every1,s talking how it still works, but i aslo want to know did it do any damage to the outter phone?..... i not only want it to work, i also got a case to keep the looks!!!!
@MaLifeTtT Not ding, scratch, dent, or crack. So far I've had 2 iPhones (4/4s) in it and they both have been 100% when I took them back out. I still haven't found a better case.
!CAUTION ! To ensure you phone doesn't end up as mine DO NOT BUY A life proof case. my PHONE IS WRECKED FROM A CASUAL SWIM AT THE BEACH!. LifeProof only warrants the CASE NOT THE PHONE therefore for showing lack of confidence in their product as it has failed its main purpose being water proof.iv had this1 month and the warranty has already expired WHAT a coincidence. this So call LifeProof Case cant even handle a small dip in the ocean despite the fact it saying " Take your LifeProof surfing"
@minifast8807 I used a similar method to trussing meat i.e. lots of loops and knots. I've since built an aluminum tripod mount for the phone that has a loop built-in, I realized how easy I could loose the phone when I threw it for that video.
The first gen lifeproof case the screen thing does affect typing cause u have to press down harder cause its a loose pocket of air jus press it against ur chest BUT the bew 2nd gen case for iphone 4/4s doesnt have any problems with the screen its a perfect case
Great review! I LOL at how hard you flung the phone! :) I'm getting my first iphone, and doing more than my fair share of reading/watching reviews. Hope you don't mind answering a few questions! 1.) Does the screen affect your ability to type? 2.) When you say it affects the ear speaker, can you hear at all? Or is it just muffled? Finally, I'm interested b/c I'd like to swim in the pool and listen to music. Have you had it under water for a long period of time? Thanks so much!
@swaimygirl Congrats on the new iPhone! 1. It does affect the typing slightly, but not enough to cause any problems. 2. I can still hear just fine through the speaker, it's just a bit muffled 3. I have not tried to listen to it under water, but they do have a headset and adapter for doing just that. Good luck and thanks for watching
@Illr3ptar It doesn't seem like it would be as durable as the survivor case but so far mine has 100% protected my phone. Much less bulk and far easier to use, dealing with the video camera cover on the survivor is a pain so I love that the LifeProof has just a lense. When my survivor case wears out on my iPad I'll probably replace it with a LifeProof case as well. I rate LifeProof #1 with survivor case a close but not so waterproof 2nd.
Awesome. I have the griffin survivor it's great for protection but I don't like how bulky it is in y pocket and I want something water proof. How does life proof protection/durability compare
@threekill28 I haven't had any responsiveness issues, even at the edges. It's maybe 1/4-1/2 inch longer. It basically feels like the phone doesn't have a case.
@DanielHeusburgh Yes. I had an Otterbox case before the Lifeproof and didn't really like it. Otterbox isn't waterproof , the rubber flaps don't stay very secure, and it's bulky. My wife has Otterbox on hers and the front plastic screen came unglued. I'm not a fan. If I didn't have Lifeproof I'd probably have Griffin Survivor case on it. I have a Survivor case on my iPad and really like it. It's not "waterproof", but it's extremely resistant and very durable.
@Lancekkilmer Griffin Survivor suck JUST because of that camera plug flap. love the slimness of Lifeproof, wish I didn't already buy an Otterbox since that money could've gone to a lifeproof!
@Mikenopolis I wouldn't saw the Survivor sucks but I definitely agree that flap could use some re-engineering for easier use. At least make those "grips" long enough human fingers can actually grip them.
@Lancekkilmer since the screen portion is only protected by that thin plastic membrane do you feel that it may be to exposed? I tore off the screen from the Otterbox and kept my full screen shield on my phone so dust don't get trapped.
@Mikenopolis I think it's about as protected as a touch screen can be and still function properly and be waterproof. I think that's a good idea with your screen. You might try to make some sort of rubber or similar material seal to go around the seam between the screen and case so dust doesn't slide under that lip and get in behind the phone. A different case I had did that and ended up scratching up the back of the phone.
@tritan1 Talking/hearing is toned down. I use the ear buds a lot of the time. As far as recording it seems to be fine so far. The only real problem I've had is it can overheat the phone (no damage, it just stops recoding), it's only happened to me when I was filming the bugout bag video, it was extremely hot and I was in the direct mid-day sun. It was hot. But I'm happy and have no plans to put any other case on my phone.
@bluemoonconstruction The screen cover isn't really hard, more flexible than I imagined. It's just as responsive as any other case I used. I don't have any problems using the phone with this case on it. I'll be interested when they released the iPad 2 model.

@vulcan045 I had to do the little scrape modification to my case when I upgraded from 4 to 4s. I haven't used the "official" 4s case yet.
