I totally agree, course organiser should have re-layed out the course that morning.i tlooks as theres plent of space to do so. Theres a rule that says you can, its somwhere in the uci book. In Ireland we did it, basically for the same reason snow, ice, muck and off camber bits dont mix well!

It's real bad course design for a UCI race too. One stretch of tape on an off camber, poor traction stretch, when people are coming the other way at speed. Live and Learn!
