If you portray things the way they really are it is thought of as satire! LOL! That is George Carlin and Bill Hicks all the way. Amazing that Stan wanted to be an actor like Carlin.
Stan Lee is a living legend... He is the greatest comic book writer of all time. Spiderman, DareDevil, Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, The Hulk, and so many more...
The greatest characters of all time. Spiderman > Batman. The Hulk > Superman. Marvel > DC.
But he really wanted to be a great novelist... that is why is such a great comic book writer... great training and foundation. He fell into comics... which was our blessing!
First, Stan was never an artist. Second, he was the co-creator of Spider-Man and many of the great Marvel characters, not the artist and sole creator.
It's amazing how much of what he said about Marvel in this interview carries over to the generation of today. Stan Lee's mind at that point was really ahead of his time.
Yes, and should never retire, we need more writers like him. Stan is the MAN!! I miss his early Spider-Man stories. I think I have almost all the collection...

If Woody Allen were a superhero he would be Spiderman! That was my impression, too! Stan was actually spoofing the genre by making it "real".
brianpadraic 2 years ago
Hahaha I know man, that is like so true! I love Marvel, it just gives you so many dynamite stories and it actually has a lot of realism to them.
For instance, the punisher, he's possible. Spiderman? Ahhh, maybe... the spider concept is logical to an extent, very interesting.
Captain America is another who is possible. Basically, the down to earth characters is who I like the most.
But the Hulk is still awesome though, even though that's pure fiction. Same with Venom.

to Maverickslb80:
Do you mean Barry (a.k.a "O-Bearded One")?
Well, he's old enought to be their father (54 years old here with all the gray and white in his hair).
Anyway, he kicks arse and he's one of the type of writers whou would not, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, retire!
