Nod a woman to dance w/her, you meet on dancing floor, she may not speak your language, she may be from another culture but, all of the sudden you start playing this game of seduction. Instant intimacy, you smell each others perfumes, breaths; you feel each others heartbeats, you're taken to heaven and hell and back to heaven again. You live a full blown romance during the tangos you dance together! There's nothing like tango in the whole World! I dare say, only making love is better than tango!

Tango is a popular dance and thus, anybody can do it. No hips, no shaking just a way of walking! When older dancers see you dance and if you're any good they'll say 'que bien que camina el tango ese pibe' (that kid walks the tangos so well!) So, one has to walk and learn to lead a woman to do the figures and steps you want both to do on the dance floor! A woman, how to follow a man's lead as she walks back most of the time!

Falling in love? Well, that happens when you least expect it!

Are the basic steps of tango difficult to learn??

Not that difficult but, it may take some time depending on each person's ability to learn them. Truly, it's not all about the steps and figures a lot of it is instinct or artistry, attitude and taste!

Yes, I do tango and everything I said is exactly as I feel! I happen to love being so mischievously close to a tango partner but, that is a personal preference! There's nothing like a really personal interaction, another human being with whom to dance heart to heart and cheek to cheek!

I think the guy might be a bit lost, and only a bit, but, the girl... She knows exactly what she's doing! In any event this is like acting...The girl sometimes looks at the camera and goes immediately back to character! There's a stretch from dancing a few tangos to becoming lovers!

Tango may be a way of life, in dancing is the way one walks, with elegance, style, allowing the woman to look beautiful. As I said before, it's like acting but also, a game of seduction at the same time. Its indescribable, you either get it or not! You just play this game and act, maybe a fight or make up, a love affair, whatever you fancy at that time! It is tantalizing and beautiful! It can't be just written here!

Totally, in its lurid beginnings it was danced in bordellos, as foreplay! That's where it all started.

Then it became social and went to the streets and men used to practice with each other to be able to impress girls!

If I were a professional then it would lose all the fun of it! I would have to get a partner and develop choreografies, practice the choreographies and so on!

No, I dance socially, in parties called milongas to dance tango to the wee hours of the night! What I've been describing before!

Look at the dancers. She plays with him, he plays back most of the time, she looks pretty, grabs him passionately then releases him, he's puzzled and so on! They play with each other like two love birds. In a tango party, after a set of four tangos there is a interlude, you kiss each other in the cheek and thank each other for having danced so well and change partners for the next set! During the night you may repeat partners shure but, not usually dance two sets in a row that's a bit risqué

Hi ! thank You for your message. Most of Argentian know at least the basic steps of Tango. There are school in Argentina that teach Tango for free which is great that know my cousin learn Tango. I was born in Argentina but I don't know how to Tango but is in my list.

Hope one day you can visit Argentina to see the true beauty of Tango.
