GET your heads out of your asses baby boomers these movies were so popular b/c they could get away with showing ass at the beach. These movies were highly sexualized, especially for this era. You just remember them fondly b/c they took place in your youth. Now you are hating on "this generation" the exact same way your parents hated on these movies. This is the sweetest songs from any of the "Beach Party" films. Annette sang it on one LP that is difficult to find, and VERY expensive if you're lucky enough to locate one. The record company has put out several Annette hit albums, but are not smart enough to have included this song which was one of her very best. How beautful and lovely was Annette. Although these movies were really nonsensical, didn't have any real message to them, and were never "Oscar" quality, they were still fun to watch, the music was very much from the period, and it was all wholesome fun, the songs had meaning and you didn't have all the nasty crap on television and in the movies today.

Annette does a slightly differently arranged, solo version of this ballad on her 1964 Buena Vista "Bikini Beach" LP (which Disney -- ignorant of the treasure sitting in its archives -- has never re-released or licensed to any downloading site.) In my humble opinion, that version of "Because Your'e You" is one of the best recordings she EVER made - no reliance whatsoever on double tracking and it is just bleeds emotion.
