  • I LOVED this episode! Frasier cracks me up all the time and I love Daphne and Niles together <3

  • "Y'know she got a belly ring last week."

    "...... That's fantastic."

    Haha

  • Niles- 'I'm still mad at you...' :) lol

  • Daphne is so adorable with that little bob cut - she almost looks like a little china doll.

  • (in my giddy voice) PPL ITS JUST A SHOW DONN'T TAKE IT SO SERIOUSLEY!!!!!!!

  • Frasier makes me happy... & smart!

  • Niles is so SWEET! If Daphne wasnt perfect for him i would love to date him!

  • What a sweet touching end. I got a lump in my throat.

  • Love the last scene with Niles and Daphne!!! #shed a tear... their so good together.

  • This show was well written

  • Kelsey's delivery of "...that's fantastic." at 1:32 is so brilliant.

I didn't think it possible to deliver a line containing a mixture of sexual frustration, elation, anger and depression all at once, in two words no less!

  • David Hyde-White is a fabulous actor.......!

  • Couldn't believe Eddy ate the lizard!! lol

  • This is the only time I heard Niles' voice this low.

  • when niles says "i'm still mad at you" it makes me smile every time

  • The only time Niles actually acts like a man is when he is mad.

  • @ omkaden - Call me crazy but I actually love Daphne's hair in these episodes. I think it looks really classy. I dunno if you're a guy or not but I know guys tend to like longer hair, and I'm female so maybe that makes a difference? I dunno, lol. And maybe I'm projecting because I wish my hair would do that. I just think it looks really nice on her, but whatever she does, she always looks great!

  • Such a great episode! I do hate Daphne's hair like this, though. Why'd they make her so homely after she and Niles finally got together? Is that what they think happens to women after we get married?

  • I dont think Daphne understands the ramifications of what she has done.

  • @Be1smaht I think she may have hand an idea... that's why she was so honest, and that's probably why she cried.

  • "What are you... talking about?" LOL

  • I think this is the only time I have ever seen Niles angry and serious...I love it!

  • "The most dangerous part of a gecko... Is his miiiind."

  • chubby bunny

  • Niles, you'd better not be lying

  • don't know who is more dumb joey from friends of daphne from frasier

  • @thacongress joey

  • lmao at the ending..

  • lmao at the ending..

  • @trwesty02 not really

  • Poor Gecko ; . ;

  • Lmao, Eddie ate the Gheko :)

  • RELEASE THE GECKO!!! LOL

  • between 3:15`6:20 DAMN niles is sooo HOT!!!

  • Oh God, Niles is sexy when he's angry! When he slammed the door and then spun around to face Daphne... *fans self*

  • Shouldn't there be holes in the shoebox so that the gecko doesn't asphyxiate?

  • Love this scene - very powerful. Daphne and Niles come face to face with her own feelings of doubt and inadequacy. He understands her doubt, even though he's angry with her, and still seeks to reassure her. When she points out the fact that she was "somebody else" and her fear is that somehow, someday there will be another "somebody else" that will take her place. She was scared to lose him. Niles was so serious and gentle in this scene - LOVE HIM!

  • I thought that people are supposed to criticize and analyze all shows and books that we watch or read. Otherwise, why would we watch or not watch a series or read certain books. When characters have depth, they are worth criticizing.

  • 'The most dangerous part of a gecko is its mind'...lmao

  • It's a show people. A SHOW. Stop criticizing and analyzing each episode and character. If you don't like it. STOP WATCHING IT . . . . .

  • @MrMallman Would you say that about a book? A work of art? A movie even? I love Frasier. I love to analyze and criticize things that I enjoy. It gives them meaning and depth.

  • I feel so sorry for Daphne. She went a bit too far, but it is perfectly understandable. I can see why Niles is so angry, but if the roles were reversed, he would have done the same thing...and challenged the guy to a fencing match. lol. Sound familiar?

  • @Milfuelle100 Niles has done worse than Daphne did. Remember he ruined Joe's first chances of trying to date Daphne because he was obsessed with her even though he was married to Maris. He destroyed his marriage to 2 women (Maris and Mel) and Daphne's relationship with her fianace just with his obesssion. There are other things. He's just flipping out because his male ego somehow says his job is more important. But he has destroyed more relationships and hurt more people than anyone else.

  • @whateverman181 that was all in the past and daphne left her fianace at the altar because she was in love with niles which i think she always was ! I understand why she was so scared but this could have cost niles his job . Anywho Love them both :)

  • His job? Who freaking cares! His job is not more important than her heart or feelings? Can't believe you said that. So work and money are more important than your soul and humanity?? Only a selfish person thinks that. Typical western mentality.

