ermm i have a A8V-VM SE with a 8600gt 256mb i want to upgrade to a 9600gt or a 9500gt but those use pci e 2.0 and the mobo i have is said to have problems with 2.0 backwards compatibility can anyone help me?
I still use this mobo as my main w/ a 4200+ and a ATIHD2900
Crysis Bench:
Play Time: 62.91s, Average FPS: 31.79 Min FPS: 17.61 at frame 1943, Max FPS: 46.15 at frame 69 Average Tri/Sec: 29224694, Tri/Frame: 919196 Recorded/Played Tris ratio: 1.00
fuck sakes, I spent $800 on a FX-57, like 4 years ago, now 939 has been discontinued, and I just bought a GTX 260, and I want to put my FX-57 to good use, so I'm looking for a 939 mobo right now, and I don't know what is the best one to get, I figured if I'm going with 939, being they are a bit outdated and discontinued, I should be able to get a pretty good deal, even on a nice 939 mobo
yeah, I paid $800 for my CPU, and $800 for my video card
CPU - FX-57 (Which I'm still using)
GPU - BFG Geforce 7900 GTX 512 (Which I'm not using anymore)
upgraded my GPU to a GTX 260 Superclocked, and my PC is running pretty good, but is slow in games like Far Cry 2, so I do need to upgrade to Quad core, and better memory.
you would be surprised, that thing runs like a monster! yeah it's mainly for everything you described..... oh and once i get her a decent video card to stream blue ray to her hdtv...
she should be set! then once i upgrade to a core 2 quad or i7 she could have my e8500
that's one thing I gotta get sometime is a Blu-Ray reader/writer....
I'll probably get it when I do my next build. Wouldn't mind building my own projector too, and projecting onto a 100 inch screen "-) That would be nice. lol
depends, if you wanted to build a 1080p projector it would cost more of course, but still way cheaper than brand name, and you can take pride in it, cuz you built it :-)
they have a chat room built into that site, that runs like 24/7, you could ask some ppl some questions
Its still good, but its pretty much dead now, only goes up to a 4800+ and you can only get the higher end ones like the 4800 on ebay...for not good prices.
Logan you should watch your video you say "and that sorta thing" and smack between features soooooo many times its entertaining. Not saying keep doing it but watch yoru videos and catch it its hillarious hahahahahahaha.
"theres more in the internet yet to be read" lol @ randy.

yes but at what resolution.
what O/S like in DX9 or DX10
and what Crysis settings etc.
With my 2600XT I get 35FPS average mix of medium and high @ 1280x1024
(not this mobo, intel based)

Res: 1920x1200 (24" LCD)
OS: XP x64 Edition (so DX9)
Card: HD2900 Pro (OC'd )
Detail: Med and Hi as well
DX10 benches are slightly lower if I boot into Vista. Still playable.

atleast you can take that video card with you when you upgrade to a better mobo and cpu
histatimaniples 2 years ago
yeah that's true :-) not a complete loss then.
1981z28camaro 2 years ago
that's what i'll be doing when i ever jump to i7 but i'm going to pick me up a 939 mobo just to put another build together
histatimaniples 2 years ago
oh yeah cool, sounds good although I don't think I would do a 939 setup, maybe a $800 dual core build.
1981z28camaro 2 years ago
i just built a dual core for my girlfriend for a $100 with a custom hello kitty case lol
i want to see how much i could get away with building a decent 939 for less then a 40 bucks i have a amd sempron somewhere in my junk pile "room"
mobo $10 $ddr1-2gb i should be able to do it
histatimaniples 2 years ago
lol, crazy, just $40?? haha, Hello Kitty, that's funny..
I imagine you can't do much with that PC you built her....but hey, if she only uses it for like the net, music, and movies, that's pretty good then.

histatimaniples 2 years ago

1981z28camaro 2 years ago
