  • I was there - Crazy fffing show, dangerous too. 5 rows and 5 isles of seats in upper deck lite completely on fire during "smoke on the water", toilet paper streamers being thrown - on fire, between set changes it took an hour and there were massive fights happening on the floor. (man in the middle), a car lite on fire outside, people throwing full bottles of beer.... It was ffffing sick. To bad, my parents had to come pick me up cause I was only 16....can't imagine what they must of thought

  • Rock on!!

  • can you guys believe Steve is 63 and still touring? He is so committed he went out on stage with a black eye...I hope he is okay for he is really having a great time and mentally it is good for him to sing and stay clean on his program which I feel is wonderful for him since he could have OD'd and died in the 70's,.he is very lucky to be alive period..

  • I WAS THERE!!! Still have my ticket stub!! great F'en show!

  • born to late -___-

  • I was also at this concert! I was an early supporter of Guns n Roses, an admirer of Deep Purple and an avid fan of Aerosmith. All three bands were great that night but I have to give it to Deep Purple... they stole the show with their near perfect set and Ian's spectacular vocals. Wow.

    Anyway thanks for posting this!

  • @sonickickass a quarter of those people went just to see GNR. its a true fact. i guess its the 'student becomes the master' situation :D

  • Roger Glover(Deep Purple): "They seem to be doing it all wrong right from the start"

    Maybe he was right!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man..those where the days :)

  • I was there that day. It was awesome. G N R filmed the Padrise City video. And when Deep Purple played smoke on the water the fans tryed to light the stadium on fire.

  • 0:29 now they are a legend!

  • there should be a reason if chinese democracy has sold like that few, and the reason is that this album sucks! this ain't a GN'R album... it's such an axl's project album. Guns N' Roses died long time ago

  • yeaaahh man finally some good opinion!!! GnR died 1996!!!! Fuck new album!! That's not GnR style and it's crap!!!

  • someone can tell me what say aerosmith and deep purple about guns, in spanish please?

  • @sebaXcore06 fuck you this is america, learn english.

  • @metallikuh520 ,esto es america???

tu pais habla un idioma que viene de inglaterra no es propio, anda a chuparsela a bush conchetumadre

  • Every time I see one of these old clips with GN'R, I just think about what could have been with that band. They were the real deal, still the best American rock band of the last 25 years--original lineup, of course.

  • Newsflash, GN'R, Chinese Democracy is the best album GN'R has ever released. Believe it.

  • If it was better than AFD, Lies, UYI I & II and SI you would be right. Instead it's just the album no one cares about, and rightfully so.

  • Chinese Democracy is one of the best goddamn albums ever. Stop being a sheep who is trying to fit so hard with some perceived cool crowd. The music, especially the guitar work is sublime. The arrangements, lyrics, vocals, perfection. I was a hater once too and could care less if loving it is cool or not. Axl deserves all the credit in the world, though I am sure he could give a fuck. He did it, and as an old school fan, I am proud of him. In time CD will gets its due.

  • Hey man, to each his own. I can appreciate that you like it. I think it has it's moments, but don't feel it is anywhere near the same level of the old records. Def not a sheep, I tried to like it, but some of those songs are tragic. Other than SOD and CITR, I feel the album is very forgettable. Better was a cool bubble gum mainstream rock song that I loved the first few listens, but don't see myself pressing play anytime soon. I respect that the rest of the album doesn't follow the cookie

  • cutter pattern, and that Axl put some thought into it, and truly did try to reinvent the sound, but did GNR's sound really need to be reinvented? It's clearly not the Guns N' Roses I grew up on, and that's fine, I can listen to it for what it is, and I did, and don't care for it. I thought it had a ton of promise when I heard the demos, especially the Brian May version of CITR, sadly, the demos were polished to death. The gritty, raw, bluesy rock n' roll sound that made them my favorite band

  • is nowhere to be found, and Axl's voice doesn't sound the same to me. I'll give them this though, not as good as the old, but still great live.

