  • LOL he DOES sound a bit rough BUT that"s the true original blues sound. A lot of old John Lee Hooker stuff sounds outta whack too.. My first time hearin him and I love it.

  • MAN! WHAT A GOOD BLUES PLAYER=) so much feeling...its a shame that like NOBODY besides like 10-20 people (including me) would enjoy this....blues is the base for all modern music, but almost nobody knows.

  • *****

What kind of guitar is that?

  • its a new silvertone.

  • Thank you

  • honeyboy edwards, last of the mohicans!! btw nice girl in the backgound

  • this is good stuff.. it's not his classic blues, cos' he uses some different tones... but everything is better than todays white wanna-be blues players...

it's not out of tune, he's obviously playing intentionally these notes, and it's all still good old blues..

  • It's bullshit to say that this guy 'rocks'. He's either outta tune, or fretting poorly. Sorry but it's the damn truth. He's old, and he's a legend, but I agree with the guy who said a 15 year old would be slammed for playing like this here. I'm glad folks have been so kind, he certainly deserves respect, but someone ought to have tuned his Silvertone for him at the very least. He does look healthier than Keith Richards, no bullshit!

  • Saw Honeyboy at the Juke Joint Festival '09. His vocals and playing were stronger than ever! Wish there was video of that here. It was AMAZING!

  • I saw Honeyboy Edwards live in Columbus, Ohio are 5 years ago I think. he signed my cd I bought from him, he is still jammin

  • Last living link to Robert Johnson.

Voice is a bit weak these days though.

  • This Is AWESOME.!

    :D

  • His voive has actual improve with age ,, hes is good , we are lucky he has survive to give us this great musssic

  • Best thing that ever came out of the U-s of A ?? It was the blues

  • Anybody have any info on that cool-ass guitar?

  • it looks like Paul Stanley's signature guitar from Silvertone

  • Living legend! Grew up with sitting in front of guys playing like this - brings back serious memories!

  • thats when you know your bad ass when they had you a gutair thats out of tune and you make the song kick ass

  • blues ain´t about the technical abilities, but about the soul

  • Give them hel Honey Boy ,

  • I heard him interviewed on a local radio station this last Saturday. He's now 93 and has a sharp mind, can still play guitar (better than in this clip), harmonica, and of course sing. Something for us all to look forward to. Hang in there, Honeyboy!

  • not bad for 90odd.

Interesting choice of tone though! :S

  • doesnt look like a very bluesy guitar either, intersting choice

    but I like it

    anyone know what it is?

  • really the guitar work in this leaves something to be desired, great voice though

  • Ok, lets hear how you sound on guitar when your over 90 years old if youre not already dead by then.

  • damn dis is awsome! i got goose bumps when i heard this! its a lil of the music but its more of the spirit that comes from it! anyone that loves blues to the extream will have this feeling the way im having! gives me the felling of the old days

  • Funny isn't it, if this was a 15 year old guy playing this the comments would be really harsh, like..tune your guitar man, get some lessons, and probably a "You Suck at guitar". Bizzare.

  • Anyone who really knows the blues, knows your guitar aint gotta be in tune. Lots of these old blues tycoons through the ages sound out of tune. And this man dosent suck at guitar thats for sure

  • Right on!

  • What a big sound, and his fingers are hardly moving.

  • Saw Honeyboy last week on his UK tour. 93 years old and the cat still rocks. The guy IS the blues.

  • What a privelage to have him at your school! The best we got was a visit from lice

  • Genius

  • Oh no! Sounds untuned!

  • You twat!

  • Sorry. The "twat" comment was for the jerk who said this is " so untuned".

  • this song is too damn easy to play for this guy!

  • this is good

  • Cool video, we never had anyone cool like Honeyboy come to our school.

  • i got the chance to see him play in NY this past weekend, it was amazing. He's one of the last living original delta bluesmen. given my generation, I'm lucky to have seen him, he may not be with us much longer.

  • people should really read as well as listen to the music,of delta blues players like honeyboy.he is really a walking piece of music history.he seems to have played with every MAJOR blues name in history.he was even with robert johnson the night he died/killled.this guy is so important to the history of the delta blues.also if u listen to some of his playing you hear R.johnson licks.just remember this guy new them all and played with them.this man excites me like findin life on anotha planet! WOW

  • Going to see him at the 100 club in London in a few weeks. Seen Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy and Seasick Steve not many of these guys left.

  • Im Glad at least some people are paying these people some well deserved respect. im only 19 and tried so many styles but when i played blues i felt at home but when i played blues, i payed endless respect to artists like Mr. Honeyboy Edwards

i just honestly hate it when i see some "kids" at places like guitar center thinkin they can play better than these ledgends. that just Really pisses me off

but to those who like this music, lets all help keep the blues alive through the generations.

  • amen brother

  • I met him last year and got to talk to him for a few minutes. He is a really nice person. A true master of the Delta Blues. People that act like they got it all mastered have missed the point. These guy like this are real pieces of living history.

  • The real deal!

  • I gots to agree with tanker, this man is legendary and is in his 90's, he used to be a hustler and gambler and hes gone through some blues, look up on him. anyhow, hes definetely a good blues artist

  • What the fuck do u know about the blues, this man is 93 years old and has forgotten more about the blues then u will ever know. I almost forgot to mention he is a fuckin blues legend and one of the few good blues artists left

  • Man.......... You should bloody shut up and listen to SHIT to see the difference !

  • I try not to be rude to people but the plain fact is you dont know shit so what you sat means nothing

  • nod good guitar player, but his soul seems to go out of his singin'.

  • Long Live The BLUES!!!!

  • the bluesss...

  • god i want that guitar. . . i want that sound. . . its too bad some of these guys won't be around for much longer. thats too much stuff that many of us may never experience.

  • he

    is

    GREAT.

  • I Remember going to this and it was amazing! im now a freshman at Paschal HS

  • i remember all the band kids got to go see it and since im not in band, i couldn't go!!!!!

  • You either got or you dont. This man has that feeling!!

  • honeyboy the last ofthe great delta bluesman he will be 92 june 28

  • what guitar is he using?

  • B.C. Rich guitar. Pretty cool huh?!

  • I'm sure everybody and their dog has told you it's a newer Silvertone, Not a Rich. He's doubtless played many Silvertones through the years. Why stop now?

  • WOW! Another video jewel of a great blues player!!!

That's a pa monitor in front of him.

  • unfortunately Robert Lockwood Jr. just passed away right before thanksgiving, complications from a stroke, i went to his wake.
