What a happy combination! performer and composer all in one beautiful sound package. How interesting to hear his rendering of this work. Thanks Lupot123.
I absolutely love hearing the composer play his own material. One gets to be privy to their insight, not only as the performer, but the direction that they envisioned their piece, musically.
Kreisler refers to Fritz Kreisler, the great violinist, composer, painter, and medical doctor. He composed this piece (Gitana) and, in this video, he is also playing it. Hence he is playing his own composition - Gitana and Kreisler (the violinist) is playing Kreisler (the composer).
Thank you for replying to my message. I know Kreisler who is a medical doctor, composer, and a great violinist. My son has been playing his piece. He is a violinist, and we love him. I meant Gitana. Is this girl's name? Does anyone know about this piece?
Thank you. I speak English, Japanese, and a little German; but I don't speak Spanish. I love this piece; Kreisler, whatever he composes or plays piece is so romantic and beautiful.
Why you use as famous nick as leonidaskavakos? Would you change it because it is extremely indecent to represent the famous greek violinist you aren't with your so stupid comments!
Absolutely ,marvelous. It's great to hear a composer perform his music, especially when it's as highly crafted as Kreisler's. I've got to get to work on this song again...
I love his interpertation more than the current people who play this.

Yes, I gree with you. It is nice to hear the composer plays his/her piece so that we can understand what he/she meant to acheive within the piece.

La Gitana is Spanish and means "(female) Gypsy". Whether it is meant for a particular person, I do not know.
