  • Great job! I liked Dark Shadows best ...even had the board game...:LOL

  • I love this video! :-)

  • I really like Fringe. Does it count if it's new? Mooz sent me. I really like your channel

  • As we do the best S/F here in the Uk

Thats A hard one. Only live 1 mile from Bray Studios here in the UK. A lot of the Star wars stuff was filmed At Bray. So it has to be star wars the first movie. Rock on

  • Great selection, especially Doctor Who; that has to be my all time favourite, then Red Dwarf :-) (Both British!)

  • Faved and shared, as always.

    Wuvs,

    moomay1949

  • ALWAYS AWSUM DOGMA!

    luvs,

    moomay1949

  • Cool animation style.

  • I liked the Quantum Leap and I wish they'd bring back Dead Like Me.

  • OMG I totally missed this when it came out. Hands down PIGS IN SPACE is my fav.

  • The only sci-fi I ever really watched was The X-Files & Dark Angel, not much selection with basic cable. I currently watch Fringe but that's between seasons.

  • yeah. i agree with you.

Now distorted dogma is asking the question. I guess I must give my fav.

    "Battlestar Galactica"

    that's the one.

  • why does youtube does this?

i had clicked reply beside the comment by user

    sikboy1029

no my comment is on top. is this a temporary display ?

  • Haven't you watched FarScape? Its my favorite! Then its StarGate and Star Trek.

  • Every episode. Then they ended up on Stargate SG1. Too many shows... overload... overload...

    Be Well.

  • When I was elementary school I used to get up an hour early to watch Star Trek episodes my mom had taped overnight.

  • Wow that was cool. I suppose everything now is TeVo... We didn't have a video tape machine until I had moved out.

    Be Well.

  • he lives!

  • New building finally open. I get a few minutes to rub together to try and ignite some creativity.

    Be Well.

  • Doctor Who. I'm really excited to see who the new Doctor is.

  • The introduction video to the new doctor is here on YouTube. He takes over in 2010.

    Be Well.

  • lets see, my favorite sci-fi show until it ended was stargate SC1. And The Twilight zone is great fun of course :D. ( Mom and dad use to watch the reruns with us. )

  • Dr. Who is in between seasons... I got nothin' right now either.

    Thanks for watching.

    Be Well.

  • When I was a little kid, Star Trek was my favorite SciFi TV show. When I was a teenager, it was Quantum Leap. Stargate SG1 in my 20's. My most recent favorite was Battlestar Galactica. I didn't even start watching it, until its final season. I barrowed a friend's DVD collection of the first 3 seasons. I think too many people did the same thing, didn't start watching it until it was too late. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I have yet to find a new SciFi show that I like. *sigh*

  • Hi kiddo, how ya doin'?

I thought the new Battlestar was a little too soap opera in space for me. Having grown up on the original, there were lots of character changes to get over, and my heart wasn't in it. After the first season, I was kaput.

    Be Well.

  • Twilight Zone is my FAVORITE!!!

  • Dig it.

    Be Well.

  • Star Trek The Next Generation came out when I was almost 4 years old... and I never looked back... =)

  • FOUR? What was there to look back at?

Next Generation was very cool. My best friend and I used to watch and call on the phone afterwards and compare notes.

I was 33 at the time.

    Be Well.

  • the original star trec

  • Always a good choice, Monsieur. Would you care for a side order of Crepe de INVADERS, or if you prefer za special tonight, za Hulk green salad?

    Be Well.

  • If I had to choose one favorite over time it would be The Outer Limits tho I usually like the show that is 'on now' best LOL

The only thing I did not like about the video was that through the years in magazines, fanzines and forums the term 'Sci-Fi' is generally not used by long time fans most of which prefer 'Science Fiction' or 'Speculative Fiction'. In the late 1970's the magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction made a good case for using 'STF' seems their readers coined the term in the 1950

  • But only a STF aficionado would have known what I was talking about. Besides STF always sounded like a STD to me.

The original Outer Limits was killer. The one with the plants from space that shot popcorn out of the bottom terrorized my dreams as a kid for days.

    Be Well.

  • Ooh, I have a LOT of favorites. Outer Limits and Taken TOP the list. Then there's Firefly/Serenity and Twilight Zone(Which I watch on sci-fi channel marathons, because I'm too young to have seen it when it first started. Doctor Who is HIIIIGH on my list of faves, because he is SO awesome. Can't forget Farscape and Lexx. That's all I can think of. I'm NOT a Trekkie.

  • They just announced the new Doctor who will take over in 2010. It's here on YouTube.

    Be Well.

  • hello funny video :)

my favourite sci-fi tv series would have to either be stargate or star trek (haha).

im 17 so ive missed twilight zone and the older version of hulk and quantom leap unfortunatly :)unless i flick over to the sci fi channel every now and then hehe.

    have a good new year!

  • 17? You have a lifetime of Sci-fi ahead of you, and probably some good stuff on TV too.

