@Jivetuna are you always so shallow as to judge people by their looks I know who looks and sounds the best now oh and by the way get off that f in high horse of yours before you fall off and disembowel yourself.IDIOT for the record I like robert palmer and never said other wise you poor sensitive soul.merry christmas
I never would have guessed in a million years this was Robert Palmer! I like it a lot,but he is unrecognizable without his suit and tie! LOL Thanks for sending this my way rocker53zero! ♥
I never in a million years would have recognized Robert Palmer if not for his name being posted on here! Amazing I never saw him out of a suit and tie but I LIKE IT!!!!! A LOT!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
@obtucewillie I think that's just old video tape and video compression artefacts conspiring to distort the image - you can see the hammers hitting the strings as he plays.
As far as I recall, old Grey Whistle Test performances were always live.
I'm sorry, but this is really horrible music and visually embarrassing to watch. Robert was much better off to go solo. Also, Robert probably was trying to copy Mick Jagger because obviously the Stones were so popular, but I hate Mick Jagger.
Because he was obviously trying to mimick Mick. I know no other song where he did that, but he was noticably still devolping his own sound while in VJ.
i just liked young robert palmer

This is not a live performance! Only the vocals are live. The rest is a backing track from the first VJ
album.

@livvynut (and the rest of you Elkie-praising animals)
You deserve to be disemboweled with a wooden spoon ...
Palmer has the voice of a sexual beast.
Elkie Brooks sounds and looks like a goddamn sea-hag.
Christ, I want to smack that fuckin' hat of her head !!!!

@bandbase2 You are so right! I have since found that not to be true, but thanks for setting me straight.

I sort of imagine this is how Royal Trux would have sounded if they weren't smackheads.

Sometimes the component parts of a band, add up to a greater total than the true value of the band. The reverse was true with Vinegar Joe.

Look at the piano keyboard ummmmmm whats with that - lip sink recorded job I think either that or the latest foam top key board. But I still love em.

@obtucewillie I agree, the keyboard looks like a trip on bad acid

It was nearly 40 years ago and VJ were to a degree an experimental band early on this was 1972 early in VJ brief career - they got much better.

Hmmm... why on earth does RP remind me of Mick Jagger in this one?? LOL

The chords of the song are similar to those of "Honky tonk women". It helps...
