Wrestlers have been called Superstars before the PG era.

The term Superstars and Wrestling goes back past the 90s. Since most of them were actually recognizable stars that were wrestlers like Hogan, Andre, The Giant, Flair, etc.

It's nothing new and mostly a tradition.
