These things seem to be designed to suicide. They just used a zener diode for a 'voltage regulator,' so when that fails it will overvolt the system and can even fry the CPU or GPU chips. I'd really suggest using only a 5v power source when working on these, for safety. And wiring up a proper voltage regulator chip on working units. There are also ribbon cables in there that have a habit of the printed traces disintegrating and turning into dust, crippling the machine.
This cocksmoker is banned on Jamma+ for theft, he also owes me a jamma cable which he was supposed to rewire but refuses to send it back to me, thieveing cunt im a taxi driver by trade and i have your fucking details fella, better watch out you fucking thieving maggot.
Hi, I have a Lynx 2 that won't turn on with batteries or using the PSU. If I connect that wire from battery point to headphones can I leave it there as a permanent fix (if it works) and use my PSU as normal? Thanks!
Hi mate, I have an issue with my Lynx Mark 1's LCD screen and have put up a vid as a reply on your 'Lynx power repair' post on the Atari Age forum. Please could you take a look and offer any advice before I blunder in and break something :) Thanks!
great video got 2 of these cheap on ebay about 6 months back and both would not power up will give your methods a try thanks mate first video i have seen about repairing the lynx.
I've got an issue with my Lynx 1 screen, there's a sort of line across the screen vertical about 1/3rds the way across, it's sort of like screen teating, but with light.

@P5ychoFox Yes you can but just be aware that your Lynx will turn on as soon as you apply power!
BTW, if you still can't get it working and decide to sell it I'd be interested -_^

@2009kenji82 Yeah the Lynx doesn't get as much love as it should IMHO. Keep us posted on how you get on with yours!

@LarryBundyJr I'll have to look into these screen problems, seems it's fairly common on these. If it's the LCD though forget it >.<