My biggest gripe though, even with all the terrible music that's been pumped out the past 20 years, Shackler's Revenge is one the worst things my poor ears have ever been subjected to, and I can't forgive Axl for putting that out. At least "My World" was a joke, at least I thought it was...

  • That's YOUR opinion. Not MINE. I love Chinese democracy. I bought it. I don't regret it. AND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE.

  • I"M GLAD YOU LIKE IT. There are certainly far worse records coming out today. It's a shame Axl didn't have enough faith in his material to release it under another name, but I suppose it's better than no Guns at all.

  • I was there too, 50 feet from the stage. $22.50 (plus $3.75 service charge) for field general admission. Still have the ticket stub. 21 years old...it was an amazing time from what I barely remember of it! Lol! When they announced they were filming the Paradise City video, everyone went ape shit. Great music, lots of booze, oh, and beautiful women everywhere dressed in bikini tops and short shorts, not covered in tattoos and piercings like they are today. Man, those were the days...

  • O_O i totally love aerosmith and deep purple, o also like guns n' roses.

    my dream came true

  • classic stuff.

  • And few ppl knew slash's god's skillz

  • Man, guns were so young at this time

  • Maybe if they thought ahead Guns would still be together..

  • i was at this show, they set a fire during smoke on the water-we were right in that section, good times!!

  • what Glover says at 1:33? deep purple a very relaxed and expirienced band wich influenced a lot, among others, guns and aerosmith...

  • The better days of the music biz. Now all these new musicians are getting fame and glory for shit other than there music.

Example- The jonas brothers(The worst thing to happen to the musix biz EVER!!!!)

  • I was there 22.50 per ticket I remember during smoke on the water 3 rows on fire on the upper deck at giants stadium

  • my friends dad went to this show

  • Thanks Great Quality

    congratulations =D

    Sensacional

  • i was at this show... great time!

  • haha duff at 1:55

  • Thanx for share!!!!!!!!

  • mannn seeing these three bands dream come true

  • This was when GNR shot Paradise City.

  • I think Roger said: they (GnR's) seems to be doing it all wrong, right from the start.

I guess Roger means "too much partying right out of the gate." Was he right?

  • i want this gig!!..HELP

  • good old school, we miss you

  • does anyone have the full concert

  • GN"R 4EVER

  • Amazing video. Does anyone have the show in its entirety? I'd love to see it.

  • lo quee hubiese dado dios, verlos juntos en vivo y en directo creo que no hay sensacion como verlos a ellos juntos !

  • what i would give to be there...

  • a timemachine?

  • its kinda cool to see how long time ago this were, because their talkin about GNR as if they were nobodies and newcomers (wich they were) and now their real rock legends, and Appetite is like the most sold hardrock album like ever.

  • Yeah. "They're a great new band coming up." I've never heard THAT about GN'R.

  • i wanna see the whole GNR show, the most u can see of it is in th Paradise City vid

  • Very Cool Video,,,thanks man

  • 1:54 is great.

  • Totally agree!!!!

  • The dude in the end had right.

  • Rock on! He's so '80's, but in an awesome way. :D

  • At last Purple get the recognition they deserve!

  • who has tape of the purple show?

  • I have, but it's not brilliant sound-wise. The '88 tour was spectacular, and some European shows were recorded better. You're welcome to a copy, though.

  • can you post it? i wanted to see thi sshow very badly

  • those fans are gay

  • This is one of the shows recorded for GN'R's Paradise City video clip. The other one was Donnington '88. Thanks for sharing.

  • fuck me!! is wish i was at this concert 3 great bands from 3 different generations.Aerosmith and Guns and roses in there prime and my favorite band deep purple!!!!!!!!

  • Very cool video. GN'R back then = the best.

  • 1:33...Roger Glover NAILED it about GnR's.

  • and gillan cant sing the last 20 years, he should have nailed that too then.

  • Chill Ritchie! LOL

  • @olhole HAHAHAHH! Yea he had them pegged pretty good. I guess it was the inside joke about them... IF Guns N Roses thought they were wild they wrere nothing compared to some of the bands that came before or after them...

  • Cool video.
