The Chopin Nocturne 9/2 played at the Barbican in June 2006 was an encore especially for me "Just for you" as he put it stepping away from the piano and bowing to me - the female in his life at the time! Perhaps this maiden's wish was slightly more then!! Lovely thought on his part and lovely playing too.
sounds like it was played at a tuberculosis sanitorium with all the hacking and wheezing going on - why would those people show up for a concert? rude
He played Chopin, Nocturne op.9/2, and Chopin/Liszt, "The Maiden's Wish". The nocturne was extraordinary (and was cut from the Radio broadcast of the concert in June 2006). I've got a cassette of the Kreisleriana, which sounds like it's down a well, but you can still tell it's the most original interpretation of it you're likely to hear - the last fantasia in particular.
I was at this concert; a woman in front of me had a very bad asthma attack, which you can vaguely hear (it was a very hot night). Thanks for posting - have you got the Kreisleriana from the second half, or the encores?
COUGHAHA... Cough!! ...bleh, hourgh...
Get your disgusting self out of a concert hall if you're ill and can't be silent. Have some respect.

The 'Maiden's Wish' is, of course, Nocturne No.20 op post.

I've just submitted the last 2 numbers of Kreisleriana. You're right about the last fantasia, the first time I heard it I stood amazed.

Yes, I've got the Kreisleriana, unfortunately I haven't got any encores. What did he play?