    Be Well.

  • Very nice! I don't have a favorite sci-fi show/movie, but I have seen Star Trek Voyager, Firefly/Serenity, Andromeda, Mutant X, Lost in Space, and Xena.

  • I was shocked and amazed that Andromeda lasted past the first season. I thought that show was a total waste of time but kept checking back because of the fantastic eye candy for 14 year old boys. Having girls in low cut tops holding ray guns really increases your chances of success in Canadian sci-fi, apparently...

  • I remember Andromeda. I didn't think it was bad, but it seemed to always be trying to end. My wife had a Xena outfit for Halloween one year, I made her keep it...

    Be Well.

  • my favorite sci fi TV show has to be 7 Days, it appeared from like 1998 to 2001, and was a very cool show :D

  • That's a long 7 days. I don't think I ever caught it.

    Thanks for watching.

    Be Well.

  • Quantum Leap was an awesome show...Sliders was pretty decent too, not as good, but entertaining. I need to get QL on DVD. Good Vid, glad to see ya back :)

  • Sam and Al created a fervor when, a few years ago, a rumor spread that they were going to bring the series back. People were going nuts. But so far it is not to be.

    Be Well.

  • Can I hitch a ride with The Dr? purty plz!!!

  • I wish I could arrange that.

Talk about a YouTube Gathering.... woah.

    Be Well.

  • Long time no see!

Lost in Space was my favorite.

    PS

    Get a haircut.

  • It's longer in real life now, than it is in the toons.

    Nice to see you too.

    Be Well.

  • oh Dr Who is so AWESOME

  • I concur.

    Be Well.

  • Gots to be Babylon 5. There are spinoffs, of course. The #2 would have to be Firefly, since the Firefly universe had a lot of promise to it that Joss Whedon never got to explore. He did tie it (almost) all together in Serenity, though. That film is the prototype for any SF film to be made ever again.

  • Firefly/Serenity is a great show, but they move it around here a lot and it's hard to keep track of.

    Be Well.

  • I bought the Firefly DVD series when a local department store had it on sale for $18US. I got a copy of Serenity for $10US. What a thief I am!

By comparison, a buddy of mine bought the first three seasons of B5 as soon as they showed up on DVD sets for about $80 apiece. I was surprised his wife let him do that until I realized that this whole domestic tranquility thing works both ways. She knew he'd be unhappy and moping around the place until he had those DVD box sets in his possession. Heh.

  • Fire fly was a funny mix of something. I could never figure out what exactly. Doesn't mean I didn't like it, or watch it. But like Andromeda it seemed to always be almost ending.

    Be Well.

  • Remember when special effects were as simple as what people on youtube do? ;-)

  • They were only that simple looking, technically they were very hard with the technology they had.

Hope you're keeping warm up there.

    Be Well.

  • For horror, we had Dr.Shock on WPHL 17, a UHF channel. We also had Dark Shadows TWICE. When I was in grade school (kindergarten) and then again in reruns many years later. I also remember most of the others including the Irwin Allen multitude of series. Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, Lost In Space, etc and the Rod Serling stuff. I discovered Dr. Who on PBS during the Tom Baker years. Great stuff. Let's not forget Star Trek and all the spin-offs that came LONG after it tanked. lol

  • That is when I discovered Dr Who...the Tom Baker years. I still have my collection of ridiculously long scarves (Yeah, I had it bad) that friends of my Mother's knitted for me. The older stuff was discovered later.

Lost in Space (or Monster of the week) was twice as funny because you could see the same monsters on "Voyage to the bottom of the Sea" a week or two later. Well except for the carrot guy.

    Be Well.

  • Ah yes, forgot "Voyage" AND the carrot guy on LIS. LOL "MOISTURE!" MOISTURE!!" i LOVED that show. I wanted to be a Robinson SO BAD! And the "alien" character actors who got their start on that series! omg. what a list.

  • All my wife ever wanted was the jet pack.

    Be Well.

  • Hmmm, you listed most of my favorites. I was at the wrong age for Dark Shadows - my little sisters were into it though. I guess the thing that stuck with me over the years the most were the various iterations of Star Trek. I still catch it on the SciFi channel now and then.

  • I think Star Trek paved the way for a lot of "cross-over" Sci-fi and helped bring the gender back to TV. There have been a lot of great shows that just tickled the edge of Sci-fi that I really liked. "Early Edition" was a good one. It didn't last long, but was a fascinating concept. A guy get tomorrows newspaper today and tries to head off some of the stories.

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Be Well.

  • Yeah, time travel is my favorite thing. There have been several and I loved them all. Just recently there was one about a cop going back to the sixties. Loved it. I also like the Pie Man bringing people back from the dead. Do you see a trend? I like the stuff that fails!

  • You like the stuff that fails.....

In that case, thanks for the "friend" invitation.

Life on Mars- the cop show- was it the US version or the original BBC version?

    Be Well.

