some people do say alot of bad stuff about lee press, i think their just bunch of idiots.havin a hard time figuring out what theire doin. lee press are made to work, they just cant admit that the price r much more less that other press and it WORKS JUST FINE!!!!
I am totally new to reloading, I am looking into the Lee Classic Turret kit, and maybe a decent scale, and some misc. tools... I'd also get a turret for each of the 3-4 calibers I'd be loading... and eventually a powder measure for each setup ...
Is this a good route for a new reloader? I need to know what all is needed other than the kit, a manual, and dies... thanks
The scale in question is a cheap scale of course but with any scale no matter the type is only as dangerous as it's master. I check my scales with other scales that I have and I use this scale for setup on volume measurers which are not as accurate as any scale but are safe when used safely. And I have used it to reload single charges. To save yout face start with min. loads and work your way up. It's not rocket science it's horse sense. I have reloaded for 20 yrs. with o mishaps.
the scale is NOT as accurate as a beam scale, unless you spend bucks, your better off with a beam scale. I like my face to much to just trust any ole scale with powder charges!
i use the classic turret press as a single stage reloading .308 ammo for my bolt action rifles.i prime using it too.my bench isnt crowded with items.i trim using the lee zip trim.my dies are lee deluxe rifle die set for less than $50.00.and i can get 1/4 moa groups in my reloads!cheap can be hip!!
Hi, Great video here ! I am trying to decide between the Lee anniversary set or the Dillon square deal . The anniversary set is on ebay for $98.00 with free shipping. It has no dies included . The Dillon is around $365.00 . Everyone I talked to said to stay away from Lee products. I want something that will last. Have you tried the anniversary st before ? Just don't want to waste my money, Im doing .38 and 9 mm plus some 30.06 and 30 .30 thanks for your time. Be Blessed !
@carvinrigged I've got the Anniversary press kit. It's great. You can get down to 1/4" accuracy, at 100 yds, with this press, if you do your other prep right. So, there is nothing wrong with the press. However, the bigger cast iron presses are more impressive, so if that's important to you, get one of those.
As far as pistol ammo goes, a single stage press will be too slow for you eventually if you shoot quite a bit. The press in the anniversary is fine for pistol, but it's single stage.
Thanks for a great video. I checked out what you said about reloading isnt that expensive if you know what to get. I just bought a Lee 50th anniversary kit and didn't set me back an arm and a leg. Thanks for the great advise.

single stage = good for high caliber rounds, like ,50 BMG. "progressive" = good for pistol and such...

I have the same three presses you do. I love all three, and that load master is super fast.

before i got into reloading i looked into many brands and just could not justify the rediculous prices of some
i tried lee and ended up with almost 95 % lee equipement for a fraction of the other brands cant say anything bad all good and innovative in many ways
save your money for componets powder etc etc dont go pay 3 times the price for no reason remember why your getting into reloading good day