  • @whateverman181 It's not just income or a pastime to him. It's his passion. He wanted to be a psychiatrist since he was a child. If he loses his license his rep will be tarnished and he may never be trusted to counsel anyone in that capacity again. Would you tell your secrets to a person who could not keep them safe?

Freud said that man has two basic needs: work and love.

Daphne is one and Psychiatry is the other.

  • @YepThatWhatiSaid For the record, if Niles snapped at me like he did to her I would have told him to go to hell. Sorry but I have never liked his character. He is a weak, snobby eltist who treated everyone around him (except his inner circle) like his servant. I noticed that neither Fraiser or Martin were ever like that to others. I think Niles character is funny but that's about where it ends. He was a joke of a person to me. In real life he could only get a woman with money and a fancy car.

  • @whateverman181 Well we can just agree to disagee because it i met a niles my age i would date him and it would have nothing to do with his money and fancy car ! And they had a fight which he was mad for what really about 5mins all couples fight and what she did was wrong and she knows it im not like hating on her i love them both and we all make mistakes . Have a good day :)

  • @whateverman181 The fact that Daphne didn't respect doctor-patient confidentiality is insanely irresponsible of her. I can understand her insecurity when it comes to Niles and the fact that a woman might be interested in him, but that is something that you just do NOT do. Niles was completely justified in snapping at her. Further, it indicates a grave lack of trust which Daphne has in him, which is a terrible thing to discover.

  • @DontcallmeFrenchy Chill dude. It's a TV show!

  • @DontcallmeFrenc The character Niles has to think of his family first and make it easier for her. When you deal with a person that cares about you sometimes they do get insecure and being in a relationship you have to see their point of view too. I always tell people in 90% of all cases if your mate doesn't get a little insecure with someone you work with having a crush on you then you might need to start worrying because either they have lost interests in you or they are cheating. Human nature

  • @whateverman181 haha You really getting upset about this character on a TV show aren't you? haha Well let me throw some reality into your world. There are women that are just as elitist as Niles character and they look down on women and men that are not rich or attractive. I have seen men like Niles who are not rich get very beautiful women, see in the real world that you claim you live in not everyone thinks a like. Certain people like certain things that others have a problem with.

  • @grownman455 First off, the show is a show designed to make people think about the real world and their own lives. It's an intellectual program and it's meant to get people discussing and analyzing character traits. If you have a problem with me doing that then please don't comment to me. Or better yet why don't you go watch Jersey Shore....something where you can turn your brain off.

  • @whateverman181 Oooooo Jersey Shore insult haha. I'm so hurt.. haha A comedy sitcom is meant to get people to discuss and analyze character traits ? Wow who needs books when you have TV right? I have no problem with your angry daddy issues rant you seem to be on. We live in a free country and you can air out all your personal issues on the internet if you choose to. Later haha

  • @grownman455 Are you serious? I'm posting about the show to another poster. I wasn't talking to you and never engaged you in a conversation. You responded to my post and made insulting comments to me. You are clearly the one with the issues. Please see psychological counseling.

  • @whateverman181 Oh wow lol ok .. Well I'm deeply sorry.. Peace and blessing to you

  • Comment removed

  • @whateverman181 Yeah, but Maris and Mel were HORRIBLE to Niles, and not good people at all (especially Maris.) Niles does have a bad obsession with Daphne, but he's the sweetest guy ever and I would totally marry him! Guys like Niles Crane and Alan Harper are hard to find. :)

  • You seem to think that every women thinks like you well they don't. I know some very snobby women that would look down on you right now because you do not have the money they have. People are just different I have seem some of the worse people and the weakest people in the world live better lives than the so call strong and down to earth people. I have seen a skinny weak man walk out with the model. It's a big world full of different people. Get and out see it and get rid of your stereotypes

  • Eddie ate the gecko!!!!!

  • i laughed so hard at frasier ans marty when they were talking about the book store girl. it reminds me of me and my dad lol.

  • "Because this time it's different!"!! God knows i heared this before, and how many times...

  • I love Kelsey's voice when he speaks low. Not whispers, but just LOW. "The dark haired temptress... that works... at the bookstore." It's so soothing.

  • @TaylerBunge Kelsey really does have a wonderful voice- I love to pick him out in animated stuff for that very reason!

  • @sincerelywithlove That's a good point. At first I disagreed since this is a comedy, but it really does show their acting talents! Especially DHP.

  • HEHE. Staying up late with your dad, hunting crickets with a gecko, talking about manly stuff and eating snacks... sounds great! lol

  • "Release the Gekko!"