  • LOL! Oops! :) Yeah, it was the US version. But I do love Dr. Who and that's a long term success, so maybe not all failures.....

  • They won't feel so bad when they find you are a fan of Melville (Moby Dick - Picard's favorite quotes).

    Roddenberry would be proud.

    Be Well.

  • X Files was the scariest thing I ever saw when i was a kid. I loved it! Too bad they stop showing it shortly after I discovered it :/

  • Grocery stores do that with my favorite foods. Once I discover it, they stop carrying it.

X-Files is out there on cable if you look. But silentmiah (a few comments back) said it right, there doesn't seem to be the excitement when you can catch it whenever.

    Be Well.

  • X-Files!

That had scifi elements at least... lol.

  • It was on at a time when I was working shows every week-end and I never got so see it. By the time I could, most of the plots had been spoiled for me by friends who watched it incessantly.

    Be Well.

  • o it had to be quantum leap for me. there was a summer back when i was in high school where i watch nothing but quantum leap. it was on at 3 in the morning to 5 in the morning so i would stay up all night and sleep all day. o man those were the days. now every things on dvd, some how it seems to have lost its eventfulness when you can watch it when ever.

  • Another series I liked well enough to fork over the money to buy on DVD.

    Thanks for watching.

    Be Well.

  • nice to see you back

  • Are you asking me to leave? Or do you just not like my front as well as my back?

You know there was a time when ASCII was the only graphics that would transmit over a 2400 baud modem. (Geez, I'm old)

    Nice to watch you too.

    Be Well.

  • Hey you're back! Ok as a kid I liked Lost in Space and the original Spiderman cartoon. Now I'd say Donnie Darko is one of my favorites.

  • I bought the first season of Lost In Space on DVD so my youngest could watch it. He's hooked.

    Be Well.

  • I couldn't wait to watch DARK SHADOWS as a kid, but there have many more great sci-fi flicks since.

  • There is lots of the Dark Shadow stuff on YouTube. It seemed scarier when I was a kid.

    Be Well.

  • only 25 here and I saw a few. The one that stands out the most is Stargate SG-1.

  • That's two for SG-1, but I'm not going to keep score.

My wife did a show at a hotel that overlooks "the mountain." The whole time she was there she tried to get a tour of NORAD to see the "Stargate." She says everyone just rolled their eyes at her when she brought it up.

    Be Well.

  • Haha, that one is very funny and some kind of an inside joke. I think the others weren't into sci-fi :D

  • I don't think they were into tourists asking to see the Stargate. The joke had grown stale.

    Be Well.

  • i have not been around but 12 years i dont waich scifi that much but i like suspence movies and fcifi has them! be well

  • You have lots of time. Pick what you like and leave the rest, but you have to try everything once.

    Be Well.

  • Great animation Dog. The Twilight Zone was

my fave. in the '50's and '60's.

  • Rod Serling was way ahead of his time.

    8smooches*

  • great animations dd. Be Welsh :)

  • Thanks, Naphan.

    Be Well.

  • Great list... have you seen Sliders?

  • I remember sliders. Good concept, great cast.

    Be Well

  • Star Trek

the original and next generation and voyager

not deep space 9 or enterprise

  • Critics and viewers all panned Enterprise, but I thought it was a cool cast. The setting in the past made it kinda hard to discover new stuff that never got mentioned in the other shows. Very confining.

    Be Well.

  • Stargate SG-1

  • Seen 'em all and the movie. Not so crazy about the spin off.

    Be Well.

  • Babylon-5

  • Completely forgot about B5. I had a hard time following it because they moved the time slot out here a lot.

    Be Well.

  • Deffenetly Star Trek

  • The only Sci-fi served in flavors.

    Be Well

  • If you haven't seen the trailer for the new movie, go watch it. It's amazing.

Zachery Quinto (Sylar from Heroes) is playing Spock and he looks brilliant. Simply brilliant. And Simon Pegg is Scotty. Hilarious.

  • Right now the new BSG is the best Sci-Fi on TV. IMHO. I always liked the Doctor for hokey fun though :)

  • I never made it past the first season. Of course my schedule makes it tough too.

    Thanks for watching.

    Be Well

  • Everyone raves and raves about BSG, but I just can't get into it. I like most other Sci-Fi series I've seen... it's just that one.

Isn't the entire show an allegory for Mormanism?

  • Damn, you're old. Yes, that's what I took away from this.

Er, The Twilight Zone??? That was a good one I suppose??? Eh.

  • I'm 23 and I've seen almost every one of those... probably even more.

  • The list is nearly endless. Well it would take more than I ever cared to list, anyway.

    Be Well.

  • I keep saying that but no one believes me. My next birthday brings me discounts at thousands of fine dining establishments across the country.

    TZ is a classic.

    Be Well

  • I feel for your wife then (I'm assuming you have one... I forget if you do). When my dad turned the big 50, they mailed him AND my mother their AARP cards... she was only 47 at the time. She was not happy.
