Guys , the point is : Nu metal is dead . If LP were to continue with that music genre they would suck , they made a switch to more modern types of alternative rock in order to compensate for the new era in which most people want to hear the newer alternative rock.

Ok, people need to understand one thing...

Thousand Suns, was an EXPERIMENTAL album.

The sound does NOT reflect what Linkin Park has become, because it is NOT "What they have become". They are still the same Linkin Park, but they tried something new. They didnt change genres, they never where a specific GENRE... They where pushed into genres like nu-metal and alternative rock, but they never tied themselves down to a specific genre.

SO STOP YOUR WHINING, AND ENJOY THE MUSIC.
