This is the exact translation of one of the most popular russian lullabies which sounds in the very begining here:
0:23 Lullaby. Don't lie on the end. Grey wolfing will come and nip you( literally- your side). It'll nip you and lug off into forest under a broom bush.
thank you for this,, I love this song.. just now 16years old Russian girl has visited and I showed this... I am Japanese by the way. I met Yuri Norshetein in Japan. He was very kind man..
oh my!!! 1979!! and this movie just kills everything else i have seen in youtube!!! im so happy to found this beauty!!! thank you so much!, todays animators should see this kind of animations
I love this film. It's so wistful and moving. On that note, can anyone tell me the name of the song the husbands' wives dance to, preferrably in Cyrillic letters, along with the artist? That scene breaks my heart.
I believe that you meant "Utomlennoe solntse". I actually found out about that animation thanks to that song:)
hmm, it seems that I can't post links here:/ youtube links... damn, such a nice description was there.
Okey, just type it in search engine of youtube, Or go check out the "Ta_ostatnia_niedziela" entry on wikipedia... Enjoy.
You may also want to check out the original Polish version "Ostatnia Niedziela". Or at least I hope you do because I'm Pole and you would make me upset otherwise;)
Thank you so much! That was really helpsul, actually. And I will totally be sure to look up the Polish version. I'm part Polish myself, actally, as well as Ukrainian, but i only speak Russian. And English (quite obviously).
This kind of film is like wine it takes an aquired taste and it is also like a poem were everything isnt just laid out in front of you but you have to think about the film and what it might mean.I thought the part where the soldiers were leaving their wives and moved like shadows through the women was a powerful scene. I showed it to my papa who is also a poet he liked it. To Satampra I love spongebob :D who lives in a pinneaple under the sea! Better than hannah montana or highschoolmusicalTRASH
for Aniforce: its supposed to be a memory, I doubt anyone has movie styled memories of their past, thats why it jumps from one scene to the next without explanation, and if you need one for watching something then you really shouldnt be watching something like this, its way above your level of comprehension, just stick to watching sponge bob maybe youll find something artistic about that..

This is supposed to be the animation with the award of greatest animation in history? I'm sorry, it's just not my cup of tea... For 1979 I don't like the animation and illustration... And the story is so fague that I can't watch is fully...

No, I don't mind "dynamic stuff". I'm an animator myself. It's just that I've seen better (non-dynamic-)animations with a story that speaks more to me.
this animation has a pretty clear story if you get a little bit into the culture and history. and if you don't, it's just beafutiful, isn't that enough?
sad,love,hopeless..anyone knows what's the name of the piano piece here? I'm pretty sure it's by mozart, but i can't find it's name anywhere.please help.
The translation of the lullaby is not accurate. There's a much better one that's up on wikipedia: Baby, baby, rock-a-bye/On the edge you mustn't lie/Or the little grey wolf will come/And will nip you on the tum,/Tug you off into the wood/Underneath the willow-root.
it's hypnothising though there is no traditional plot. It's just another type of seeng the reality. The message? I think one had better looked it through, this is only the 1 part
i dont understnad..is it just pure simbolism? Like Utena Revolutionary Girl(the movie)??..and this is sorta scarring me..sorryy i know ppl that alrady commented said that they loved it..but i dont understand the messege..<=[ im sorrrrry i love the art by the way..its so..realistic..but in the other hand ists animated too..and its soo strange..its sorta like the Gorillaz...
OMG! I used to love this film fifteen years ago, whe i was but a very young child. I could never understand what it was about---but I was always hypnotized by it. Thank you for uploading.
I know! He is my all-time favourite animator. The best thing about his animations is the quality of them isn't it?! Thanks for uploading it though it's so amazing ^_^

если произведение настолько сильно, что у человека возникает желание признаться в таком открыто - значит насчёт гения вы не ошиблись. :: ))

I don't like his stuff at all, how did he get all those awards for some weak animations like this??
Shhhhhtttt 3 years ago
Probably because it was made in 1979.
FamGuyGuy123 3 years ago
And what I mean for my pervious comment was that in 1979, it would be hard to make a non-dynamic animation, since that wasn't very common.

You know? As deep as the peace of art, as more difficult to understand it...