Imagine if "Wall Street 2" had used that as a catchphrase :D

  • "I'll tell you who makes my list, the dark-haired temptress that works in the bookstore" ... that sounds awfully like the woman Niles tried to set Frasier up with in Three Blind Dates..

  • I love how Niles and Daphne have a serious, honest relationship. It's so healthy.

  • I want my own Niles Crane! He is so sweet

  • @CMaddict07 I know! Every girl needs one for sure.

  • @CMaddict07 And in real life he's gay!! That would explain it!!! Cause I want my own Niles Crane toooooo!!!!!

  • @MrSji4ever

Haha, never noticed that. But small tits rule :D My girlfriends who all have the bigger bust complain about them. I'm so glad I'm smaller. You know what they say about the journey of big tits; the feet are the destination.

  • RELEASE THE KRAKEN.... GECKO!

  • I think this is one of my favorite episodes, season 9 is my favorite season so far.

  • Niles was married to TWO other women while he was prusing Daphnie...

Some Frasier fans cannot accept that...

  • I love how she blames it on Roz.

  • That marshmallow stuffing game is extremely dangerous. Don't try it at home, kids!

  • woo Niles scares me now

  • Niles acts so strong in this scene, David Hyde Pierce is a wonderful actor. Very sexy. Check him out in his new movie "The Perfect Host"

  • how insecure could Daphne be to do that...smh @ her

  • Release the gecko!

  • @pikfissepikpik hahaha, I love the way he puts on the glove after he says that too!

  • Last frame of the ep, beautiful!!!

  • I'd love to know the English word that would best describe Frasier's face at 0:26

  • @NosferatuD Two choices. "Incredulous" is one, but I prefer "hilarious"

  • Does anyone know if a gecko will kill a brown recluse?

  • the most dangerous part of a gheko is its mind...

  • strong S-T-R-O-N-G episode

    everybody shines especially mahoney

maybe not top 10 but certainly top 20 of all 200+ eps

thanks as always for the upload a real fun watch

  • What does Frasier say at 1:00? Ten women to what?

  • @YorLope "we can only take ten women to Love Island"

  • @YorLope looooove island

  • The last gecko scene, where Frasier and Martin both "speculate" that another cricket is in their apartment so they can spend more time together, is so touching and funny.

  • Wow, Niles was really upset!

  • Release the kraken!

  • Release the gecko!

  • LOL @ Frasier and Marty doing chubbie bunnies!

  • I think this is one of the few episodes of Frasier where I like the sub-plot more than the actual plot. Not that Niles and Daphne's relationship isn't interesting, but the great cricket hunt was great. Frasier got some terrific lines in there.

  • @deaddirtycarnie You're right! The sub plot was hilarious! I love how Frasier usually has two plots going on at the same time... even three sometimes.

  • Lmao! Eddie ate the frikkin' ghecko!

  • this is the first time that we really see Niles angry

  • @FatherNoel1992 That isn't true - in season 5, we see Niles extremely angry with Dr. Schenkman, Niles and Maris' couples' therapist.

  • i want my own niles :)

  • It's scenes like this that make me realise that DHP is head and shoulders above the others.

  • @slimes23 cant agree respectfully grammer is numero uno

dhp places and mahoney shows but youve 3 thoroughbreds

w/o a doubt just marvelous acting - a joy to watch

but as good a hyde peirce (sp) is kg is tops

  • its eddie's son i think.

  • That's his son. He retired about 2/3 of the way through the show's run

  • I think the older Eddie died a while after he retired.

  • Is it me or does Eddie look different from the Eddie from earlier episodes?

  • Ha Ha Ha Fraiser and Martin stuffing their faces with marshmellows while the dog ate the gecko , funny stuff.

  • Even if it was justified, it bothered me to see Niles get so mad at Daphne. And I too noticed the extreme cynicism in Frasier's lines in the kitchen - seemed like an entirely different character.

  • The two things Niles cares most about (other than Daphne) are psychiatry and ethics. Given that, I'm surprised he didn't get MORE angry. Doctors (good ones, anyway) have medical ethics drummed into them from day 1. Doctor-patient confidentiality is sacrosanct. Not even courts can force witnesses to break it. If anything, Niles was too trusting of Daphne when he failed to completely secure his patients' files.

  • @wratched Not true in Europe. Only sacrosanct legal bond in most EU countries is Lawyer/client confidentiality. Still important though-could lose your job if told someone other than a court judge/jury. US must be different.

