  • i would realy want to see if mobs spawn on crafting tables, bookshelfs and leaves. :D

  • @saxum11 Yeah, those should be some interesting tests =)

  • @777static777 you know it is useful for pitch black rooms and you can power fence gates so you dont need to open/close them by yourself

  • pistions

  • @myself29000 Pistons have been tested =)

  • do mobs spawn on obsidian?

  • hey static i tested the stone pressure plates on my own mob trap but i got no spawns in that trap at all, is it because of 1.0.0 or what? can you please explain?

  • @WonderJ13 they dont spawn on those

  • @TheRacerKing105 they certainly used to... wonder if that was changed =\

  • @WonderJ13 No idea, maybe this was changed =\

  • Do mobs spawn on beds?

  • REDSTONE ON AND OFF!!

  • Just done a test, Mobs do NOT spawn on open fence gates, they spawned in this video on the block below!

  • @xisumavoid Hehe yeah, it's a little bit of a misnomer, but it is exactly the same as the test of whether mobs spawn on pressure plates or not - the mobs are actually spawning on the block below and IN the pressure plates. Really I should say that I'm testing whether or not these blocks will hinder mob spawning, but its easier to word it like this =p

  • Bedrock!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Glowstone and Jack-o-lanterns give light, so those should just go to the non-spawnable blocks :) Dunno 'bout redstone and redstone torches how much they give out. So i would actually suggest redstone dust (Powered and unpowered) and redstone torches (If you can, do powered and unpowered :) Maybe just fill the outer ring of each of your spawn pads with halfslabs so you can put redstone torches in all the other places and then turn them off.

  • @TheBartmandk The reason glowstone, jack-o-lanterns and torches are on the wall is because slimes count as a hostile mob and can spawn in any light level.

  • Could you try a Furnace with and without something smelting in it?

  • @TheNFAProductions Sure =)

  • I've watched about 5 of your videos, and they are all amazing; you execute the experiment perfectly and with perfect variables, and you run through it quickly and professionally. Good job.

  • @mrspunkaay Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you're enjoying my videos =)

  • The more important question is does open fence gates fool mobs like signs do

  • @BigOnCamp yeh, that's a fair point.

  • "down under" isn't that where you live? :b

  • @alabalacr2 certainly is. And therein lies the joke =p

  • Have you tried soul sand?

  • @LZmiljoona not yet

  • @777static777 thanks, I should have waited till the end of the video.

So my suggestion is SOUL SAND!

I would be really interested if that works, since they are one pixel less high (?) than normal blocks

  • @ItalianDude2709 if the suggestion receives enough interest, definitely =)

  • Do The Enchantment table!! Please

  • i dont see the block but see if mobs can spawn on the end portal frame. u will need the toomanyitems mod to spawn these blocks. thumbs up if u agree!!

  • @mclover0220 hmm that might be interesting... I have MC edit and think I might be able to edit it in like that =p

  • whoa I'm missing lots of episodes because the sub box fails

  • @M2ovies damned YouTube! *shakes fist*

  • DO Lillypads !!!!!!! Inspired by Docm77

  • @socccerPlayerz Lily pads have been done =)

  • I mean nether rack fence

  • @777static777 could you please trie the net here

  • Static can you please test the open fence gate in the air, as it would a highly efficient drop mob trap!

  • @saxdude58 I am 99% sure that they wont spawn on open fence gates in mid air, otherwise we would have creepers falling from the sky =p

  • lilypads

  • glass

  • mycellium!!

  • Jackalatern

  • test obsidian please i have so much near me and i want to make sure mobs don't spawn on obsidian

  • @TheHalomaster3000 I have a feeling they do.

  • mycellium!

  • leave a comment down under! lol because you are Australian :D enchantment table! and then run through them and watch all the books look at you!

  • @lucnoms ; )

  • Can mobs spawn on lily pads in water?

  • Lily Pads!

  • wheat/pumpkins/melons

  • Enchancment table

  • nether portals (finished ones)

  • cauldrons and brewing stands please

  • i say stairs! They are bolth a half slab and a normal bock. Anyone else want to know what happens?

  • how about the mushroom biome grass i think they only spawn mooshroom but not sure

  • @kelvin3711 should be interesting to test =)

  • Rails every type

  • Pressure plates

  • @mrjonahjimills thats been done

  • Tall grass!

  • Signs! with and without post.

  • pistons as the floor activated

  • Tall Grass

  • Brewing stands plz

  • Omg now we just need fence gates to be activated by redstone and we have a much easier alternative to light switches!!

  • @thekills24 agreed =) that would be pretty awesome!

  • Enchanting Tablez!

    (Liked :})

  • are you using redstone as your lights? right? Yes, I'm a noob.

  • @toringedotno Well, redstone circuitry controls the lights, yes.

  • @777static777 Thanks for the reply! I found out how you do it with some tutorials, thanks anyways. Also, I subbed :D

  • i think it may be beds next guys :)

  • Beds

  • Bed

  • Leafs! Or Enchantment table

  • Bed

  • hey Static... Would you be Able to Make a Tutorial On the Roof Light Switching Lights? Also test beds. Thanks.

  • @MinecraftLPorials quite possibly =)

  • Enchantment table!!!!

  • Bed

  • Beds

  • Lilly pad! Lilly pad!

  • Diamond ore

  • BEDS

  • BED!!!!

  • Red stone repeater

  • @humango8 he did

  • The bed

  • sponge

  • Beds!

