i thought the same way, Peyton and Lucas being the two most influential characters on the show. that the show needs them that it doesn't make sense for them to leave but really when i thought about it, their story is pretty much over. The love story of Lucas Scott and Peyton Sawyer was all about how Lucas knew they'd be together and in the end that's what happened. it was a great story and it was in need of the ending it got

I've watched Season 7 up to episode 12 and it's still awesome without them in it.

It allows the show to concentrate on the other characters.

There's not much more Lucas and Peyton could do now anyway.

They both have everything they wanted from the beginning of the series.

i think that the show is still strong with the introduction of these new characters.... Lucus and peyton were definatly two vital characters and would be hard to replace but "One tree hill"is still the same show. It would be in good taste to have those two come back and do a final farewell showing us what they're gunna be doing... It provides closure for the two and the viewers.......... I like peyton, but their biggest mistake would be to take lucas off because when the show first started it was all about him, he was basically the main point then everyone started to slowly get main roles, but he's basically what one tree hill is.

This is always what happens with successful shows like these. The main characters leave after a couple of seasons, killing the show. I do think this will be the end of one tree hill, im very dissapointed. It just wont be right with out Leynton to be honest. They arent my favrioute couple but the show will not be the same. Other characters will come and go, but will never have the same affect that main 6 did.

Its sad news as One Tree Hill was built around Lucas however the past 2 season they've spent more time on the rest of the cast and great story lines the best of which is Nathan, Haley and Jamie. I think Season 7 will be a success but i think they should have ended it like friends which all the original cast. End of Season 6 was great seeing Dan, Whitey and Karen in it they could have made it a perfect ending. But shame Chad Michael Murrey thought he was to big for the show.

I only watched for Peyton anyways. But we are not just losing Leyton, We are losing two very strong friendships two. Lucas and Haley, Brooke and Peyton. I love brooke and Juilan they are the reason I will watch next season. But I feel like adding all new people it's going to make the show like a spin off which totally sucks. And Hilarie didn't leave the show over money. She said so. I actually heard Chad did, but she left because Chad left, she wanted the leyton fans to have a happy ending.

I do not think the show will be the same because in my opinion the show was cast for them! From the 1st episode it has been about those two! I cannot fathom why they wouldnt want either one of them back! But that is not to say I won't see how the 7th season goes, but I predict a downfall in ratings and maybe the end of the show itself!

well i basically watch for Brooke, Nathan, Haley, Jamie, and Skills (in that order). i fast forward pretty much all Leyton scenes anyways so i won't be missing much. i think that there will be a bit of a loss with the Lucas character but i think the show will survive just fine. i look forward to seeing more of Haley, Nathan, and Brooke and i'm happy about Austin Nichols becoming part of the regular cast. i wish both CMM and HB the best of luck but i'm not too broken up about it.