  • I want my own Niles Crane...he's so sweet and cute

  • It doesn't seem at all like a Frasier line when he said "A gecko's brain is like this big". The "like" makes him sound as if he's stoned or a teenager with attitude.

  • Probably the writers trying to get across how he's feeling from lack of sleep ;)

  • DHP is a brilliant actor. His face is so sincere when he is telling daphne that he's always thinking of her.

  • That really was terrible that Daphne did that. A patient/doctor confidentiality is a very serious matter.

  • Oh please, Niles and Frasier have violated patient/doctor confidentiality before in the past.

  • That doesn't make it right.

  • When?

  • Is it me or is Daphne wearing a map? lol

  • Release the ghecko.

  • I love when the word alright is used as it is in 'there's a club alright' Just love this kind of sentences

  • jdlaw001, i agree<3

  • This is one of my favorite eposide at the end.

I liked the first seasons better, but this episode... You gotta luuv it!

  • Eddie ate the gecko!!!!! lol. Sad tho :(

  • 'Release the gecko!'

  • I love how Martin always 1up Frasier...lol

  • @sammybmore74 father knows best

  • exhausted and annoyed frasier makes me giggle. XP

  • XD Looks like the gecko has been taken care of

  • Now all we have to do is get rid of the dog.

  • "The most dangerous part of a gecko is his mind"

    Ahhhahahahaha!

  • Frasier and Martin are doing the "Chubby Bunny Challenge" at the end.

  • I've never seen Niles like that throughout the series! So serious and masculine! I love it! More I say.

  • To further defend Daphne, you have to remember that she hasn't seen everything that we have. We've witnessed Niles' incredible love for her for years but she's only had the year-long relationship and what everyone has told her. I'm not saying that she couldn't have been more trusting but her actions here are still understandable and very human.

And serious Niles is pretty smexy.

  • Hells yes!

  • @nzhine - well said, in particular re: Daphne "her actions here are still understandable and very human."

  • I envisioned Frasier having some drinks before the kitchen scene, the way he reacts at the beginning. Absolutely love this show!!

  • Absolutely brilliant, rarely do you see Niles this mad during the entire show :D Another feather in David Hyde Pierce's cap.

  • what a faboulous 7 minutes!

Frasier and Martin in the kitchen, and then Niles and Daphne.

What a great cast has this show!

And the words that Niles says to Daphne are the most romantic I ever heard:

"Now we're together, and I find myself thinking about you." This is love.

I love Niles and DHP ;)

  • I would have to agree with you there.

  • This is one of the greatest scenes in the entire history of television.

  • I am referring to Frasier and Martin in the kitchen.

  • I love the way Niles reacts after Daphnes 'How can I be sure that there would never be another somebody else?' the way he seeks for the right words really shows some great acting.

  • Yeah, I think Frasier has the best fitting cast of any show I've ever watched. Every actor on this show is amazing and the writers hold so strong to each character's personality.. I can't get enough of Frasier!

  • @cain9104 such an excellent comment one of the most

    insightful 'catches' ever well done

  • I simply love Niles!

  • "The most dangerous part of a gecko is its mind." I think this is one of my fave Frasier/Martin stories!

  • i think Daphney is unbelievably wrong, Niles could lose his practice and be ruined! if i was him i would act exactly as he did!

  • Niles should have recognized that Daphne was feeling insecure and handled it before it ever got to the point that it did.

  • That's true. I think he was a bit naive there.

  • Daphne is so cute <3

  • really amazing to see the serious side to Niles...what a stark change to the pasty skinned uncoordinated man...

  • @stooge10101 I think he has come along way since his other two wives were very imasculating towards him.

  • I loooveeeee Niles : o

  • You can't be wise and in love at the same time!

  • no shez not

  • The look on Frasier's face at 0:25 is PRICELESS!!!!

  • LOL I know. And I love the line, "What are you talking about?" Just the way he says it is so funny.

  • Love makes us all fools

  • I dont think Daphne is a jackass! Niles and Daphne's love story is very complicated not least cos Niles was married to Maris and Mel when he was in love with Daphne. I think that Daphne had every right to make sure Niles will be true to her!

  • @chatterbox8213 But she didn't and you can't. She should have just trusted him.

  • @chatterbox8213 I agree with you! I'm sure if many women found themselves in her kind of situation, they would be tempted to do the same thing.

  • @chatterbox8213 I agree. It's so sad. I understand why Daphne did what she did but Niles should be able to trust Daphne because it's unethical what she did and he could in fact lose his license. She is a physical therapist and she should know about her own ethics too. Especially if you consider Niles could lose EVERYTHING if she did that. I am glad she went with Roz so she could tell her to run.
