For those thinking about trucking, the truth is dispatch will lie, they get you to the East Coast and leave you with little 150 mile runs, they try to keep you away from you family for months at a time, they will charge you for every little incident even though they have insurance. If you do drive keep a video camera and video everything you do.

Swift is a "starter company" for recent grads of whichever CDL school they went to. One can't expect every driver for Swift to be the greatest driver on the road. Non Swift driver are just pissed because they don't work for them.
DON'T GO TO WORK FOR SWIFT! Ever wonder why they are always the butt of jokes? They earned that, it wasn't just given to them. I've also heard from a terminal mgr that they are about to go bankrupt! As of 14-APR-09 I believe this to be true, but am not an employee nor other person that would have direct knowledge, so this can't be taken as the truth, just what I heard.
sklarich1, Swift deserves to go bankrupt for all the corrupt activity they have engaged in and all the drivers they have abused including me. Perhaps when the bigger companies finally fail, then order will be restored in the trucking industry.
I'm interested in becoming a truck driver. But i wanna know how much money will I be making. Can somebody help me out with that? I wanna get some facts from real truck drivers...
uh, yeah right. How much will one really make with Swift in their first year and be honest. Swift is a bloated company that grew too fast and most drivers OTR will not clear over $30,000 their first year. Bad idea promoting Swift. General freight companies are not a way to make your money. Work for companies which have established lanes and don't get bounced around the country by Swift or any sweat shop outfit. At last check, Swift was not paying all miles driven. Movers guide is B.S.
