  • that's the most beautiful thing i've ever seen

  • The position in which the infant is being born is strange... I thought whales and dolphins were born tail first, otherwise they will think they are in the air and breathe in the water and drown,

  • wow

  • I cant believe shes gone RIP kalina I love you and miss you babygirl

  • u guys made me ink! lol!!

  • why does she do that spin??? does it make it easier

  • death twirl much xD hahahhaa such a cute baby

  • R.I.P Kalina :(

  • this is katina

  • @emukanina This is Katina giving birth to Kalina Katina was captured

  • @FutureOrkidTrainer yea i know

  • @emukanina :)

  • You've got to be kidding me...because we have witnessed so many orca births and stillbirths in the wild??? Well, surely with such a thinking process, let's not bother fixing our oceans and put all orcas in SeaWorld custody...Now THAT would be the ideal solution wouldn't it? You're a joke...SeaWorld is a joke! What we need to do as a specie is focus our energy on repairing earth's natural habitats, i.e.: oceans, and leave the orcas in the wild where they SHOULD be!

    Cheers,

    Founder WhiteEarth

  • @christopherbeau

    I second that statement.

They belong in the wild where they're free and the orca moms can teach her baby the real ways of living: socializing, collectively feeding, and swimming miles at a time, not in circles.

  • @P1NKBLUSH I believe that too, but most animals are in captivity because they would't survive in the real world. In captivity they don't have to worry about hunger or danger to their young, its an easier life.

  • R.I.P Lina

  • @christopherbeau Stillbirths are even more often in the wild than in captivity and just less baby orcas survive the first day in the wild because of humans !! We throw our rubbish into the sea chemical and nuclear trash! This is toxic and it gets into the milk of female orcas because they re eating poisson fish... Some of the whales do better if they live in facilities like seaworld

  • ORCA DEATHS AT SEA WORLD PARKS Fact: Killer whales live average 29 years for the females and 50 years for the males. Let's see how SeaWorld is doing with their captive orcas. • HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!! the 1 that started it all :)

  • I love Kalina! Happy birthday sweetie!

  • someone needs to tell that whale she came out the wrong way

  • I love how every one is like "YESS!"

  • FUCK YOU who says that captivity kills. They are ALL L-I-E-S LIES LIES LIES!

    The animals are lonley: LIES!

The animals are forced to perform tricks : LIES!

The animals are abused: COMPLETE LIES!

Food controls the animals: BIG FAT LIES!

  • @Herpsteen Heres the thing...and if you cant understand this than theres really no hope for the human race. The word is......CHOICE. These animals are never given a choice as to what they want.Humans cant properly communicate with them so they assume its ok.If you had the choice of living in your natural environment why would you want to exist in some artificial, reconstructed and a billion times smaller to nature habitat?????????? Whoever asked them??? Who gave them a choice??? Exactly.Out.

  • @multibuddhaneo Lol tell me how you can force an animal like a Killer Whale to do anything? For Orca's like Kalina and all captive borns this IS a natural environment. The captured Orca's *of which there are VERY few left now* they can't be released but live very good lives.

  • @IAmADalek Its about CHOICE you tree hugger. They were never given the CHOICE.Now what if you were born and stuck in a room the size of your bathroom without your consent for the rest of your life????? These animals know whats up.You would know too that there was something else out there.Good lives..are you serious??You are talking about mammals that swim sometimes hundreds of miles a day,get to hunt what they want, choose their own mates & have relationships. You are gonna deprive them of that????

  • @Herpsteen: hey Herpsteen, you're a moron and have been reported to YouTube for your vulgar posts - clean it up and stop being such an idiot.

  • @cefurst1.... the animals are not enjoying themselves..families ripped apart early death etc...so yes you support this captive shit you are indeed a redneck ass wipe.... a waste of air! If it were not for the stupid rednecks these beautiful animals would not have to live this horrible life.... in the wild these animals stay together for life.. in $W they are ripped apart and shipped all over the world to other parks... just to entertain stupid redneck ass wipes that have nothing better to do!!!

  • poor baby must be dizzy from katina circling like that, i know i would, i would have been throwing up, lol

  • You people piss me off you run your mouths about how much you disagree with these animals being in a tank. They were born there you idiots If you set them

Free they would die. This is a beautiful thing you watched. What's the difference in these animals in a tank and you having a dog or a cat or a fish. There animals these animals are very well takin care of so know your shit before u start running ur mouth

  • @hoopdeesgrl There actually is a big difference between dolphins and domestic pets. First off, domestic pets are-domesticated. They have been bred for thousands of years to live in the care of man, they hold little resemblance to their wild cousins. Captive dolphins and whales have not been domesticated, most are in the first, second or third generation. They have needs that can not be provided for in captivity. No matter how wells seaworld takes care of them, it is still abuse.

  • is this the birth of kalina or kalina having a baby?

  • What a shame she'll never know the ocean, her true home.

  • Another slave born into capitivity...how horrible and the ass holes yelling... Lets see four children and one grandchild and are any of them together or have they all been shipped out to different parks??? This just makes me sick to think this poor thing has to live the rest of it's life entertaining red neck assholes!!!!!!

  • @cpcastar in that case you would be calling me a red neck ass hole. shut ur face before you call the people who go to seaworld to see the amazing animals they have there and to enjoy themselves. do you think they are redneck assholes?

  • sorry such

  • this is suck an amazing video...if it weren't for captivity then we could probably never see this happening

  • @dolphinluvr23 there would be some way of seeing it but even if there wasnt, I sure as hell would rather go through my life without seeing such beauty for them to be in their natural place in the world. its completely selfish to have them in captivity.

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • :) the most beautiful creature in the world!

  • @orcakrazy maybe in the wild

  • aww baby kalina!!I forgot whos her mom?

  • @CraigTuckerGrlfriend Katina is her mum : D

  • wow she was so tiny and now shes so big! =]

  • Oh Kalina :D

  • So Beautiful! That's what I call a water birth! (Sorry... couldn't resist the urge) :-)

  • Kalina was so beautiful!

  • Whose playing 'auntie' to her?

  • Kona2

  • Can i use this footage? i promise i give u credit:}

  • wait aren't orcas (& other dolphins & whales) born tail first? lucky this 1 didnt drown

  • They are normally born tail first but on some ocasions they are born head first, which is dangerous.

  • yea I KNOW! thats y i said lucky it didnt drown!

  • Wow! Amazing! I was at Seaworld Orlando in 1987 and I got to place my hand flat directly above her left eye. I was so afraid at the time. I am so happy she is still alive and doing well. I want to go see her again.

  • @DarkRavenII

Kalina is the first successful killer whale birth in captivity. Every critic said she would die. I wonder what they said a year later. That's why she is known as "Baby Shamu". But, she kind of isn't a baby anymore.

  • Does anyone have truas birth?

  • So... is she still alive?

  • You'd better believe it! Today, Kalina is 23 years old and has four kids and even one grandchild.

  • Oh... thats good.

  • @TilikumLive It's highly inappropriate for a killer whale to have a grandchild at the age of 23. Most don't start breeding until they're 13 and only have a calf every 5 years. If Kalina was bred properly, she'd only have 2 calves by now and the oldest would still not be young enough to be breeding herself.

This is breeding by captive standards, and it's no good for the mothers or the babies.

  • @mama2boyz2004 The oldest would still be TOO YOUNG herself, is what I meant.

  • @TilikumLive They once had a episode on Animal Planet called That's My Baby! and one episode featured Kalina. It was spectacular!

  • Wow! Baby Kalina

  • aww!!
