Lawrence Taylor, was a great linebacker no doubt. But i could'nt stand it when the MNF crew was just all over him like he was a God or something. Ray was the best. I remember seeing him when I was a kid. I rooted for the Colts, NFL, and Broncos, AFL (not a lot to root for in those days), and Mike Curtis was a favorite. But Ray was the role model for linebackers.

While I am a Packers fan, and hate the Shitcago Bears and it's fans, I must respect Dick Butkus. He didn't stumble into the HOF. Neither did Sayers or Payton. But other than that, I still hate the Bears, and while we do suck now (6-10 does not lie) spanking your ass 37-3 was the highlight of my year. Not that I had too many.

Ray was the best. I remember seeing him when I was a kid. I rooted for the Colts, NFL, and Broncos, AFL (not a lot to root for in those days), and Mike Curtis was a favorite. But Ray was the role model for linebackers.

Nitschke is fairly overrated in my opinion, and compared to Dick Butkus, he's just a mediocre linebacker. Seriously, Butkus was a ferocious fucking animal. Sure, Nitschke was one mean bastard, but Butkus was just completely insane, almost like a beserker from the age of vikings. Also, Bears > Packers, that's for DAMN sure.