  • test traintrack

  • I wonder if they can spawn on fence gates with water above. If they can that could be used to make efficient spawning pads in which mobs are carried away by water as soon as they spawn rather than as soon as they walk off the pads

  • cauldrons!

  • test enchantment table or cauldrun empty and filled

  • Not overly useful? are they spawning on top of the fence gate and falling down? or spawning inside of the fence gates.. because you could make a pretty simple and efficient mob spawner by putting those things up high.

  • @tucense they are actually spawning on the block beneath the fence - the fence just doesn't stop the spawning (it's the same with pressure plates). It's just easier to stick with the wording we've used all along.

  • The enchantment table plz

  • Block 36.....

  • Can't believe you've made a fucking series out of this, lazy fucks can't try it themselves?

  • @iTzAIISkill Well it actually takes quite a bit of work to set up a system like this and then to set up the pads for each test. I originally just did it to prove a point but, hey, if I can make a series out of it I may as well =p

  • Glass Panes

  • Beds!

  • enchantment table

  • Bed or crafting table

  • I wonder if mobs could spawn on lily pads?

  • Can you try red mushrooms or torches or beds! Thanks :)

  • Cauldron. :)

  • Could you please try seeing if mobs would spawn on bedrock???

  • Try the enchanting table

  • eould mobs spawn on rails like in mineshafts

  • Can mobs spawn on the block id 97? It's the block silverfish come from when you mine them

  • @Xamanthas hmm, that's interesting..

  • Crafting table, for some reason it doesn't feel right for mobs to spawn on it.

  • @omgimfat1 haha I know right

  • Do a bed!

  • Mycelium-maybe mooshrooms will spawn:D

  • @weirdoguy64 haha that would be pretty cool

  • Enchantment Tables! :D

  • Pistons

  • cauldrons

  • Chest

  • Can mobs spawn on trees/leaves

  • leaves

  • Doesn't it kind of ruin the point of you saying your world for this is legit when you have sponge and bedrock on the wall?

  • @TheSPACEDUDE360000 No, because I never said this world was legit - the testing facility is made out of iron blocks man. The old facility was legit and everything was done completely legit. I mentioned in the episode where we tested cake that I would be using creative mode from now on as I simply don't have time to do this legit. Besides, creative mode IS a legitimate part of the game now.

  • @777static777 Ah right forgot about that :/ The new facility looks pretty nice though.

  • 0 dislikes? shit yo

  • @LocustAnarchy hahaha the "0 dislikes" post is like troll bait man =p

  • Can you test Lily Pads?

  • cauldrons

  • You assume I am a sir! You assume correct....

  • @unbornchickenvoices haha well considering 90% of my audience is male, it was a pretty safe guess =p

  • Yaa, test cauldrons. Empty and filled!

  • Comment removed

  • Enchantment tables!

  • either spider webs or sugarcane

  • Test Cauldrons!

  • spong

  • can you do a tutorial on the lights

  • @supernerf105 I'm considering it =)

  • Cauldrons, empty and filled!

  • Bedrock:D

  • Sugar Cane!

  • Spider webs!

  • Bed!

  • pumpkin

  • I would like you to test lily pads!

  • pistons

  • I would like to see redstone plz

Like this for him to see

  • Piston in pushing state and in unpushing state please

  • That book one can we test that one

  • Levers?

  • Is your testing facility in slime friendly chunk and deep enough? If so, can you test jack-o-lamps? Thank you.

  • @pi0lf it is adjacent to a slime friendly chunk but not deep enough - I have a separate chamber planned for slimes, since I have to use a different method to turn their spawning off.

  • glass :D

  • For some blocks, you check if mobs can spawn ON them, but for others you check if mobs can spawn IN them. To be consistent, for every block you should check both if mobs spawn ON it and IN it, and use 4 chests: "Can spawn on this", "Can't spawn on this", "Can spawn in this", "Can't spawn in this".

  • @CBDiEvAl Well the problem is that people are never really going to have a fence gate floating in mid air so there's no point testing whether mobs can spawn on top of a fence gate with nothing but air below it. The same thing happens with the pressure plate - mobs spawn inside them; not technically ON them. It would over complicate things having the four chests.

  • @777static777 People use fence gates in mid air quite often. For example etho's cow/wheat farm or docm77's elevator.

  • do mobs spawn on redstone?

  • try chest as in -_-_-_- checkered pattern

  • ICE!!!

  • Can you open fence gates with redstone? If so, build a 2-high dark room, place gates right below the ceiling, put redstone in another room directly above. Mob spawning room that can be switched on and off without lagspikes!

  • @CBDiEvAl Unfortunately no - at least, not last time I checked. Believe me, that was the first thing I thought of =p

  • lily pads

  • enchanting table

  • @Klick2View Well, even though Minecraft is officially out, Mojang still plan to do updates to fix glitches and add new features.

As for doing a 1.0.0 update video, I've been tempted, but most of the changes I've covered in previous update videos, so I might be repeating myself quite a bit.

  • @TimsLetsPlay sure thing man =)

  • @qwertyke100 no idea man =\ a drop in FPS is natural, but that is a major drop

  • @Thoraxe555 you're right, they actually spawn on the stone bricks. However, it's easier to just say that they can "spawn on the gates" as I don't have to explain the difference =p

  • Leaves on Fast/fancy :)

  • why are you doing it?

  • @henrik478 for fun =) also, to disprove some things said in the wiki, to prove a point to some idiots who told me that mobs couldn't spawn on player-made blocks, and to provide reference material for people.

  • I would really like to see signs tested.

    Anyway, nice vid :).

  • Rails plx :>
