@datfunkyfresh no kevin love is underatted along with michael beasley. They are both going to be GREAT players. Howard never has trouble getting into the all star game because he jumps high and his team wins. Love had to be added to the roster by stern with 21 points and 15 rebounds a game while shooting 40 percent from 3 while being 6 foot 9. People call Beas a bust....he averaged 20 points a game during a injury filled season.

Amare is better on offense, Howard is better on defense. Period. End of discussion. I'd still rather have Howard if I were putting a team together. There's a good chunk of guys that can get you 22 and 8. Only one will give you 21 pts, 15 boards and 3 blocks damn near every night. Dwight DOMINATES the paint. You can't say that about Amare. He's more of a 15 foot player with a highlight dunk mixed in.

Dwight flopped in the FINALS, he didn't have his first dunk till like game 2 or 3. Against the Cavs, easy dunks every game, not the same with the Lakers. Amar'e always steps up.

suns have had unlucky breaks in the playoffs in the tougher western conference and so wat if d12 got into the finals he didn't win so it dosen't mean a whole lot its a team game fool. Amare has a better all around game and hes so much better offensively its not even funny & also d12 will never get to shaqs level

Bullshit, look at Shaq's stats from the day he was a rookie, he's been putting up big numbers against guys like David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Tim Duncan, centers with great defense! Howard is good but anybody here knows damn well a Shaq in his prime would fuck up Dwight Howard any day

Tim Duncan isn't a center. Also, wasn't David and Ewing mainly known for scoring and rebounding? Anyway, Shaq would give Dwight trouble in his prime. Shaq had more muscle, bigger frame and was very active. But the game isn't how it was when Shaq entered the game. All anyone can make is comparisons & assumptions since Shaq isn't in his prime anymore and Dwight hasn't really reached his prime yet (imo). Howard does things Shaq did then: score inside, rebound, block, etc. which is why I said that.

Dude David Robinson and Tim Duncan played on the same team when Sahq faced them. Either one of them were centers. Shaq would dominate Howard on every aspect of the game, Shaq had better overall stats his rookie year. Howard barely reached those stats last year.

I wouldn't say "every aspect of the game". Shaq was very big, strong and active; possessed good footwork and very active plus, I'll give the bonus of playing college ball. However, Dwight is more athletic, quicker and still adding to his game. And, believe it or not, Dwight shoots a better FT% plus has a little more range than Shaq since he's been working on his jumpshot. Dwight is starting to pass out better but he is still pretty one-dimensional... either way, I think he's getting there...

Yea quicker and athletic but Dwight doesnt posses that killer instinct down under the rim like shaq did. And hell no does Dwight have more range he never faces up ever!! Shaq had a baby hook. Dwight has yet to get a go-to move.

Heck yeah Dwight has more range. Didn't you see him hitting bank shots earlier last season? Plus Howard has the running hook. When Dwights under the rim, he has focus that most bigs have now: Slam It or Block It!!! But yeah, Dwight does lack some post moves and only seems to move in one direction majority of the time... Still, he's making progress....

dwight howard is pathetic for his size and leaping abillity. seriously he has no moves and that ugly attempt at a hook shot is horrible, he can't do much but dunk after an offensive rebound or when he's right around the rim. please give me that athleticism and size and i'd be averaging 40ppg and 20rpg and 6bpg! also he is a shaq imposter he tries to copy shaq in everything but in the end all he'll be is a fraud. also he isn't that buff just on his arms. have u seen his legs!? they're scrawny
